Newsweek CW Pulls an Albright, Toasts North Korean Dictator

North Korea given up arrow by Newsweek | NewsBusters.orgNewsweek's Conventional Wisdom today is pulling a Madeleine Albright and toasting North Korean dictator Kim Jong-Il on a deal with the United States. The dictator will destroy a nuclear reactor in exchange for the U.S. removing the reclusive, repressive regime from its list of terrorist states.

At right you can see a screen capture of the up arrow. The caption reads, "North Korea: U.S. to take it off the terror list after nuclear declaration. More cognac for the Dear Leader!"

Putting aside for a moment the matter of the wisdom or folly of the deal, since Newsweek CW clearly judges it wise, it's telling that the Bush foreign policy team is not given the thumbs up here instead of Kim Jong-Il.

I know FOX rates an overwhelmingly number one in TV news, but where does Newsweek fit in?

BUSTED!

NewsWeek is TRASH.  Pure GARBAGE.

That magazine is so biased that its not even funny.  It's exactly like Rolling Stone in terms of objectivity and variety of coverage.

I sent an email into NewsBusters a while back concerning a NewsWeek that I thumbed through that had featured pictures of President Bush dancing with various people, including his famous drum beating with the African tribe.  Alongside one of the photos was a caption that read something like this, "The Wachutu tribe of Africa is seen here celebrating with their ceremonial dance of celebration, meanwhile Mr. Bush is seen trying his best to cut a rug, but his dancing is undeniably white. (emphasis added mine).

So now Newsweek is not only embarrassingly and fraudulently biased, but they're racists, too?  I guess I should expect that...racism against white, heterosexual Christian men is the norm for "progressives" and those that understand the evil white lynchpin that is: "The System".

Newsweek is dying on the

Newsweek is dying on the vine. Let it. This rag may have passed Time as the most Un-American POS on the market today. Let it go the way of Look magazine, and others in this country. Good riddence!

Shouldn't the report be read first?

And no mention of how long this has been delayed and late in coming from N. Korea?

This is concidered "Foreign Pollicy" by the Bush administration?

The day that "politician" became a career choice is the day we started losing the Republic. Let's get it back! Alan Keyes '08.

this is obviously a victory

this is obviously a victory for kim dong il - he forced Bush into this agreement ya see - at least that's how the MSM can play it...

I sometimes read it for free on my lunchbreak. I'd never pay to read such yellow journalism. I read it to chuckle at how obviously biased the coverage is. It's actually quite funny. I'd love to see its demise one day.

Kim John-Mentally Ill is an

Kim John-Mentally Ill is an idiot. Just because North Korea's name isn't on an official list of terrorist states dosen't mean the White House won't think of it as one and treat it accordingly down the line. He'd better get actually get rid of the nuclear reactor is all I'm saying...and if the MSM thinks this means North Korea is done as a member of the axis of evil, just wait, I'm sure Mr. Ill will be back at it any day now, and back on the list he'll go.

Bush will probably get flack for this from most conservatives, but let's face it, I'd take a real act in exchange for a symbolic one any day.

And yeah, I find it telling, a facist dictator gets a toast for diplomacy, but the President of the United States gets bumpkus. Why more ordinary Americans are not outraged at the fact liberals (who always claim they are the vanguards of freedom) are such cheerleaders for despotic regimes is beyond me. It's outrageous.
