I didn't post earlier on this subject because I couldn't put my frustrations re: Amanpour's report into concise prose.  I was so angry; being new to this, I just couldn't organize my thoughts. I'm sure the more I post--and read other posts here--I'll hone that skill.

 Whlile the CNN "special" may have some merits, 2 of the 3 segments could have been reduced greatly. We all know that Jews & Christians have their share of whackjobs, but we also know that there is a much higher number of Muslims who are nuts.

If you wish to watch Christiane Amanpour's 3 part special, do so. But If one really wants to know what's happened & what will come down the road, read/listen Mark Steyn's book "America Alone, The end of the world as we know it". It is a no nonsense fact based look at what is happening between Islam & the west. The demographics he points out will scare the crap out of you if you care at all about the future of western civilization.

I say Amanpour is a Jew-hating bastard. She has been a hater of Israel with her bias reporting. Listen to or read any of her reports about Israel; this Muslim-sympathizer is a pathetically ignorant fool. This is just another example of her hateful views towards the Jewish people. G-d will surely deliver the Jewish people from her venom. May her tongue develop permanent painful blisters for every lie she utters against all of Israel.

Jerusalem/Temple Mount, and The Holy Places

• Amanpour says: "It was from here, according to Muslim scripture, that the Prophet Mohammed ascended to heaven around the year 630. But Hebrew scripture puts the ancient Jewish Temple in the same location, destroyed by the Romans in the year 70. For the next 1,900 years, even the last remnant of the temple known as the Wailing Wall, or the Western Wall, was lost to the Jews."

a) Muslim scripture refers to Mohammed ascending to heaven from the "farthest mosque," which could not have been on the Temple Mount, since the mosque there wasn't built until well after the death of Mohammed. 
b) The Western Wall is part of the Temple Mount complex—not the actual Temple.  It is a remnant of the retaining wall built to extend and flatten the Temple Mount.  There are indeed actual remains of the First and Second Temples on the Temple Mount.
c) Although Amanpour notes the holiness of the Temple Mount to Jews and Muslims, and some Jews in clips say that it is the holiest site for Jews, she never points this out herself, nor does she mention that Hebron is Judaism's second holiest city with its second holiest shrine.
d) Amanpour interviews the Muslim Grand Mufti of Jerusalem to give a Muslim perspective on the Al Aqsa Mosque, but no Jewish Rabbinical figure is presented to discuss the paramount religious importance of the Temple Mount to Jews.

Unfortunately, about 15% of those OBL types think they do represent Islam.That's
about 200 million of them worldwide, or more than half the population of the USA.

Also, there are more than 10 million Muslims in the U.S. Using that 15% number, that means there are, potentially, about 1.5 million here who buy into OBL's version of Islam.

Now THAT'S a scary thought.

CNN and the other leftist news media outlets seem to be hell bent on starting a war between secularists and people of faith. They take every opportunity to bash Christianity by unfairly beating the drum that "religion" is the source of violent extremism ala Moslem jihadists. This tactic seems to be working in the US with those who are ignorant of what American Christians and Jews believe, teach, and support, mainly secularists and atheists on the left and right coasts, and mainly liberals. This path, if left unchecked will lead the American Left down the path to National Socialism (Neo-Nazism) by embracing the Populist ideals of Al Gore and his Climate cabal. This will take the form of (and I am using a newly coined word here) "Eco-Nazism" which will teach the public that the Earth and its "peace loving" Eco-citizens are in direct danger from Oil companies, electric power generating utilities, organized religion, and people who own SUV's. Soon climate "scientists", United Nations diplomats, EPA gun toting Agents, Earth day promoters, and abortion doctors will be issued with a Red arm band with a crooked symbol of a Hurricane and will begin bashing in the windshields of SUV's in a modern day version of kristallnacht.
