MSNBC Ad: Hyper Partisan Olbermann Calls to 'Ignore Partisanship'

If Rush Limbaugh, in promoting his radio show, said we must "ignore partisanship," would anyone take those words seriously? Limbaugh did not air that ad, but left wing MSNBC host Keith Olbermann did. In an MSNBC "Decision 2008" ad, Olbermann spoke of the need to "ignore partisanship" under inspirational music and prominent American flag displays.

"We as citizens must at some point ignore partisanship, not that we may prosper as a nation, but that merely we may function as a nation."

Video (22 seconds): Windows Media (1.32 MB), plus MP3 audio (158 kB).

The ad then displayed a large photo of Olbermann followed by a brief slideshow of all of the MSNBC/NBC political correspondents. The Daily Kos blogger should explain when his highly partisan show will "ignore partisanship."Olbermann has called President Bush a "fascist" "engaging in terrorism," a "liar" and "idiot in chief." He even asked if there is an element in the Republican party that wants to re-segregate America.

Also of irony, was MSNBC’s prominent American flag displays. Back in 2002, then NBC Nightly News anchor Tom Brokaw explained that he does not wear an American flag on his lapel pin because he feels it’s an implied endorsement of the Bush administration.

That's just it, he does see himself as down the middle. Oh sure, he might be the most over the top, fly off the handle, lefty in cablenews, & that's saying something.

If he does in fact believe he is really down the center & fair, then he is suffering from a form of dimentia. He is the guy you see in pro wrestling who breaks every rule in the book to win, & when he's asked about it later says he won fair & square. He must be surrounded with people who only praise him, never a critical word to be heard. This only confirms to me that the inmates are in charge of the prison at MSNBC, & I can't wait to hear the stories about the BathTubBoy era in the near future.

Look, enjoy BathTubBoy while you can, he is a clown & does'nt know it. The worst thing that one can do to a guy like BathTubBoy is laugh at him, not WITH him, AT him. From reports/rumors I've heard/read, some women have done just that. Just remember this, he's going down the same road that Rosie went down. She got so nutty acting out everyday on "The View", she became radioactive, he's doing the same exact thing. He's acting out, kick back, relax, & wait for the final act. He will do something to hang himself, & get suspended or sacked. He then will do what he does so very well, he will project, blaming everyone but the @-hole in the mirror for his problems.

Agreed. Just the little clips I see here are enough to convince me of that.

Mr. Shy, I really do appreciate all your hard work in compiling that list but there is NO WAY that I can watch that much Olbermann. I didn't even make it all the way through the first one.

Yes, the left's idea of being "nonpartisan" is agreeing completely with its agenda. Anybody who has principles that are at odds with those of liberals are "partisan". I think much of the mainstream media refers to "partisan Republicans" about 100 times more often than "partisan Democrats". To much of the press, there is no such thing as a partisan Democrat or a "liberal extremist".

Keith Olbermann couldn't go one day without ignoring partisanship. I know because I've seen his show. His show is nothing more than an hour long bash fest of conservatives. He has called Republicans "terrorists" and has compared President Bush to Nazis. He has also said that Fox News is "worse than Al Qaeda and the KKK".

To know what Olberdork actually said, you have to understand liberalese. In liberalese, according to the Democrat Newspeak-English Dictionary, "partisanship" is when Republicans refuse to bend over and take it you-know-where by the Democrats. Whereas "bipartisanship", like "compromise" is when Republicans give in to everything the Democrats want without any griping or debate. Once you recognise these definitions, what Olbermann says makes perfect sense ... in bizarroland, the place where Herr Olbermann lives, works, and has his being.
