As of 11:05 p.m. EDT I found quite different play among some major newspaper Web sites regarding the verdict handed down by a Chicago jury against former Obama fundraiser Tony Rezko today. Both the Chicago Tribune and Sun-Times gave prominent play to the story on their Web sites, and the Los Angeles Times similarly teased the story on its front page, four headlines down the left-hand column. But the New York Times downplayed the story while the Washington Post failed to tease it at all on the Web site's front page.
"Ex-Obama Fund-Raiser Is Convicted of Fraud" read a teaser headline under the "More News" menu on the NY Times Web page, about a quarter of the way down the page. A search through the Washington Post's online edition -- looking for keywords "Obama" "Rezko" and "Blagojevich" -- found no links to articles regarding Rezko's conviction, however.

I love that Barack just says "this is not the man I knew" He's said this now 3 times? Rumor is that there's a real nasty tape of Michelle that's waiting in the wings with her claiming "Whitey" is out to get her husband. Then he can claim: "That's not the Michelle I knew"

June 4, 2008 - 23:57 ET by JayTeeThis will hurt Obama in Chicago, and the Govenor is next in Line. The Career path for Illinois Governors, is the Governor's Mansion, then Prison.
At one time they had Two Ex Guvs in Prison at the same time...so the story goes.
Downstate Illinois is Republican...and Obama will have a close run carrying his own State in Nov., as Kentucky went Big Time Hillary, and you can't drive out of Metropolis, IL, without crossing over into Kentucky.
It won't be a Landslide in Illinois, come Nov.

June 5, 2008 - 10:05 ET by maggieqpublicHi BT,
I’d be interested to hear what has been alleged about Michelle’s involvement. The best summary I could find (as far as putting Obama ‘on the record’) is this 2006 Chicago SunTimes article about Obama’s responses to a series of questions about the land deal.
www.suntimes.com/news/politics/124171,CST-NWS-obama05.article
While there are no indictments or official investigations (as far as I know) arising out of the purchase of the Obama home, I would suggest that most Americans do not purchase the family dream home with the ‘coincidental’ aid of a business/political associate. And now we can call that political associate a convicted felon.
Time for the Obama’s to call the bus driver again.
NYT and WaPo worse than Communist press?
June 5, 2008 - 03:31 ET by wdhorningIf this had been a major fund raiser for McCain, the NYT and WaPo would have written volumns of attacks.
But who qualified them as "newspapers" any more? Are they really not propaganda mouthpieces, akin to printing the "party line"? I mean there was a time when these papers aggressively attacked the Soviet Union for a press that only printed what was approved by the Communist Party.
Are these two papers only printing what is "approved" by the Democrats? Are tbey just as "evil" as communists?
News Reporting
June 5, 2008 - 05:02 ET by Dr. DI spent considerable time as a SpecOps "Operator" both in DOJ and DoD (Army Special Forces-Green Beret). I have used and observed the effective misuse of Gov't propaganda machines in the bloody third world-tailored news, skewed reports or simply the absence of items. These tactics were used to shape the masses and demoralize guerilla or partisan forces. I see NO DIFFERENCE in the MSM's. covert and clandestine assault-approach domestically.
If friendly forces (us) were on the receiving end, we established alternate, more credible news outlets. In our case, Blogs will do! The next step is an information campaign with a true message. A msg. that stays on track and has counter-propaganda effect. Let's work on this regionally, then link-up by Sector, State then nationally! We MUST target the most effective and useful population age and issue ranges first...planned well (Primary, Alternate, Contingency and Emergency) we CAN change,-and NOT Hussein's idea of "undisclosed" or "open mandate" change, but purposeful and deliberate counter-threat propaganda and action.
It is first a war of words, then ideals, morays, belief systems; all these before economy and last, the Law of the Land. Make no mistake fellow citizens, fellow warriors, this "change" is for KEEPS. Should make you want to put your war face on! We are fighting for our Homeland, our very Way-of-Life for today and more importantly, Our next generation. They are counting on -every-single-one of US. If we fail to act, Who else will show them?
So fellow Warriors, what are we sitting around waiting for? "SADDLE-UP and GET YOUR GEAR ON!"

AP headline for Rezko story - LOL
June 5, 2008 - 10:35 ET by krendlerAs I posted earlier, Yahoo/AP is obsessed with all things Obama. Last night Obama was 5 for 5 in AP/Yahoo's "Politics" section - all favorable or neutral - certainly nothing negative - and every one mentioned Obama BY NAME in the headline.
Now this a.m. they have an article on the Rezko thing at the bottom of the list of political articles (of course). Here's the headline:
Illinois scandal threatens presidential race
In this ONE case, they made an exception and decided not to mention Obama by name in the headline. Instead, the scandal is threatening the "presidential race". Doesn't even make sense. And besides being more accurate, the word "Obama" would have been a lot more concise. Instead, they bend over backwards to not mention him by name. Looking at the headline, one might think: "Illinois scandal? How vague. I wonder what that's about. I wonder how it affects the "presidential election". Will it affect Obama more or McCain more?"
Another interesting thing in their headlines is that if both McCain and Obama are included, Obama's name ALWAYS appears first. Must be an alphabetical order thing. :-)
I wonder who's writing the headlines for AP/Yahoo. I know it isn't the article authors.

I swear he mumbled something about his Dem contributions and at the end of the story might have, I said MIGHT have mentioned Obamassiah by name.
