"Green Week" at NBC-Universal was weeks ago. But it's still in re-runs, at least in NBC "Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams's mind (h/t Moonbattery). From a December 5 article on Time.com that asks "Who Will Be Person of the Year in 2007":
Brian Williams Veteran journalist who became anchor of NBC Nightly News in 2004, replacing Tom Brokaw.
My nominee for 2007 Person of the Year is a woman--a woman with a history of abuse, a woman who has never run for elective office, someone we all know, someone who makes her presence known on a daily basis in all our lives and, for my money, is better than any male alternative. That woman is Mother Earth. I think the environment is the compelling issue of our time.
Yes, Time really felt the need to inform readers that Williams anchors the "Nightly News," although he's done so for three years now.

Mother Earth
December 12, 2007 - 13:55 ET by ForeverOnTheRightI just think it's strange to give Earth a gender. Who's the father? Where are the sexual organs? Not that I am really interested. It just seems air headed weird to think Earth has a gender. It just sounds like a concept that someone who smokes weed and does LSD from the 60's would come up with the concept of “Mother Earth.” To give an inanimate object the “Woman of the Year” award just tops the cake of weird.
This is what happens when
December 12, 2007 - 17:12 ET by Gary P JacksonThis is what happens when you don't believe in God. If you have no real belief system, you look for false gods everywhere. The Earth has become the left's "god". It is that simple. (and that foolish)
But that statement...

What a complete and utter butt-munching tool you are Brian. You are an embarrassment to the species.
