before it was deleated, perhaps this will be also. My husband had the clinton news network on "to see the other side". They had the same quote and information.
I totally agreed with what she was to have said in these statements. I am SO looking forward to her speech tonight. I have not posted these last few days because I have been working.
Sarah Palin was our choice from the beginning...if I was more computer literate I could link to old posts on this site where I posted the same. :)
I have a picture of my son with Governor Palin and Trig taken in Anchorage this spring...she was very gracious and stayed a moment longer for this photo with my son.
I am posting later and she is speaking now-WOW what a Vice President she will make. I am SO excited about this ticket.
None of it will make a difference. The MSM has already conditioned the majority of viewers to unreasonably ignore anything remotely Republican or conservative.
Most of the speakers are not really touching with voters. Like a liberal wimp-fest that doesn't know what it's talking about. Mostly, I'm waiting for Palin's speech. Fiorina's was not bad at the end, but the convention speakers need to improve their speeches.
It is also interesting how MSNBC, in the name of tolerance, cut out not only the portion of the convention where the Pastor spoke, but also the time during which Steele connected with the audience when he said "I can see we're ready to party in this house tonight"...etc.
EDIT: Oops, looks like they're cutting out all of Steele's speech.
For me, the addition of Gov. Palin to the McCain ticket is exactly what the Republican party needs right now. Sarah Palin represents new blood in the party, which I believe is desperately needed.
Even the GOP convention shows signs of the party going in a direction than most Conservative Republicans are not comfortable with. It used to be that Republicans stood for those values that Conservatives hold dear to their hearts. But in recent years, the GOP has been going down a more centrist path, which in my opinion will eventually lead down a path to the left.
If my gut feeling is correct, Sarah Palin could single-handedly take the party back to it's Conservative roots. She has the opportunity to be the female version of Ronald Reagan for this century. If my gut is correct, then we owe a debt of gratitude to John McCain. I'm just hoping that McCain doesn't screw this up.
with you clear. My whole family is very excited about the choice and how I believe the country will fare in the future.
If this has been commented on previously I have missed it...have been working a lot lately...I really noticed that bho's campaign signs with biden had his name is bigger letters with a lighter color against the background and biden's name was much smaller and darker in comparison. ON THE OTHER HAND McCain's signs have the same size letters and color for each candidate. This says much about McCain and how he will govern.
All comentators (blowhards) are defending their bias coverage of Palin!! They are circling the wagons like I have never seen!! There were signs behind Chris saying "ADMIT YOUR BIAS", "MSNBC = DNCTV". Crissy blurts out "WERE ARE JUST DOING OUR JOB"!!
These attacks are backfiring...AND SHE HASN'T EVEN SPOKE YET!!

