DenverPost.com Slow On Uptake with Headline 'Clinton Set to End Race'

Earlier this morning the Associated Press's Beth Fouhy reported that Sen. Hillary Clinton (N.Y.) is gearing up to concede the Democratic nomination contest to Sen. Barack Obama (Ill.) in a speech following primary election returns tonight.

Not so fast, Clinton aides said, scrambling in short order to protest that Hillary is not going to throw in the towel tonight.

Yet the Denver Post as of 1:10 p.m. EDT today still has the old headline on the front page: "Clinton set to end race." Contrast that with the Chicago Tribune's front page teaser capped at the same time, "Clinton aide: Not so fast" (screencaps below fold):

Curious

I was wondering about that.  Foxnews.com still had its AP article that said Hillary was going to conceed while over on CNN.com they had already updated and said that she was not planning on it at all.  Foxnews has updated it now, but I found it interesting that Fox was behind CNN on that issue.

True. Clinton aides are

True. Clinton aides are going on the record to say Fouhy's reporting is wrong, and I don't have the exact timeline, but it was at least by 10:30 a.m. EDT. My screencap is from 1:10 p.m. EDT, so the editors at the Web site are apparently not keeping track of the developing story.

Since Denver is the host city for the Democratic Convention this summer, it's a little amusing that the headline and linked story contain old information. I'm sure this is an issue they'll try to avoid having when the Convention is underway in August and they have breaking news left and right lefter from the convention floor.

Sounds like a classic dirty tricks campaign

I laughed when I received the AJC new release and clicked on the article to see that it had been updated with the now famous denial. Typically Republicans bear the brunt of this sort of campaigning by the msm. Must be a real slap in the face to the Clintons.

I guess what goes around really does come around!

Oh Denver!

I just made the connection that Denver is the city for their convention.  It makes perfect sense now.  I thought it was odd for Hillary to back out now the day of the last primary.  She should think about running as an independant candidate!

I see now that more

I see now that more superdelegates are coming out for Obama before the primary vote is over here in Mt. or SD, hand in hand with the AP false report being put out early this morning...intentionally.

Politics...a blood sport.

Clintons used to own it...now Obama and his machine is in full bloody speed...it is outrageous and sickening to say the least what they are doing, but oh well...they have reaped what they have sown, they just can't blame the vast right wing conspiracy anymore.

Carter announcing

Well now Carter is announcing he is going to announce he is giving his support to OBAMA after the primaries close tonight...isn't that precious....WHO KNEW!

Yup, pretty slow on the

Yup, pretty slow on the uptake alright.

They wrote "...she was also resting her voice, which was nearly shot after days of nonstop campaigning."

Nah, I'd say the reason was more likely from screaming her lungs out at her husband.
