Inflate your tires???

Wow. Well Obama is an expert on inflating things.

His resume. His ego. And his ears. To name but three.

I've just posted this on Ms Sweet FA's blog, it's being moderated so let's see!

I'd call Obama empty headed, but that'd be praise. The Candidate is an over-educated fool, in one ear, out the other. And when he wanders off-teleprompter, just embarrassing.

"We could save all the oil that they're talking about getting off drilling if everybody was just inflating their tires and getting regular tune-ups. You could save just as much."

This is how ill-informed Obama is, and it shows what happens when you make up facts. Something The One does all the time, but alleged reporters never call him on.

FACTS OBAMA: Americans drive approximately 2,880 billion miles per year. Averaging 24 mpg, uses around 120 billion gallons of gasoline in vehicles.

If, through 100% perfect tire inflation, this improved collective fuel efficiency by 1.5%, that would be 1.8 billion gallons.

A barrel of oil produces around 20 gallons of gasoline, so the total savings available through EVERYONE having PERFECT tire inflation ALL THE TIME, is approximately 90,000,000 barrels of oil annually.

How does this stack up against "all the oil that they're talking about getting off drilling?"

ANWR: 10 billion barrels
Outer Continental Shelf: 18 billion barrels (estimated; the actual total is undoubtedly much higher, since exploration has been banned)
Oil shale: 1 trillion barrels

So, on the above assumptions, it would take only 11,308 years of proper tire inflation to equal "all the oil that they're talking about getting off drilling."

What an Obamoron.

You almost have it correct. In Obamaland the remaining 7 states can act as his test of only using properly inflated tires and proper tune ups.

Tire gaffe?! What are you talking about.

Some background: when I was a child, I went to a science magnet school. I was a pretty bright kid back then, so I learned a lot. We weren't just a science magnet school, we were a school with a strong environmentalist theme. We studied the six R's: Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and then Read, Rite and Rithmetic.

I do recall in the very depths of my mind that we were told keeping proper tire pressure was, in fact, a way to save fuel. You see, intelligent people with common sense know that the little things add up. That was definitely one of the themes of my childhood: the little things add up. Make sure your car is in order. Turn off the light when you leave the room. Turn down the thermostat and put on a sweater. Things like making sure your tires are inflated along with fixing leaky faucets were the kind of thing that you think, "That won't help," but it does! It adds up, and you save money!

One of the themes of environmentalism is this: "We will always use resources; but you would be amazed at how much of those resources you can save by doing very simple, small things." It's common sense: If I use fewer resources, I will pay less money for them.

What's ironic is that you tools are always crying about government hand-outs and working for youself and all that. Here's Obama saying, "Look, we will do our part and make an energy plan. You do YOUR part, and try to reduce, reuse and recycle." Obama did not say we could be oil independent by inflating our tires, but he DID point out something simple, something small that YOU can do for YOURSELF.

But, no. You right-wingers are too LAZY to take care of yourselves. The environmentalists say, drive slower, maintain your car, car pool, drive a smaller car - stop complaining about gas prices and DO something in your own life to take care of it. Obama says, "We can't always drive SUV's," and you shout, NO! You cry FREEDOM TO DRIVE SUV's! Drive slower, they say, and improve fuel efficiency. You cry, NO! I don't WANT to go slowly! I'm in a HURRY!

And then you cry to the government, "Gas is too expensive! I can't afford gas! You need to drill for me! It's not MY fault gas is expensive! It's the Democrats! It's those foreigners! It's anyone's fault but MINE! So we need to drill! Drill, drill, drill! We're too lazy to conserve fuel, but you can drill for us! We can't take any responsibility at all, but you can take responsibility for us! We can scapegoat Democrats and foreigners and then DRILL!"

You want the government to wipe your snotty, whiny noses.

You know what the motto of World War II was? Do you? Make do, wear it out, go without. America's greatest generation conserved their resources, and they won a war by doing it. My own grandparents did that, one on the front, the other on the home front. Do you remember that word? The "home front?" Back when our own backyard was the frontline? When people had "Victory Gardens" so the troops could have enough food to eat? When people stopped driving so the troops could have fuel for the tanks? Back when people sacrificed and looked out for themselves?

You should all be ashamed of yourselves, because I know exactly what my veteran grandfather would say to you all. "Crying won't help. YOU have to do something."

My grandfather, I think, would have agreed with Obama: Stop whining to the government and just use less gas, stupid! It's simple as that. It's American to save, or were all those people back during WWII unpatriotic? You want to suggest my grandad was unAmerican, then come say it to my face, right?

And, anyway, reading comprehension, you tools. "Inflate your tires to save fueld" does NOT equal "Inflate your tires to make us oil independent." I mean, how stupid do you have to be to put words in someone's mouth like th- oh. Right. McCAIN put words in Obama's mouth and you listened.

This is one of the stupidest things I've ever seen.

This guy is the ultimate switch and run con man in history.   He was against drilling for oil on our coast line.  A pollof Froridians indicated that they were in favor of drilling.  Now he says it's OK but with all the contingencies that he has learned to master from the mental midget democrats in Congerss.  This  move has to be really upsetting the the "Mistress of the House" after her actions last Friday. 

Watch out Obama, Queen Nancy may just have Jesse cutting off more than your nuts if you keep flip flopping and pandering to the public.
