Chris Matthews will forever be linked with his "thrill up my leg" remark about Barack Obama's [a]rousing oratory. There's no doubt Matthews is among the loudest in the media when it comes to proclaiming, "Hosanna" whenever he talks about the Obamessiah.

But Matthews also won recognition last night at MRC's 2008 DisHonors Awards for comparing Bill Clinton to Jesus.

"There are times when he sounds like Jesus in the Temple," Matthews oozed on the February 28, 2007 "Hardball."

That line won the additional honor of "Quote of the Year" in addition to "The How We Adore Clinton-Gore Award."

Considering that, plus the number of time times Chrissie was a runner-up in the other categories, he should have gotten an "Annual Achievement Award" or something like it!

From the same show, you

From the same show, you have to see this video with Ann Coulter. I don't see it linked anywhere on this site but it's the funniest thing I have seen in a while. Very well produced:

Let's not forget what he

Let's not forget what he said when Clinton made his first public appearance at a John Kerry rally after his open heart surgery...."Like Lazarus rising from the grave...!!"

Good one, marpel, I had

Good one, marpel, I had forgotten that!

Liberals love to use biblical references to refer to themselves and their liberal buddies.

Bill Clinton loved to cast himself in Messianic terms...he once referred to a "new Covenant" with the American people and cast himself as the "repairer of the the breach" (reference to the Savior by the prophet Isaiah).

But let a conservative try that and watch out! Theocracy is around the corner!!

Mother, I swear, I can still

Mother, I swear, I can still hear Matthew's voice as he growled the name Lazarus...And that was while his side kick, Andrea Mitchell, was looking on in the throws of rapture. That's when my pea brain started to realize the bias that's in the media...

But, you're right...let a conservative try it and it's all over the airwaves with "the religious right" references.

Chris Matthews and MSNBC

I think that we are all guilty of one thing....... we're placing far too much importance on what Matthews, Olberman, Joe, Mika and the rest of these fools at MSNBC are saying.  A look at the numbers (ratings), and you'll realize in the grand scheme of things, they're actually.....irrelevant.  No one is watching!

But it's fun to watch them

But it's fun to watch them preen in their own "importance" and laugh at how hard they try....as long as you keep the duct tape handy!!

Exactly, Mother. I watch

Exactly, Mother. I watch for the entertainment of watching then wet themselves over their candidates and dinner party buddies. I keep in mind that they are only doing this to please their friends and to hell with the American public. They're basically saying, "those po-dunk people in fly over country have no clue. They need to learn from us..." I find it amusing...

The point of this site is to

The point of this site is to monitor what the media is saying. MSNBC may be out there and have low viewership, but they still have influence with their media brethren.

Lazarus' sisters said about

Lazarus' sisters said about him, "After four days he stinketh."  For my money, Clinton stunk(?) stank(?) long before four days.

The Thriss

That "thrill up his leg" was just Obama peeing on his leg and telling him it was raining.

Since government is coercion, politics is largely the exercise of deception regarding the intended use of coercion - George Orwell

The Messiah of Humanism

The sad part is alot of Christians bought his shtik and voted for him, twice.

At the 1992 convention he misquoted 1st Corinthians: "...Eye hath not seen, nor ear heard, neither have entered into the heart of man, the things which we can build. Everyone cheered.

The real verse ends, "...the things which God hath prepared for them that love him." 1 Cor. 2:9

See the difference? It's the age-old rebellion: mankind rejects God's gifts and trys to build their own paradise and their own Tower of Babel to ascend into the heavens.

But too many Christians failed to recognize this and flipped the lever for him just because he 'sort of' quoted the Bible and had his picture taken coming out of church.

matt, I used to get

matt, I used to get absolutely ILL at Bill Clinton casting himself in Messianic terms. Now we have to put up with similar schtik from Obama.

Clinton also said one time (non-religious) that the founding fathers wanted to form a more "appropriate" union.

Hey, when you're as great as he is, it's OK to plagiarize and misquote, appropriating things to yourself, because you ARE so wonderful!

A little OT, but you and I have talked before about his not wanting HRC to win...what did you think of his bringing up the Bosnia incident just as it was dying down...did you catch that thread earlier (with the Joe Scarborough video inset)?

I can't tell if he's trying

I can't tell if he's trying to sabotage Hilly or if he's just spinning out of habit...or both...

It's just more phoniness - but in that thread I was trying to be nice, so I just brought up the fact that at least he's not meeting with Hamas.

I dont for one  minute

I dont for one  minute believe it was a misqoute.  It was deliberate.

Couldn't  a 'misquote' be

Couldn't  a 'misquote' be intentional?

I didn't say he misspoke.  He said exactly what he intended to say.  The question is, did he deliberately rewrite that verse, or was he quoting from some whacky New Age 'per'version of the Bible?

Either way, it was all part of his act to get a small chunk of the Bible-Thumper vote.

He was using the Bible

He was using the Bible quote to describe his plans. Whether that is a legitimate use of scripture (without citing it as such) I guess is open to debate.

It just bothers me to no end that it it an attempt to cast himself in Biblical terms by using that and his other references to Scripture.

I enjoyed this

I enjoyed this immensely...but my pick would still go for that insane, rabid spewing, leftist loon... Bathtub Boy.
