Los Angeles Times's L.A. Now blog today picked up on reporter/former L.A. mayoral mistress Mirthala Salinas:
Her rise through the ranks at Telemundo was swift. Her fall following the disclosure of an affair with Antonio Villaraigosa, mayor of our fair city, was a spectacle. And now she's back - on the radio this time. Hoyinternet.com is the first with the news:
Cuatro meses después de renunciar a su trabajo como reportera de Telemundo-Canal 52 debido a su amorío con el alcalde Antonio Villaraigosa, Mirthala Salinas ha regresado al campo periodístico de Los Ángeles como co-presentadora de un programa radial.
The gist is, four months after getting dumped by Telemundo, Salinas has been hired as co-host of the morning talk show, "Hoy por Hoy", which airs Monday through Friday on W Radio, XETRA 690 AM.
As you can see, Villaraigosa's Democratic Party affiliation was left unmentioned.

Do we really expect anything different anymore?
Not gonna' happen anytime soon...not with the msm's agenda.
Intentional hypocrisy at it's finest.
Do these liberals ever figure out why chicas are with them?
February 20, 2008 - 14:18 ET by Lame CherryThis Prince Charles big eared geek probably never thought as he was sexing up the chica just like Chucky never figured out Diana was in bed with him due to position and not sex appeal.
Think Donald Trump would have chicks if he was Don the drive up gas pumper?
Think Teddy Kennedy would have laid all those good looking chics if he was Teddy sewer man?
Think Bill would have nailed everything in a skirt if even the plumpers would have allowed it if he was Bill the astro turf salesman?
Liberal guys all think they are hot.............look at that uggo Kwame in Michigan. That is one equal of Teddy Kennedy in ugly and he thinks he is hot stuff in dirty messages.
Women are with men who have big accounts, access to power and can "do something for them". Yes that sounds like a whore.......yup that is what it is and these guys think they are Don Juan when the women are just using their Juanabe Don to get what they want.
The word is not mistress. The word is power whore.

There's an expression in
February 20, 2008 - 15:05 ET by fitzfongThere's an expression in Los Angeles (not sure if it's unique to LA, but...) related to the ubiquity of politicians and newspeople...recycling turds. The concept is that one rotten politician becomes famous, gets termed out and moves to another seat in another chamber of local government where we have to see his or her ugly mug on a daily basis for another few years. Incompetent City Councilmen bamboozle enough locals to essentially guarantee themselves lifetime roles in local and state government. These incompetent City Councilmen move down the pipe to County Board of Supervisors, followed by State Assembly, State Senate and either a trip to Sacramento for a taste of Statewide office (the Gray Davis/John Garamendi/Cruz Bustamante/Bill Lockyer route) or back to the city for an executive role (the Villaraigiosa route). After a series of promotions, demotions and lateral moves, these clowns become omnipresent. It happens the same way with local news...local ABC anchor ends up as NBC street reporter and weekend anchor and moves to KTLA or local Fox for one last lower profile gig. Mirthala has taken the fast track towards recycling by getting tied up in a few high profile sex scandals, including one with the soon-to-be unemployed Speaker of the Assembly, Fabian Nunez (he, too is getting recycled...he'll probably end up as a freshman State Senator and will try to climb the ranks in the time he has there). No doubt she'll do her time in radio, let the whole scandal blow over and she'll be back on local Spanish Language TV...first as a curiousity, then as an all-is-forgotten reporter/anchor. Now if only the other slick turd, Villaraigiosa, would get recycled...he'd make a perfect union delegate.
Great post. It sounds as if
February 20, 2008 - 17:59 ET by Mr. KafirGreat post. It sounds as if you live in LA. Do you listen to Ken and John on KFI??? They talk about this recycling all the time. Notice that most the names of these parasites are strangely similar to the illegal aliens that invade the city. Coincidence? I think not.
Thanks, Mr. Kafir. I used
February 20, 2008 - 20:07 ET by fitzfongThanks, Mr. Kafir. I used to live in LA and have spent most of my life in Orange County. I do listen to John & Ken on occasion (but I better be careful where I admit that lest Dave Pierre accuse me of taking dictation from him...I had a rather lengthy set-to with him a couple of months ago regarding Cardinal Mahony). I don't agree with them on everything, but they do have a good handle on budget and tax issues in Southern California...especially in Los Angeles. A lot of the people in city and state government in Southern California are two-bit hustlers who manage to secure a disproportionate amount of power relative to those eligible to elect or defeat them. Then, of course, you have the inevitable legacies of failed local politicians ascending to positions beyond their competence due strictly to nepotism. So along with the perennial tiresome thieves and identity politicians like Zev Yaroslovsky, Gloria Molina, Bernie Parks, Nate Holden (that's going back a ways) and Mark Ridley-Thomas, you get their defective children like Eric Garcetti, Janice Hahn and Jim Hahn. All of them have such ridiculously high opinions of themselves, of their abilities, of their intelligence and of their power that it's nice to hear them taken down a peg and lampooned for being the overly-indulged windbags that they are.
