With Senator Hillary Clinton’s speech at the Democratic Convention, the co-hosts of "Good Morning America" could not get over their awe for the Clintons. On the August 27 edition, at the end of George Stephanopoulos’ analysis, the co-hosts debated exactly how Former President Bill Clinton expressed his love for his wife, with Chris Cuomo believing the former president stated "I love forever and ever."
SAWYER: Okay, I'm going to finish up with something because we were arguing about it here. Do we have reracked President Clinton from his seat up in the stands? We're disagreeing. You think he's saying what, Chris Cuomo?
CHRIS CUOMO: I think I love -- I love you forever and ever.
STEPHANOPOULOS: It's three I love yous.
SAWYER: No, I think I love you, I love you, I love you.
STEPHANOPOULOS: It's three I love yous.
SAWYER: Everybody at home can weigh in. Let us know what you think. Thanks to you, George. It's great.
With GMA's apparent DNC fashion obsession, Diane Sawyer giddily reported Hillary Clinton’s choice of color. Noting the orange pantsuit and blue background, Sawyer compared it to the colors of the hometown Denver Broncos.
"And one other small note, you probably saw the picture yesterday of Senator Clinton's parade of pantsuits. They were testing the colors during her -- I love the guys up there testing the color of the suit. Well, as you know, they wanted to know which went best with a blue background and decided on the bright orange pantsuit. Couldn't have been lost on any Broncos fans out here in Denver. She was the ultimate fan because there it is blue and orange, colors of the Broncos."

Three I Love Yous
August 27, 2008 - 09:19 ET by Dr_LibertyThat was one for Hillary.
One for Chelsea.
And one for that sexy blonde in the third row!

August 27, 2008 - 09:34 ET by BlondeI burst out laughing when I saw that last night.
Then....IMO, the very very best part of the speech...Hillary's opening.
IIRC, "I'm here as a mother, a US Senator, a daughter, a proud American, and a supporter of Barak Obama."
Oops....where's that loving hubby in that line-up? Seriously, what married person on the planet wouldn't thank their spouse, particularly one such as Her Highness who's qualifications for any office consist soley of riding said hubby's coat tails?
P.S. Diane.....that was Tennessee Volunteer orange, you simp!
P.S.S. Michelle looked like she was sucking a lemon, doncha think?

Blonde - that stuck out to me as well
August 27, 2008 - 09:56 ET by Dee Bunkthen I was thinking maybe "wife" just doesn't fit with the feminist message.
I do have to say that Bill Clinton's body language was very telling. I completely sensed his annoyance with everything about being there. When Hillary appeared his body language changed completely. I don't know if it was a calculated act or what but his admiration for her came off very sincere to me.
He really seems to take the whole thing so personal like he was the one who had been rejected.
Exactly, Dee
August 27, 2008 - 10:02 ET by BlondeI hadn't thought of it that way, but he has taken Hillary's loss personally...maybe because he had such a big hand in it with all of his stupid statements. He knows it's his fault, if he had just kept his big mouth shut, this most likely would have been Hillary's coronation.
Oh, and I misquoted HRC, she put the word "proud" in front of each of her qualifiers, and said "Democrat", not "daughter" (I knew it started with a D).
But I find it extremely telling that she omitted "spouse", "wife", or, perhaps in her case, "life partner". They've been together for 35 years or somesuch. Most peculiar.

It's not Gator orange, for sure! (and you notice I am studiously avoiding the blue background....yes?)

Blonde,
August 27, 2008 - 13:06 ET by DEVILDOCMOMI had not worked my way down to this post and commented on this on a "newer" thread. Yes, really odd regarding not thanking bill...I said the same thing this morning to my family as we were discussing issues-that she would NEVER be where she was without bill.
Agreed, DDM
August 27, 2008 - 13:16 ET by BlondeI couldn't believe it. It was incredibly odd...but with Hillary, who knows? I suspect she's still hugely pi**ed at Bill for ruining her ill-thought out campaign (enough blame to go around there).
The interesting thing to see though, will be whether they go back to their separate (pre-election) ways. And whether she'll even stay with him. If McCain wins, she will....if not, I think it's divorce court for sure.
The only thing I thought was genuine during her speech was the look on Michelle's face. Pure hatred.

Speaking of faces
August 27, 2008 - 13:27 ET by DEVILDOCMOMblonde, did you notice hill looked MUCH better than she did a few months ago?
And regarding michelle, how phony was that foursome meeting when biden was announced between bho, michelle, biden and mrs. biden...I truly had to laugh at that meeting. All the hugs were so over the top.
I agree DDM - Hillary looked and sounded much better
August 27, 2008 - 13:54 ET by Dee Bunkthan she ever has. Normally when she would talk it was like nails on a chalkboard. I don't know what happened. I think if she would have come across like she did last night, she would have won. But I guess the media were giving us the snippets they wanted and if she had some good moments like this they weren't showing them.
Dee
August 27, 2008 - 14:03 ET by BlondeCheck out the link on Drudge....the docs are suggesting she had micro-laser surgery.
As for her sounding better, she's rested. She really did keep up a brutal campaign schedule, so no wonder she was tired and shrill.
If I were she, I'd invest some of those millions in voice modulation lessons (even her best friend said she can't sing...no kidding, remember the National Anthem on YouTube?).
Good riddance, though. I can't wait to see the tail end her broom as she rides it out of the stadium Thursday night.

Good riddance is right Blonde
August 27, 2008 - 14:22 ET by Dee Bunkbut, I'd still rather have her than Obama. I just really hope McCain can pull off an upset.
I do think the media hype and over adulation of Obama is part of what has hurt him lately. People hear over and over what a great charismatic orator and he is and all this overly adoring stuff about everything he does and then when they see him he doesn't live up to the hype. Saddleback and the Debates with Hillary showed how lackluster he really was. You can edit anyones speech to make them look better or worse but when it's a live debate - it is what it is.
Now at the convention - we hear all these stories and things about him and it just rings flat because it's all been said so many times before. Even though I've known about Obama's far left positions and never liked him as a candidate, I did buy into the hype of him being so charismatic and such a great orator. It's taken me many times of seeing him to realize that he didn't just have a bad day but that he really isn't that great. The edited short soundbites of him always come across well though.
I'm really curious to see his acceptance speech but I won't see it unless he starts late or I can get home earlier than anticipated.
Blonde,
August 27, 2008 - 15:01 ET by DEVILDOCMOMI did not see that discussion regarding micro laser surgery, but I am guessing at her age it was more than that. This is not dissing her age, I am pretty close to it.
I agree with you regarding voice lessons, she really needs them and not just for singing. She may ride out on Thursday, but she will be back and sooner than we would like.

August 27, 2008 - 14:43 ET by CooltomAbout the reaction shots of Bill in the cheap seats -- c'mon...
Bill had to have read an advance copy of the speech if not had a hand in writing it. Those shots of him reacting to Hill's laugh lines or the praise of the Clinton regime were totally phony and staged. Bill knew beforehand when the red camera light was on him.