KILLER speech by Huckabee tonight. Tons of memorable one-liners, but also really meaningful. Loved the desk story at the end, that led to the Oval Office, with McCain earning that desk. Great job overall. Let's see if Guliani can keep the momentum going up through Palin.
"Look, when Keith anchors, he plays it straight down the line.”
-MSNBC President Phil Griffin
Andrea Mitchell just repeated the line about how Obama at least has experience because he's been tested by running for president the last 20 months, while she was interviewing Romney.
That's got to be the most ridiculous line of the campaign season. Campaigning for President gives you experience to be President! What makes it even more ridiculous is how the media pundits keep repeating it.
"Look, when Keith anchors, he plays it straight down the line.”
-MSNBC President Phil Griffin
Can anyone explain the delayed reaction to everything Rudy says? It's almost as if the entire crowd is waiting for the applause sign.
Call me crazy but Rudy's speech was an absolute joke and an insult to anyone with a brain. Is he kidding? Making jokes during an important election? Cheeeesy.
Tonight is sham and an embarassment. If this is what we're doing now, then America is in trouble.
Rudy is killing me, yes. He's destroying our credibility. This is so weak.
What a shame convention. What are there 11,000 people, wondering when to cheer, acting like weirdos. Come on! What is going on. Isn't John McCain good enough?
No, he isn't. This freak show is a reaction to the wrong decision of choosing Palin. Frightening really.
Not the proper route. These ad hominem, cheap, corny shots are what we're going to do to win? This will not go over well. Obama shoots to 50% today based solely on the Palin Pander.
After tonight, he will get more. This is a creepy scene with a mock message. Frankly, I'm ashamed to be a Republican.
Sgt. ROCK - My sentiments exactly. I voted for Romney in the primaries and would have loved to see him as VP but I am not about to go throwing a temper tantrum and sit back and watch two Socialists get voted into office just because Romney didn't get the nod.
I liked the speech. I like what I see thus far.
Whoever casts a vote for Obama-Biden is nothing more than a common thief. Whoever fails to vote against them is nothing more than a moral coward.
but he would never have created this buzz as a V.P. pick. The media would have demonized him effectively.
Sarah Palin emphasizes Obama's weakness and inexperience like no other candidate can. She has accomplished so much more than him. The media is forced to go after her in such a petty way that exposes their agenda and unfairness. This was a brilliant pick.
I think Romney will get some kind of Roll in the McCain admin.
Sure the real dream ticket would of been Romney / Palin, or Fred / Palin. I wasn't going to vote for McCain, but with Palin on the ticket I am jazzed for McCain. ( Heck by real dream ticket would of been Forbes / Palin )
Why is that...I thought someone with lawyering experience as what pop tech was required? No, rather its being able to fight back...that is what we want, we want someone who can fight back and articulate conservative values in a charming and effectual way. Someone who is refreshingly honest and intelligent and wise. Sarah Palin is that. She is the next Ronald Reagan.
but, I am warming up to McCain like I never thought possible before. This VP choice and the whole way he has conducted himself in the general election has impressed me.
The turning point for me was his performance at Saddleback. This pick of Sarah Palin has me thrilled in a way that I can't accurately express in words.
Even though McCain isn't conservative enough for me, I think he will hold to his main campaign promises (War on terror, judges, taxes, and exposing earmarks). He's shown he's a man of honor
ROLF "I think Romney will get some kind of Roll in the McCain admin" I think you meant role. In my demented brain I immediately thought of rolling drunks and the roll he was going to get in the McCain admin.
Yeah, I'll call you crazy. This Rudy speech is phenomenal. He's bringing down the house.
He's absolutely DESTROYING Obama's record and experience. Destroying it. There's almost blood on the floor. But he's doing it in a non-hateful way that is not mean - it's just truthful.
"Look, when Keith anchors, he plays it straight down the line.”

