Allahpundit has the video of Fox News anchor letting the former Al Gore [fashion] adviser have it in a posting over at Hot Air. This happened in the 3 o'clock half hour of "Studio B." Here's an excerpt:
SHEP SMITH to NAOMI WOLF: I want to apologize to you for pointing my finger at you. I just get tired of people like you saying every time you're challenged on something that you say that it's something about Fox. It's not something about Fox. I don't have a horse in this race and for you to suggest such a thing is both inaccurate and insulting.
WOLF: Okay, Shep, if you knew my long relationship with Fox--
SMITH: I do know your long relationship with Fox, but I don't think it's fair to just take shots at us because we ask questions. And I think to say that we want to get our babies out of Iraq -- last time I checked everybody over there's at least 18.

Liberals think EVERYBODY is a "baby"
February 6, 2008 - 17:51 ET by ironchefofmunchiesThus the cradle to grave nanny state they wish to impose bit by bit.
Soldiers are no more or less "children" in their eyes than the other 300 million Americans. However, liberals are not above singling out soldiers as "children" if they can use them to score cheap political points.

Is Shep auditioning for the Obama Clinton debate
February 6, 2008 - 17:52 ET by Lame CherryShep sounds like he is trying to muscle his way into the Obama Clinton debate on Fox.
I hope he gets in if he is going to act like this as this is what Obama and Clinton need to face. Tough questions and intelligent responses when they whine.

February 6, 2008 - 17:58 ET by ThisnThatI watched 30 seconds of Shep's show today -- those exact 30 seconds. At the end, Naomi tried to respond, and Shep just shut her down. Very intertaining.

February 6, 2008 - 18:02 ET by Sonny LykosFunny how liberals refer to soldiers as "children" and "babies" but would not think twice about killing an 5-9 month "baby" that's still in the womb, or in the process of existing it.

February 6, 2008 - 18:07 ET by drillanwrWould/Could you define "adult" for us please?
I'm just a tad confused ... A 12-13 yr. old girl should be considered an "adult" if she's seeking an abortion without her parents' knowledge ...
Middle school "students" should have free access to birth control in the schools because they are "adults" and can make the decision to have sex.
However, 18 yr. olds are NOT "adults" if they volunteer for the military?
GMTA!!
February 6, 2008 - 18:35 ET by motherbeltdrill, GMTA!!!
That's exactly what I had in mind to post; I'm glad I read before writing.
Even leaving aside the 12 or 13 year old girl wanting an abortion, I just love how easily Liberals switch from calling our troops "our brave men and women" to "our babies."
I'm really disappointe that Smith didn't challenge her on "our babies." I think it's a custom for women in the South, (and maybe Texas?) to call their kids their "babies" when they are way past that stage. But if Wolf wanted to make an impression with that argument, she should have changed it to a more common term like "our kids" or "our sons and daughters." He should have forced her to clarify that. Maybe she would have said "well that's what THEY called them." But she was definitely comfortable with our adult soldiers being called "babies" and that's disturbing.
As for his confrontation over her Fox comments:
She specifically said "for the first time we don't have to hold our nose" Any journalist who let that slide and didn't ask her if they had been holding noses for previous candidates, would be derelict in his duty. Unfortunately, lots of them are.
And Liberals hate it when they get taken up on stuff like that; they're used to getting away with it.
Game, Set, Match!

Or is it manipulation and brainwashing?
February 6, 2008 - 19:48 ET by SouthernRootsRight on! (Showing my age).
Young girls are mature enough at 12-13 to decide to engage in sex and to get an abortion. Young boys are mature enough at 12-13 to decide to engage in sex.
But! When they are 17-18, they are too young, easily manipulated and don't full understand what they are doing when they enlist in the military.
Recruiters will see a potential enlistee for only a few hours, depending on what needs to be done, but school staffs have much more continuous contact with the teens, thus far more influence - or is it manipulation and brainwashing?
Sic em, Shep. Good boy.

By the way, have you seen those babies lately? Those babies handle smart-weapons even better than I handle a remote control. They can fly stealth bombers and target cruise missiles. They can clean and strip a rifle or any other equipment faster than I can breathe. These babies can put my face on the other side of my head if they want to.
Babies ... jeez ... when they offer that spin to other people, do other people actually fall for it? Oh yeah, I forgot ... we still have the Democratic party ...

I had stopped watching Smith's show on Fox after his ridiculous and yellow journalism and sensationalist covering of hurricane Katrina....but this might just bring back to his audience.
I am glad that he slapped a Liberal around. Obviously Wolf was trying to take a shot at Bush and the Republican party and probably (being used to the soft balls thrown at her in the other networks) didn't expect Sheppard Smith to call her one her stupid comments and her attack on Foxnews.
Why can't Republicans do this, why? oh why, oh why? call these Liberals on their double talk, lies and stupid comments that are swallowed by the Liberal media faster than Monica Lewnsky swalloed. Sorry for the crude comment, but it is just about time that people stand up against these pathetic lies spewed out by Liberals/Democrats and their mindless pundits.

February 6, 2008 - 22:12 ET by liberal_bug_zapperYeah, that's stupid... there are as many white men in this country as all other races combined. So for liberals to say we're the minority... is just wishful thinking. Whoever the white man votes for most is who wins the Presidency. It's just a cold hard fact... which is why they've been trying to brainwash our kids in school.

The Republicans' craven attitude towards the Dems and the media is pretty contemptible to watch. They have let the media and Democrats frame the debate time and time again. The only time the GOP has been successful is when we framed the debate. That was one thing that was lost from the Reagan years.
