Here's a story from the Miami Herald that's worth keeping track of for coverage in the larger mainstream media, particularly the networks. I highly doubt this story will be a priority for the MSM, although I'm sure conservative bloggers and perhaps immigration reform activists will make sure the American people become aware of it:
Hundreds of wannabe truckers took a detour on the way to the DMV and got bogus commercial driver's licenses, thanks to an Army National Guard sergeant.
Friday morning, authorities threw up the stop sign.
In a series of early morning raids throughout Miami-Dade County Friday, authorities from federal, state and local agencies arrested five people they say obtained licenses fraudulently. Two others were taken into custody later.
More arrests are coming.
[...]
Often disoriented, the suspects were allowed to get dressed before they were cuffed and taken in for questioning. While it is not believed that any people arrested Friday are in the country illegally, some are not U.S. citizens and face deportation if convicted of a felony.
The arrested were: Gregory Diaz, 23; Lina Belkis Diaz, 43; Luis Enrique Diaz, 38; Jesus Luis Montesino, 48; Adalberto Ramos, 40; Jacinto Ramos, 39; and Jose Fernandez, 24.
These are just a handful of nearly 200 people the state has targeted for purchasing waivers through Baez.

January 4, 2008 - 16:26 ET by sentforth5This whole trucking thing is going to be a disaster and the President of the United States of America welcomes it. Even though they have high-level AMERICAN backers for this mexico trucking deal, they still think it is necessary to break they law. It is their very nature. Central and South America are parasites and they will suck U.S. dry if a true conservative is not voted into office, and even then I don't know, I mean, look how Ronnie did us...

January 4, 2008 - 16:54 ET by ammo johnI'm hoping that he'll also face the wrath of the UCMJ (Uniformed Code of Military Justice) in addition to Federal/State charges. This is a predicament for the media: they have a chance of smearing the military (he deserves it anyway), but he's helping the soon-to-be-announced illegals. We all know how the MSM love illegal aliens, or anything done illegally (except done by conservatives or any pol with an -R after their name).

January 4, 2008 - 17:31 ET by wizardjrBy the time the Lame Stream Media get through with all the contortions necessary to blame all this on the military most of them will need a ride to the hospital for spinal repair.
While they're there, they could seek medical assistance for their cranial-rectal convergence issues as well.

January 5, 2008 - 20:50 ET by Jerry MackI fail to see the correlation between the Drivers license and the national guard? What was his occupation? There are very few full time guardsmen.