that the Repulicans arent parading their own down trodded Americans out on stage to tell thier pitty story.
This is Mike. He doesn't have a job. And he just got kicked out of his house. He was 23 and living at home. You see Mike dropped out of school when he was sixteen. He can't live for free because we don't let him. His story is a sad one.
Hi. I'm Mike. Because of Republicans I had to go and get my GED. Uncle Sam wasn't giving out free money any more. So I had to get my education and learn a trade. But thanks to the Democrats I will have to move to China to practice that trade. So instead I became a border patrol agent. That was great until two of my best friends were put in jail for doing thier job. So I had to quit. But now if McCain is elected I can use my trade to work on the offshore oil rigs or in ANWR. But if he loses I can always get free money from Obama's programs.....shoot. What the hell am I doing here. Obama!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Palin just said she turned down the Bridge to Nowhere, but...
"In the city Ketchikan, the planned site of the so-called "Bridge to Nowhere," political leaders of both parties said the claim was false and a betrayal of their community, because she had supported the bridge and the earmark for it secured by Alaska's Congressional delegation during her run for governor."
She was supposedly for it before she was against it.
The end result is that she killed.
You'd be well-served not to believe every attacking rumor that you hear from the media right now. They're in a state of desperation since their candidate is in jeopardy.
Have you ever been to Ketchikan? It is no more remote than many other cities in Alaska such as Juneau. Their airport is across the inlet on a large island. Ketchikan may have 8000 residents but they get over a million tourists every year and hundreds of cruise ships. The bridge would not be to "nowhere" for your information. It was to connect their city with the airport so they would not have to rely on ferries.
As far as Palin, the financing of the bridge is more complicated than a sound bite. The original costs were reasonable. Then the costs went up substantially and when the costs were becoming excessive it was killed.
Would you continue state funding for the proposed Knik Arm and Gravina Island bridges?
"Yes. I would like to see Alaska's infrastructure projects built sooner rather than later. The window is now - while our congressional delegation is in a strong position to assist." - Sarah Palin, 2006
She campaigned to build the bridge to get elected and then axed it to score political points. This was never some case of her crusading as some mystical maverick against government waste.
Hmm. The article you posted looks a lot like the ones Newsbusters spends time rebuking. "The Democrats were the ones who pressed for the ethics bill but Palin was against it"...that's not opinionated at all, no really...
She campaigned for the bridge to be built as in, the concept of a bridge was appealing because the town where it was supposed to be built was made to link the town to its airport. Should the airport have been built on an island entirely separate from its town? No. But the town needed easier access to the airport, so she supported it. She wasn't the one jacking around with how the money was being used, and when she became governor, she figured it was just easier to kill it and use her spend-cutting abilities for the state elsewhere, perhaps to make up for the loss of the bridge.
Strategically, McCain's VP choice is brilliant, because although I too suspect a few minor RINO characteristics, she comes pretty damn close. The other interesting strategy is how whenever the MSM points out a "weakness", particularly experience, the same can of worms can pretty much be opened up for Obama. Where it really gets sweet is when we examine the difference between the two- Obama is running for Commander and Chief, while Palin is running for VP. So any time the libs level a criticism at Palin for "experience", all conservatives have to do is apply the libs' criticisms of Palin to the man applying for the most stressful job in the country.
Which is why it gets tiring hearing incessant moaning over Palin coming from conservatives on this site...because in the big picture, there isn't that much to moan about.
you implied it with the campaigning for the bridge, but then for political points killed it. That is the definition of being slimy and untrustworthy. And if she was what you said, she wouldn't have 80 approval.
For that matter, her approval ratings, how well she did tonight with all the unfair pressure and judgement, are great indicators she is more than qualified.
You see, if an unknown pitcher comes on the field, and plays the game better than most, you would still claim he is unqualified because he did go to your qualified school for baseball.
80% approval rating is Alaska does not change the facts, she was for the bridge before she was against it. You can do what she did and simply be a politician, it does not make you slimy. Though I doubt the town member believing her pledge feel she is trustworthy. Why not go ask them?
Let me use plain English since metaphors are beyond you. You would think someone of your vast experience with the English language would understand the analogy. If someone can do the job as well as , if not better, as someone who has a phd, then they are intrinsically talented and are therefore more than qualified to do the job.
Now as far as being a slimy politician, President Bush Sr political career, even with an 80% approval rating during the Gulf War, why? Read My Lips. Now is he as slimy and untrustworthy as President Clinton? No, but it still cost him. No one can maintain an 80% approval rating if they are deemed dishonest. That was my original point.
Why did our main man Mitt not make it through the primaries? Because too many people felt he wasn't genuine enough. I believed him, and I know you were thrilled by him, but when it came down to it, he didn't earn enough trust with people. Why did Fred go down in flames...again trust. People felt there was no fire in the belly, they didn't trust that he would fight to win. Why did Rudy lose? People didn't trust him with the 2nd Amendment ( and his pro-life record didn't help ). Reagan won landslides, because he had people's trust. Trust is NOT something you can get a phd in, it is earned. Sarah earned my trust with her speech tonight.
First off all pitchers don't come from pitching schools. You cannot make someone into a pitcher and help them throw much faster and more accurate then their physical abilities. You can improve on natural talent but sports have absolutely nothing to do with education. Thus your analogy is idiotic beyond all comprehension.
Romney was not chosen because he was Mormon, no other reason, people can pretend it was something else but what is obvious, is obvious. The rest was all Huckabee smears to the dumb religious bigots. He also pandered to idiots who want some idiot like them running the country, instead of a successful, intelligent business man.
Fred has a trophy wife and a second marriage, Rudy had worse marital problems, pro-choice, immigration ect... But Rudy was qualified.
Education isn't everything but you need the basics and Palin has a degree in Journalism, Reagan had one in economics BIG DIFFERENCE.
An approval rating in Alaska is MEANINGLESS, this is not American Idol. I don't care if some 80% of some 1000 people polled in Alaska like her, I care if she is qualified.
Your right pt, there is no pitcher school, doesn't change the fact that every school can do more than improve the natural talent and ability. Some people choose to be self educated, and they can perform just as well as someone who happens to have a piece of paper that they paid tens of thousands of dollars for. The funny thing is, there is a certain path that pitchers usually take to get noticed, which includes going to school. But that is beyond your experience with the English language to grasp.
Look, I am Mormon, and I am well aware of Huck and how Romney was treated unfairly. But the fact of the matter is, that isn't why he lost. I really like Romney, he was the one I was planning on voting for. But he lost because people saw him as packaged, not real. He was gaining some steam, and people towards the end begin to see that he was in fact real, but doesn't change the fact that he looked and acted rather plastic.
Fred didn't lose because of his trophy wife or his second marriage. He lost because people didn't see his campaign as serious. They didn't trust he had the fire in his belly.
Rudy lost because of his 2nd amendment issue and because he wasn't a strong pro-life candidate.
Education isn't everything, yet you seem to make it as the number one disqualifier. Just because she has a degree in journalism doesn't mean she doesn't understand the economy. She certainly showed her moxy for fiscal conservative; she knew enough that she didn't need a luxury jet. The qualifier for me is she knows that taxes is the people's money, not the governments,...and that isn't taught very well in economic school. More often then not, common sense will carry the day. There is a reason why the founding fathers didn't require a degree in their qualifications to get elected. There is a reason why the jury pool isn't a collection of lawyers. Fact of the matter is, with todays liberal indoctrination, they tend to pump out phd economists who are quite frankly dumb.
Governor Palin expressed confidence in the Alaskan infrastructure projects being debated -- and financed -- in Congress. Once the folly of the "Bridge" was fully exposed and given to the responsible parties, those responsible ended the madness.
Another Quixotic display by the desperate left -- outclassed, outmanuevered, outsmarted. But, that's easy to do.
In typical liberal fashion, a contributor slanted a topic to fit it's agenda -- avoiding, deliberately, facts that tell the story of how the Governor actually disposed of the matter. But, what do you expect from people that actually intend to vote for a pandering socialist and racist from Illinois?
You are being disingenous with this article. The money was already coming in when she took office. Frank Murkowski was in office and was to decide whether to go ahead with the bridge or not. Palin chose not to when she became governor when the price tag topped $400 million. She even said toward the end of her campaign that she would look into other options for the money.
Get real.
"This
liberal would be all about socialize -- uh, uh, would be about
basically taking over and the government running all of your companies."-Maxine Waters 2008
Tell me how that is being a 'Maverick'? How did she stop $223 Million from going to Alaska? So if you get the money but call it something else, that is "fighting wasteful spending"? Are you delusional.
I am telling the truth, something that I had no idea was not allowed once the partisans formed ranks.
she was responsible for her government waste. All states try to get as much as they can from the Federal government whether they have a Dem, or Republican or Independent in office.
You think Romney never advocated for any Federal money for his state? You are really delusional.
Look. I don't want to be too euphoric or get caught up in the moment and not think clearly.
But Sarah Palin didn't just hit a home run tonight. She just hit for the cycle.
Thank the media in part for that. After 5 days of unbelievable bashing you almost might've thought she was doomed to fall on her face. They set the bar so low, practically on the floor.
It didn't matter. They could've set it at the roof, and she still just totally cleared it.
What an amazing introduction to the nation. Tonight was Palin's night. And most of the talking points against her should really be reduced to trash now.
"Look, when Keith anchors, he plays it straight down the line.”
-MSNBC President Phil Griffin
...and if Obama is wired for sound while taking a dump in the bathroom, the media will swear up and down that it is the greatest speech ever and that he is the greatest orator in the English language since Winston Churchill.
Whoever casts a vote for Obama-Biden is nothing more than a common thief. Whoever fails to vote against them is nothing more than a moral coward.
better than Michelle O's speech. But watch. They will belittle it and trash it. They will say it wasn't enough. And somehow Michelle's speech will be used as a comparison. It will happen in the next few days. Or Biden will rip it off tomorrow and get full credit. Shoot maybe both will happen. The media will bash it in comparison to Michelle O's then Biden will rip it off and then the media will claim it was magnificent.
Sinise did the voice over for the McCain video last night before Fred's speech.

