Joy Behar warned of the imminent "Republican attack machine" and of course it’s "lethal." On the February 12 edition of "The View," the co-hosts discussed, surprisingly, that Obama has been getting excellent press. They must have gotten the permission from the Clinton campaign to say that. Sherri Shepherd then noted, if Obama wins the Democratic nomination "it’s going to be unleashed with force."
Joy Behar then jumped in on the "Republican attack machine" and alluded to some attacks against Vietnam veterans such as Max Cleland and John Kerry and promised Obama will get "swift boated." Behar maybe missed the point that John McCain is the Vietnam veteran in the race and Barack Obama has no military service. Who could literally get "swift boated?"
The entire transcript is below.
SHEPHERD: No, I was just going to say is that Obama has not had nearly the negative press that Hillary has had, so if it is him against McCain-
GOLDBERG: Well, just wait.
SHEPHERD: Yeah, that’s what I’m saying.
GOLDBERG: Just wait.
SHEPHERD: If he goes up against McCain it’s going to be unleashed with force.
BEHAR: The Repub- they talk about the Clinton attack machine. The Republican attack machine is lethal and-
WALTERS: Well, we haven’t heard it yet.
BEHAR: Listen, it wasn’t the Democrats who said that Max Cleland shot himself in the leg or something. You remember that story? These veterans, that they come back from a war. They’re wounded, they’re injured and then they say that they didn’t even get hurt? I mean it’s crazy stuff.
WALTERS: That was with John Kerry. That was the swift boat.
BEHAR: This swift boating. Well, he will be swift boated. Believe me. Believe me.
SHEPHERD: Hillary has been going through that. She’s braced herself.
BEHAR: She knows how to handle the swift boating. On the other hand, because he’s an African American, they may tip toe around him a little bit because they don’t want to be accused of racism.
GOLDBERG: Well, they’ll couch it in different language.
BEHAR: Well, yeah.
GOLDBERG: But, you’ll know what it is. I mean, come on, this is something I can speak to real clearly. I know when somebody is calling me the "n" word and smiling in my face. I know what they mean. You know, it’s very clear.
[applause]
BEHAR: But, you know what? If that happens, we’re going to say it. We’ll call it out.
GOLDBERG: If what happens?
BEHAR: If there are subversive statements- believe me we’ll be there.
GOLDBERG: I will do interpretive translation.

Joy is definitely one card short of a full deck. That's the way they like them on ABC.
Behar
February 12, 2008 - 18:26 ET by capavShe also brought up that incident with McCain when a female questioner asked him about beating the "bitch". She was outraged that it didn't get any media coverage (which isn't true). But she made no mention of the Hillary fan who cllled President Bush a "bastard". I'm guessing she doesn't even know about it since all she reads is Media Matters. I sent The View an e-mail to catch her up. Will it be mentioned tomorrow? I doubt it.
She reads?

Let us take up a donation
February 12, 2008 - 18:53 ET by Lame CherryOk for the sake of this nation, I submit we must take up a donation for Joy Behar. There must be a dozen good looking men who are almost deaf so they wouldn't have to listen to Behar and they could write her letters telling her how hot she was............
Ok so they would have to be partly blind too, but Joy Behar like all women like her are just in need of a man and are bitchy because the liberal boys they date use em and dump em.
Maybe we could also set up a donation so she could get a boob job as she seems desperate to have cleavage and is probably angry over her boobs being pinched by those tight bras.
A mule that bucks usually has a burr under her saddle........let's get Joy a few men to lie to her to make her happy and a boob job to give her boobs relief and all of us can take a breath and take the ear plugs out.

Pre-labeled answers
February 12, 2008 - 19:37 ET by KC MulvilleHillary has been doing this for years. Any question she doens't like, she just calls it an "attack," and then refuses to answer it. That's how she escapes scrutiny. Of course, now she's facing Obama, and her former enablers in the party and MSM aren't letting her get away with that old trick. She's collapsing as a result. As I said a long time ago, one little prick, and her balloon has popped.
Obama will face the same. He's all air. All it will take is one little question to pop his bubble. And since his advisors and consultants know that he'll collapse, they're doing all they can to prevent Obama from facing tough questions. They're trying to shield Obama just like they've been shielding Hillary. They're portraying any tough question as "hit piece" just to prevent Obama from having to answer.
He'll collapse, just like she has.

Instead of wasting time and space
February 13, 2008 - 05:17 ET by lumpyon Joy Behar and The View, shouldn't Newsbusters focus more on the bias of the supposedly 'neutral' news anchors this election season?
I've been watching the MSNBC Potomac primary tonight and they throw around terms like 'conservative,' 'right-wing,' and even 'extreme right-wing' when discussing the Republicans but I have not once heard the terms 'liberal,' 'left-wing' or 'extreme left-wing' used during discussions of the Dems.
And they have that Air American gal, Maddow, and Olberman, that Bush-hating hack, sitting there on their news panel during their primary coverage.

so you will make up the meaning of whatever is said and then spew it on national TV?
Swift-boating is a good thing...
February 13, 2008 - 11:37 ET by Thalpy"Swift-boating" is a good thing; we have allowed it's definition to be perverted. Over 200 honorable men gave their testimony about John Kerry's war and, for the most part, none of their testimony has been refuted. Behar and others have used the term "swift boating" to serve their agenda. "Swift boating" simply means telling the truth. If the truth mattered to those on The View, they would not use the term "swift boating" improperly.
Is she serious?
February 13, 2008 - 12:41 ET by djm159The only person attacking Obama is the Clinton campaign, aka Slick Willy. Seems Ms. Behar missed that. It is a hallmark of today's political correctness that because Obama is black he is immune from criticism. If you criticize him of course your either a racist or swift boating him. Did it ever occur to Ms. Behar that the swift boating was true? Making up false documents and trying to destroy President Bush and getting CBS (Dan Rather) to break the lies must have escaped Ms. Behar's notice. All I have ever heard Obama say is that he wants open borders, socialized medicine, to have a cup of tea with Amidinejad and to bomb Pakistan. Now if that is racist or swift boating, guilty as charged.
