The Associated Press is reporting a second Hillary Clinton campaign volunteer has been shown the door for furthering rumors about rival Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) being a "Muslim possibly intent on destroying the United States.":
The Clinton campaign has decried the rumors as offensive and outrageous, and last week forced volunteer Jones County coordinator Judy Rose to resign after learning that she forwarded a such an e-mail on Nov. 21. But it turns out Rose wasn't the only one.
Linda Olson, a volunteer coordinator in Iowa County, had forwarded a similar version on Oct. 5, without comment, to 11 people. One of the recipients was Ben Young, a regional field director for Democrat Chris Dodd's campaign, who provided a copy to The Associated Press on Sunday.
As NewsBusters editor Brent Baker noted in an October 31 post, NBC "Nightly News" anchor Brian Williams tossed Obama a softball at an interview on the matter of the Illinois Democrat being subtly "swift-boated" about his religion.
Williams hinted that Republicans were most likely to unfairly smear Obama, but given the fact that TWO Hillary Clinton workers have been given the boot thus far, what are the chances Williams will apply the left-wing "swift-boating" canard to Hillary Clinton? (emphasis mine):
The question, in full, from Williams at about 10:09pm EDT during the October 30 two-hour debate from Drexel University in Philadelphia:
Senator Obama, we're going to transfer into a new area here. A question specifically for you because you're in a rather unique position. It's about religion and misinformation. Governor Romney misspoke twice on the same day, confusing your name with that of Osama bin Laden. Your party is fond of talking about potential swift boating. Are you fearful of what happened to John McCain, for example in South Carolina a few years back, confusion on the basis of things like names and religion?

Difference?
December 10, 2007 - 14:49 ET by islero47Obama, Osama: what's the difference, really? Both want the troops out of Iraq, both would institute policies detrimental to America. I suppose one would accomplish it quicker than the other, but does that really matter?
Actually, I think Hillary would destroy the country faster than Obama. She's got connections. But her name doesn't rhyme with Osama ;)
Hillary needs to hang it up
December 10, 2007 - 15:14 ET by candanceEven for liberals reading this, there are two possible explanations for all the Hillary scandals this year:
1)Hillary schemes up these dark deeds and lets someone else take the fall.
2) Her campaign is so full of crooks, liars, and smear merchants we worry about her competence as a leader.
Wanna see censorhip in America? Talk about politics with a southern accent.
Yup, candance, it's obviously either Hillary

It is the Clinton way.
December 10, 2007 - 21:16 ET by Airforce_5_OIt is the Clinton way. Put something bad out there and let someone else pay trhe price. Like mindless little minions they fall on the sword for them.

That's not the only problem
December 10, 2007 - 22:10 ET by FishFace222That's not the only problem with this. There will be people that will hear this crap but not hear the so called retraction and will therefore believe it's true.
Failure to grasp strategy
December 10, 2007 - 15:22 ET by KC MulvilleIf the GOP wants to keep the Democrats bogged down, they're not going to attack Obama. Quite the opposite. Every dollar that Hillary uses to fight Obama is a dollar she can't spend against the Republicans. So, the best result for the GOP is for the Democrats to waste resources on each other. The absolutely best result for the GOP is to deadlock them, for as long as possible.
So the idea that the GOP is attacking Obama is simply ridiculous. The GOP wants Obama to stay competitive.
Right now, if Obama is being attacked, he's wise to look to his fellow Democrats as the culprits. No one in the GOP wants to hurt him.
I agree, KC. Besides, the
December 10, 2007 - 16:09 ET by Ken ShepherdI agree, KC. Besides, the GOP field is too fluid for anyone to focus on bashing the Democratic prospectives too harshly just yet.
MSM needs to look up definition of Swift Boating
December 10, 2007 - 15:38 ET by JayTeeThe Word "Truth" I think shows up in the definition, and the Press has taken the wrong license to use the word.
Hillary is going to write a new entry for "Lock Box" when it comes to her tactics.....

The liberal new-speak
December 10, 2007 - 21:35 ET by c5thenThe swift boat veterans were getting the truth out about a liar and a charlatan. To swift boat someone means to expose the real truth that they'd rather not have exposed. Hillary and her left-wing liberal crowd are the regular run-of-the-mill slanderers and liars and character assassins.
The day that "politician" became a career choice is the day we started losing the Republic. Let's get it back! Alan Keyes '08.
more new-speak
December 10, 2007 - 23:38 ET by AndanteBingo. Anyone who read Unfit for Command knows that the swift boat vets were able to withstand every attempt to discredit their story. To be "swift boated" should correctly mean that "you're lies have been exposed by someone telling the truth" (You listening catsup boy and obtw, we're still waiting for you to release all your records as promised?)
Speaking of "liberal new-speak", "Spin Control", "the act or practice of attempting to manipulate the way an event is interpreted by others," came out during the Clinton's desecration of the White House years and most of what America is supposed to stand for. In my book the short definition would be "to lie".
"Hillary Clinton, Swiftboater"?...nah, that would presume she is telling the truth all the time.