In a speech class I took in college, we had to watch speeches from Bill Clinton, Barbara Jordan, and Barack Obama (from 2004) as examples of how to give a good speech. I think Governor Palin's speech topped them all.
It is really rare to see a Republican who can speak well. Governor Palin might just have given one of the greatest speeches I have ever seen and heard.
Romney, Huck, and Rudy built up the climaxe and I was a little nervous about the grand finale, but Sarah Palin absolutely rocked the house, she was flawless.
Man, words do not describe this lady, she was speaking to us from the heart, not at us and I must say I ave not seen a speech in a long while that was as perfectly delivered as hers, she didn't flub, stutter or flinch once. She totally nailed it.
I thought Lingle was very effective also.
Move over Barack, theres a new rock star in town, move over Hillary there's a real woman of class coming to Washington and she didn't ride her husbands coattails to get there.
Joe Biden, I hope you had a pen and a note pad handy, there were some excellent speeches given tonight that you could rip off.
PT, Ginger get over yourselves. If you guys dont' see class, proffesionalism and poise when it presents itself, I'm sure theres plenty of Kleenex being dished out at the lefty blogs.
"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious. "
PT, That didn't look like affirmative action on stage tonight in St. Paul to me.
That looked like affirmative a$$kicking.
The MSM and the left are climbing over each other to get a cheap shot in on this lady. That proves to me she's something special and her performance tonight assuaged any doubts I had about her.
So sit around and cry in your beer and help two socialists get elected, for we all know thats what "real conservatives" do.
"You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy. We must be cautious. "

