Denver Post: ABC Producer Arrested Photographing Democratic Donors

The Denver Post is reporting that "[a]n ABC News producer was arrested Wednesday outside the Brown Palace Hotel as he attempted to chronicle attendees at a private breakfast held by a Democratic Party campaign committee."

In an article filed in the late afternoon on August 27, Post television critic Joanne Ostrow noted that the network insists they weren't breaking the law:

ABC said in a statement that Asa Eslocker and a camera crew were "attempting to take pictures on a public sidewalk of Democratic senators and VIP donors leaving a private meeting."

"We're getting under their skin, I think," said Brian Ross, ABC News correspondent whose "Money Trail" reports are running every night this week and next from both nominating conventions.

Eslocker, a member of the investigative team, was charged with trespass, interference and failure to follow a lawful order. He was put in handcuffs and taken by police van to the downtown police station.

On Tuesday, Ross and his crew were asked to leave Hotel Teatro when they tried to photograph a private function. On Monday, they shot pictures of a party at the Denver Art Museum through the glass.

"Free" Press?

If Obama becomes president, we'll be seeing much more of this  kind of thing. He's a communist, supported by some of the richest people on earth. Be afraid.

NEVER,NEVER trust a"liberal"

This is BS.  The only law I

This is BS.  The only law I know of limiting photo-journalists has to do with photographing minors.  I doubt the donors were minors.  What gives?  Welcome to the new U.S.S.R.

Tolerance

And they say the Republican's are not tolerant.

Thugs

For 7 1/2 years we've been hearing about how the Bush Administration has been ignoring civil rights and trashing the Constitution.  Looks like if Obama is elected, their fantasies will be fulfilled.  His campaign is looking more and more like a bunch of thugs.

When you put the clowns in charge, don't be surprised when a circus breaks out.

Freedom of the press, or anything else for that matter is only free when the leftists say it is.

Denver Cops Manhandled ABC Reporter

The video of the arrest is AMAZING.  A Denver cop shoves Eslocker off the sidewalk, past the curb, into the middle of the street, and when he says "We're on public property, sir!"  the copper says, "Now you're in the street!"  Later, Eslocker is in a chokehold.  A Denver Police sergeant takes a cigar out of his mouth long enough to tell him, "You're under arrest, pal."

Oh! Bama

Perhaps ABC will see fit to ask Obama what he thinks of this tactic, and will we see more of this when his 'gang' is in charge,

Makes sense

Next thing you know, journalists will want to see the Santoria Resurrection Ritual that accompanies each election in Chicago.

I ♣ my seal

Based on the ABC video

the Denver police over-reacted.

However, what did Sen. Obama or the Democratic Party have to do with that?  Does the DPD do their bidding?

The folks who believe that should loosen their tin foil hats a bit...

The real question is who

The real question is who filed the compliant. Was it someone in that party or the proprietor of the restaurant? The reporter was not breaking the law, and if it turns out that it was a member of the party who filed the complaint, then this does have something to do with the tolerance of Democratic Party members. The DPD did overreact, but should they even have been involved in this? Over taking a picture?

If this were a puff piece

If this were a puff piece on how enlightened that dems are, you can bet the news crew would have been welcomed inside. Instead it was a look at the dark underbelly of dems w/ lobbyists and power brokers.

I'll bet the Mayor and other loyal party members had a hand in this.
