Remember ten years ago when staunch defenders of President Bill Clinton conceded that, yes, Bill Clinton lied under oath, but it was a lie about sex, and hence not an impeachable offense?
[Speaking of which, January 27 will be the 10 year anniversary of Hillary Clinton's famous "vast right wing conspiracy" charge.]
Well, now Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick (D) is facing mounting pressure to resign for pretty much the same thing: lying about sex under oath in a legal proceeding. While I'm personally curious whether any Democrats, particularly those supporting Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-N.Y.) for president will come forward and defend Kilpatrick -- you know, urging him to stay in office and fight to "work for the people of Detroit" -- the more immediate concern here at NewsBusters is, are the media noting or ignoring Kilpatrick's Democratic Party affiliation?
The answer so far? No, at least not the Associated Press. Reporter Corey Williams failed to mention Kilpatrick's party affiliation, although Williams did note Kilpatrick faces similar legal problems as Clinton:
The trial in question arose from a lawsuit filed by two police officers who alleged they were fired for investigating claims that the mayor used his security unit to cover up extramarital affairs.
The lawsuit ended with the jury awarding $6.5 million to the two officers. The payout eventually grew to more than $8.5 million.
The allegations and possible perjury charges have placed Kilpatrick in company that includes President Bill Clinton. Clinton faced impeachment proceedings after repeatedly denying his relationship with intern Monica Lewinsky.
"You have to make a distinction about what's personally embarrassing and what's illegal," Herzik said. "Clinton didn't do anything illegal. The Republicans will disagree, but having sex in the Oval Office, the last time I checked, wasn't against the law."

anyway...Kilpatrick is in mucho trouble over this, I heard this morning city workers are going to go on a massive strike if he does not step down real soon, he may end up behind bars, the msm has been silent about all of this huge scandal, I mean huge...just like Jefferson...not a peep...
If this any of this was reversed with party affiliation the guy or gal would be long gone by now and be wearing stripes.

Not once in the first 3 minutes did he mention why the mayor and his lady friend had to testify about their relationship. Instead, Smith pounded the "sex scandal" theme over and over again, and he had two Detroit residents say on camera that "private sex matters" shouldn't be other people's business. Finally, a reporter came on and briefly explained that the mayor had been sued by two fired employees who claim the mayor fired them because they questioned unauthorized security expenses for his girlfriend. Shouldn't that be the number one issue here? It's like the Clinton "sex scandal" all over again. I'll bet 80% of Americans cannot correctly explain that Bill Clinton was impeached because he lied under oath in Paula Jones' civil lawsuit.

And you are right. As for the AP, Reuters, and MSM in general; they play the numbers game. If they can sway just 5%-10% of the masses about an election, that could be all that's needed to make the difference, so their job will have succeeded.

The same McViegh case which was rattled on the first day Bush 43 entered office by the people who knew what was really going on there to gain leverage in this government.)
Adulterer Kilpatrick gets a free ride as the fact is all the MSM, the high profile government agents and key corporate officials all have files on them containing the same perverted garbage Kilpatrick was involved in or it is always bribes. The MSM will not touch it as everyone of them is guilty of the same thing.
I have never understood why these pervs do not simply do the adult thing and simply "hire a bevy of babes" as assistants. There are always bimbo democrats fawning to be the bosses mistress. They would keep their mouths shut in order to protect the agenda and be part of the big plan.
Instead these dolts like Clinton troll the ditches and find themselves exposed by a naive chic or a professional agent whose bosses are blackmailing the man in charge. (Clinton never seemed to get caught in sex, but had much deeper gliches the Chicoms were blackmailing him for.)
In all of it, the same blackmail always spins out and the people loose as a politician is spending more time feeding an addiction and covering it up than doing what he promised to do in being elected.
If one is fortunate to get one of the old dames at a party who likes you and is looking to unload, they will tell you about everyone's dirty secret which most people know about there.
You think Mort Zuckerman doesn't know what is going on or hasn't had peeks inside of files no one is supposed to see.......they all are shown just enough and they all know the same evidence is in their files.
Hillary calls it the VRWC, but she knows very well the people she fears most are her handlers of the globalist movement. They have her file. They have Bill's files and they will either hang Kilpatrick or let him off in a bargain where he will serve them in a more detailed way.
It is why Democrats never go to prison in playing the game as they always cut the deal.

If the media thinks they're helping the Democrats out this time by not putting a "D" next to Kilpatrick's name, they'd better think again. But you know what? If he's not in jail, the people of Detroit will put him right back in the Manoogian Mansion.

In fact, Billy Jeff Clinton's own Administration actually prosecuted a woman in Idaho, who worked for the Veteran's Administration, for lying under oath about sex.