I saw this little quote from Palin's speech, ripped by AP as "mocking" Obama:
Al-Qaida terrorists still plot to inflict catastrophic harm on America; he's worried that someone won't read them their rights.
While I think she's great for the party and would make a great leader, she needs to steer clear of this kind of stuff. Part of what has the base all fired up is her "realness." Unfortunately, that fear she's casting as an Obama weak point is a real one... judicial process in America has become a travesty of justice. Truth and the "right thing to do" have lost their place in the system, leaving room for nit-picking trial lawyers to free terrorists on just such ridiculous "errors of process."
Sarah Palin, you go girl! Just be careful you don't ruin the thing you have going for you - the "real people" image, including an understanding of what "real people" face from the justice system.
Hmmm.... most of the real people I know have no reason whatsoever to fear the justice system.
Amazing how nearly 2 years of wall-to-wall Obammy hype and overexposure has been completely overshadowed by 40 minutes of a mere common American hometown girl. Kinda gave me reflections of a 55 Chevy night at a drive-in movie, cept my girl wasn't nearly as hot.
That you have had the good fortune of not having been screwed by said system or known of cases where people who should have been screwed got off scot-free. In which case, I hope that continues for you, but please know that this stuff does in fact happen quite frequently.
Beside the point, though. I agree with your take on her power and presence -- I hope she keeps it!
I agree with your point of this stuff happening but as for 'quite frequently' I think there will always be aberations and injustices in any system, but ours has checks and balances such that the system reflects a fair society.
At any rate this was an incredible evening for the Republican party. I suspect the number of Americans watching Sarah's speech may have exceeded even the messiah's resurection speech of last week.
for a long time about the justice system and it's flaws so let's just agree to disagree.
As for the turnout, I hope it was that good -- even the lefties watched and thought to themselves, "Damn, she's right!" Of course, they won't say it out loud, though... party lines and all.
It's looking like it was a genius decision to pick Sarah Palin, for sure. I hope it works all the way through to November.
for a long time about the justice system and it's flaws so let's just agree to disagree. The justice system is a product of humanity thus it will be screwed up at times. It will never be perfect.

