Time.com Picks Liberal Guest Blogger Despite Call for Conservative Guests by Facebook Readers

On August 1, I wrote about how Time.com's "Swampland" blog was soliciting suggestions for guest bloggers on its 39-member Facebook group home page. I gave NewsBusters readers the address and sure enough some of you left suggestions in the topic thread.

[For NewsBusters' home on Facebook, check here.]

As of publication of this blog post, there were but a few liberal suggestions (such as strategist James Carville) from members of the "Swampland" Facebook group, but the vast majority of suggestions leaned rightward and included such names as Ace, Mary Katharine Ham of TownHall, independent Iraq-based journalist Michael Yon, Patterico, and libertarian writer P.J. O'Rourke.

So given two weeks to digest input from Facebook, who have the editors at Time.com chosen as a guest blogger? None other than liberal activist Ralph Neas of the People for the American Way (PFAW), who is guesting on the site from August 13-17.

Among the laundry list of PFAW's lefty agenda items is granting amnesty to illegals and defending the federal death tax.

Previously "Swampland" has given guest blogging privileges to liberal writer and former "Crossfire" host Michael Kinsley and to former Rep. Dick Armey (R-Tex.), now president of the D.C.-based FreedomWorks think tank.

And you find this...

Let's hear your "serious" responses to this. ;-)

Who said that NewsBusters is

Who said that NewsBusters is supposed to report only surprising news?

It's called for the record

wildcatter.

If we don't point out information like this, chances are it won't get reported at all.

Sorry, but...

you misunderstood the direction I was trying to nudge the comments. I was seeking others witty comments not unlike the Weekend Captionfests.

Actually, I don't find it surprising. I find it depressing instead. I have to agree with Rush Limbaugh when he says that the"drive-by media" aka the MSM or dinosaur media is the only business that responds to losing customers by going further down the path that is driving those very same customers away. Just look at NBC's viewership as they have moved further and further left.

Time selected the world's

Time selected the world's most virulent America hating leftist freak Ralph Niece because in the future when it selects other guest bloggers, Time can show how it is "moderating" its selection.  To demonstrate that Time is becoming more "moderate", next week's guest blogger will be Osama bin Laden.

Wait, there was a vote, and the winners were....

...told to STFU and like it?   Sounds like my MA legislature.