I never clicked on any of your links because I'm already familiar with all your lame points. I saw this interview the day she was announced. Only and insane person would take this as a negative.
She wants to do something and make a difference. She doesn't want to sit around doing nothing like most VP's. We like that.
Your arguments are so embarrassingly lame and clearly about your hate for women that you have displayed in very clear detail on other threads. You have zero credibility around here anymore.
If the Republicans were to have to make a last-minute replacement to the ticket because of a scandal, it seems as if they'd have little chance of winning the election. Is that what you want?
The cheerleaders just don't know it yet. The more scandals come out the worse this will get. All this is going to take is one big one, abortion, affair or corruption related.
I am not going to start lying because people want to be cheerleaders.
"Back in 1996, when she first became mayor, Sarah Palin asked the city librarian if she would be all right with censoring library books should she be asked to do so."
"... Palin has turned the GOP Sheeple into supporting teenage pregnancy, unbelievable..."
Do you ever take the time to read what you are about to post? That makes about as much sense as me saying that because Romney is a Mormon he supports polygamy.
You have become an unneeded and broken spoke on GOP's bandwagon (weak analogy but I'm short on time). That's fine, we'll keep rolling along without you.
Btw, I was for Romney until I read about Palin's track record and heard her speech.
I will no longer read your posts becasue there is nothing (as in logic) there.
Just like the little pink bunny, I'm sure you could go on, PT. However,
your problem is the same as his. You accomplish nothing other than to
beat a drum. Palin is the most qualified candidate in the history of
the world. Using my qualifications, prove me wrong.
Fact - Harry Truman had NO college degree. Yet he was still president.
Hmmmm...maybe I need to peruse the Constitution again, but I don't recall seeing where one needed a degree for the presidency. Nor does it delineate what kind of degree is required.
Anyways, what do you think is going to happen, crybaby? Is McCain going to see you are having a temper tantrum, put his arm around your shoulder, and tell you he is going to dump Palin and put anyone you want on the ticket?
If I wanted the PERFECT candidate, I would put myself in the VP slot. But that is not going to happen. So I have to accept reality.
And part of reality is that we are uncomfortably close to the second coming of Jimmy Carter, only with such Socialism that it will make Carter look like Reagan. I know what I am going to do to prevent that.
Whoever casts a vote for Obama-Biden is nothing more than a common thief. Whoever fails to vote against them is nothing more than a moral coward.

Well, Daniel, I for one am sorry that Palin isn't as completely perfect as you are, and that her great deadly sin is that she is a parent of five children who instilled values in her children BUT SOMEHOW COULD NOT TOTALLY USURP THEIR FREEWILL.
My heart goes out to Mrs. Palin. No, I am not a parent but I am someone's child and thus I understand the greatest b!#$h about parenting, and it is this: you spend a decade and a half saying and doing all the right things, instilling your values and teaching them right from wrong and so on, and you are left with nothing but hoping and praying that your children actually do right when the time inevitably comes.
Whoever casts a vote for Obama-Biden is nothing more than a common thief. Whoever fails to vote against them is nothing more than a moral coward.
If or when you would have children, it appears they will have a great father. Common sense and the ability to accept, but never condone or encourage, human weaknesses is an admirable trait for a parent.
Sarah Palin is the most qualified candidate in the history of the world.
In case people missed the attorney Phil Berg had a Federal Court serve papers on Barack Obama, the DNC and the FEC authorized 10 days ago.
Strangely the FEC got the papers, but Obama and the DNC never had their papers delivered.
Wake up people, there is a September surprise coming to the Obama Biden ticket as they just tampered with the mail trying to delay the hearing on Obama's bogus birth certificate in his having to produce an authentic one.
Philly Federal Court was mystified as to what happened to the papers.
Can read more at the link below, but maybe Newsbusters could bust this story it and all the media has been ignoring except the Washington Times and stop waiting for this October GOP surprise as this is it.
Oh and PS, this is now by my blog's count 22 Grand Jury indictments the Obama campaign can now be charged with.

I have a picture of my son with Governor Palin and Trig taken in Anchorage this spring...she was very gracious and stayed a moment longer for this photo with my son.
I am posting later and she is speaking now-WOW what a Vice President she will make. I am SO excited about this ticket.
Difference.
September 3, 2008 - 19:48 ET by SchnikeysNone of it will make a difference. The MSM has already conditioned the majority of viewers to unreasonably ignore anything remotely Republican or conservative.

Speakers
September 3, 2008 - 20:01 ET by SchnikeysMost of the speakers are not really touching with voters.

Serious change in politics...
September 3, 2008 - 20:02 ET by Clear thinkerFor me, the addition of Gov.

KILLER speech by Huckabee
September 3, 2008 - 20:45 ET by MikeknaJKILLER speech by Huckabee tonight. Tons of memorable one-liners, but also really meaningful. Loved the desk story at the end, that led to the Oval Office, with McCain earning that desk. Great job overall. Let's see if Guliani can keep the momentum going up through Palin.

That's got to be the most ridiculous line of the campaign season. Campaigning for President gives you experience to be President! What makes it even more ridiculous is how the media pundits keep repeating it.

Sarah Palin emphasizes Obama's weakness and inexperience like no other candidate can. She has accomplished so much more than him. The media is forced to go after her in such a petty way that exposes their agenda and unfairness. This was a brilliant pick.

Why is that...I thought someone with lawyering experience as what pop tech was required? Hi. Bridge
September 3, 2008 - 23:02 ET by Gat New YorkHave you ever been to Ketchikan? It is no more remote than many other cities in Alaska such as Juneau. Their airport is across the inlet on a large island. Ketchikan may have 8000 residents but they get over a million tourists every year and hundreds of cruise ships. The bridge would not be to "nowhere" for your information. It was to connect their city with the airport so they would not have to rely on ferries.
As far as Palin, the financing of the bridge is more complicated than a sound bite. The original costs were reasonable. Then the costs went up substantially and when the costs were becoming excessive it was killed.
Gat

Did she or did she not campaign for the bridge?
September 4, 2008 - 00:17 ET by PopularTechDid she or did she not campaign for the bridge? Then she comes out as the crusader who killed it? Sell it to someone else.
The bridge.
September 4, 2008 - 10:56 ET by SchnikeysShe campaigned for the bridge to be built as in, the concept of a bridge was appealing because the town where it was supposed to be built was made to link the town to its airport.

September 4, 2008 - 01:46 ET by Conservative Voiceyou implied it with the campaigning for the bridge, but then for political points killed it.
Sports have little to do with education
September 4, 2008 - 02:21 ET by PopularTechBut that is reality. Please try a better analogy.
80% approval rating is Alaska does not change the facts, she was for the bridge before she was against it. You can do what she did and simply be a politician, it does not make you slimy. Though I doubt the town member believing her pledge feel she is trustworthy. Why not go ask them?
Let me use plain English
September 4, 2008 - 02:55 ET by Conservative VoiceLet me use plain English since metaphors are beyond you.
Stupid Analogies
September 4, 2008 - 06:04 ET by PopularTechFirst off all pitchers don't come from pitching schools.
More of the PT temper tantrum
September 4, 2008 - 08:49 ET by UnsaneThe temper tantrum because McCain didn't pick Romney as a VP candidate continues unabated.
Whoever casts a vote for Obama-Biden is nothing more than a common thief. Whoever fails to vote against them is nothing more than a moral coward.
PT
September 4, 2008 - 12:08 ET by Conservative VoiceYour right pt, there is no pitcher school, doesn't change the fact that every school can do more than improve the natural talent and ability.

Pop,
September 3, 2008 - 23:50 ET by RESTLESS 1You are being disingenous with this article. The money was already coming in when she took office. Frank Murkowski was in office and was to decide whether to go ahead with the bridge or not. Palin chose not to when she became governor when the price tag topped $400 million. She even said toward the end of her campaign that she would look into other options for the money.
Get real.

September 3, 2008 - 22:10 ET by MikeknaJLook.

My 7 cents...
September 3, 2008 - 23:52 ET by timjamzI saw this little quote from Palin's speech, ripped by AP as "mocking" Obama:

This proves that you know damn little about the country in which you reside.
How utterly sad.

John McCain's choice of Sarah Palin, governor of Alaska, as his running
mate finally gave Republicans a reason to vote for him -- a reason,
that is, other than B. Hussein Obama.- Ann Coulter

September 4, 2008 - 09:15 ET by UnsaneWell, Daniel, I for one am sorry that Palin isn't as completely perfect as you are, and that her great deadly sin is that she is a parent of five children who instilled values in her children BUT SOMEHOW COULD NOT TOTALLY USURP THEIR FREEWILL.
Damn, Unsane.
September 4, 2008 - 09:44 ET by KarmaIf or when you would have children, it appears they will have a great father. Common sense and the ability to accept, but never condone or encourage, human weaknesses is an admirable trait for a parent.
Sarah Palin is the most qualified candidate in the history of the world.

Obama Mail Tampering
September 4, 2008 - 01:03 ET by Lame CherryIn case people missed the attorney Phil Berg had a Federal Court serve papers on Barack Obama, the DNC and the FEC authorized 10 days ago.
