Is Whoopi Goldberg becoming the Rosie O’Donnell type bully? It appeared that way on the October 3 edition of “The View.” A discussion about Hillary Clinton’s $5,000 a baby entitlement plan quickly descended into a heated exchange between Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Whoopi Goldberg about abortion.
When Hasselbeck noted that $5,000 a baby could lead to fewer abortions in the world, Whoopi told Hasselbeck to “back off” because Hasselbeck has never “been in a position” where she “had to make that decision.”
Whoopi, who claimed to march in a NARAL rally with Katie Couric, also added Elisabeth should have “a little bit of reverence” to the women who had abortions and then spread propaganda about women “found bleeding dead with hangers in their bodies.”
Full transcript below the jump. Watch the video over at Ian Schwartz's blog.
HASSELBECK: I was very- at heart, I'm very against this policy because I believe it’s more of a gift.
BEHAR: Are you against Social Security, too?
HASSELBECK: No. Against this policy, but then I realized that there is a benefit because I feel like this could maybe cause less abortions in the world. You know, people would keep having kids instead.
GOLDBERG: Elisabeth, Elisabeth, can I ask you one question–can I ask you a question? I just have to ask you this question since you opened this door.
HASSELBECK: Sure
GOLDBERG: Have you ever been in a position to have to make that decision?
HASSELBECK: Never, never.
GOLDBERG: Okay, then back off a little bit. Back off a little bit. Very few people want to have abortions.
HASSELBECK: I'm sure they don't.
GOLDBERG: See, I was listening.
HASSELBECK: I was just affirming what you said.
GOLDBERG: Most people do not want to have abortions. Most women do not have them with some sort of party going on. It is the hardest decision that a woman ever- wait- ever has to make. So, when you talk about it, a little bit of reverence to the women out there who have had to make this horrible decision. And one of the reasons that, that we have had to make this decision is because so many women were found bleeding, dead, with hangers in their bodies because they were doing it themselves. The idea of this was to make it safe and clean. That was the reason the law came into effect. That was why it was done.

And who the hell does Whoopie think she is telling Elizabeth to "back off"? The show is called "THE VIEW"! Not "Whoopie's View" or "The Liberal View Only, Please". I'm getting so sick of this supression of conservative viewpoints. Come on Whoopie, let's have a debate about abortion! What's the matter, are you afraid someone might actually be persuaded from being pro-abortion to pro-life?

October 3, 2007 - 16:33 ET by drillanwrAny number of banners and signs carried at pro-abortion rallies in D.C. can be completely offensive and irreverent ... But some can be absolutely maniacal ... “Barbara [Bush] Made the Wrong Choice”
So while I'm sure Whoopi feels (and it's all about feelings with liberals) she was giving "pro-choice" women a warm and reaffirming hug by slapping Elizabeth around, a lot of women see abortion as after-the-fact birth control.
And many who insist on showing up at these rallies seem to have a warped sense oc other people's choices, Whoopi ... When women who have had an abortion show up with their "I regret having my abortion" signs they are met with “Born-Again Bigots” and “You regret your abortion? That’s your fault! Make your man wear a condom!”

Whoopi's Abortions
October 4, 2007 - 08:15 ET by kiwikitShe's said that she's had SEVEN abortions so I don't think she's capable of speaking out on the subject. Apparently, like all Democrats, she has no shame and so feels no regret for the seven children she's killed. Do we want our children watching this woman? I don't think so! Not a worthy role model particularly for girls in her race who already are getting pregnant so SOMEONE will care for them!

Secondly, if that's your standard, what about the many women who have had abortions and later regretted it so much that they became leaders in the pro-life movement?
The thing that really struck a nerve with Whoopi-Do is the exposed hypocrisy of her Party (and her furher Frau Clintler) which wants to pay $2500 a piece to kill babies, and give $5000 to each one that makes it out of the delivery room.

October 3, 2007 - 16:27 ET by sarcasmoI think this says it all, the "conservative" is of course pro Social Security despite the fiscal facts. I guess that's almost-forgiveable, considering the failed program's mysterious "third rail" fact-defying popularity. Then, to top it off, the "conservative" is also for Hillary's huge new giveaway (which will have 0 effect on abortion-rates, IMO) despite a sea of red ink & the threat of looming inflation from current spending levels.
Such intellectual diversity! We see here a typical media-induced "choice" between pro-big-government views and pro-big-government views! TV producers are so dimwitted with their hires sometimes...

(Of course, there are probably a lot of people around here that would think that was awesome, but I digress).
Let's face it, liberals, who are irresponsible literally to the point of insanity, only support abortion for one reason, and one reason only:
Their very own selfishness.
Libs, by and large, refuse to take responsibility for their own actions. They want to go out and have a good time, but they do not wish to deal with the consequences of that little romp. If they cannot blame it on someone else (their usual MO), then they will take out the inconvenient reality of their irresponsibility. In many cases, that means that unborn children, who have done nothing to anyone, die.

Great story ... My
October 4, 2007 - 01:12 ET by drillanwrGreat story ... My immigrant Grandparents were married in 1921. Back then the doctor came to your house and you had the babies at home.
My Grandparents' first born was giving my grandmother such a hard time that the doctor came down stairs and told my gruff Hungarian Grandfather he would have to choose between the baby or his wife. My Grandfather, using one of his most favorite and colorful "American" words told the doctor, "Both ... or the undertaker will be carrying your f***ing a** out with them ..." (Used that word a lot when watching boxing on b/w TV)
Poor doctor had to come back to the house six more times to deliver babies with my Grandpap puffing Camel cigarette smoke in his direction (like some angry dragon) on his way up the stairs.
But the real irony here was that as a young girl in Hungary, my Grandmother would accompany her mother, who was one of the local mid-wives, to homes to help the doctor there deliver babies. She was "grooming" her to become a mid-wife. One case involved a mother who was having terrible trouble. As my Grandmother described it, the baby was just too big, and the mother too small. After a very long struggle, and C-sections NOT common or routine in WWI Hungary, the doctor performed what we today call late-term abortion ... or both would have been lost. Remember, my Grandmother was not but a girl. She stood there and watched in horror.

Also, if abortion is not big deal, why do politicians pledge to make it "rare"? There are 3700 abortions every day in the US. What number should we get it down to, to have it considered "rare"?

Baba Wawa is scared of
October 3, 2007 - 23:02 ET by L.N. SmitheeElisabeth Hasselbeck is on The View for one reason, and one only: Of all the conservative women who might agree to be the token on the panel, she's the easiest one of all to dismiss.
Barbara Walters, coward that she is, wouldn't dare have an articulate conservative commentator like, for example, Kellyanne Conway, Star Parker, or Laura Ingraham (that is, #1 New York Times bestselling author Laura Ingraham) sit beside her. They are too learned and self-assured to be drowned out by the likes of two-bit comedian Joy Behar, Washed-up Whoopi, or Baba Wawa herself. To stack the deck for her side, she counterbalanced a Demo-left-antiwar-proabortion panel with someone whose previous claim to fame is Survivor.
However, in Hasselbeck's defense: Lightweight that she is, the one time she stood up for herself and wasn't cowed into submission by Rosie the Blitherer, it was too much for O'Donnell to take -- she ran off with her curled tail between her legs and never returned. That's what Walters is afraid of: a conservative continually besting the leftie ladies on their own turf.

Furthermore, Elisabeth was most likely never put in that position because she made sure she never would be put in that position.
Now, about this $5,000 baby thing. Since they brought up social security, how about this: Instead of using $5,000 to set up a college fund, how about using the $5,000 to set up a retirement fund instead? That money invested over 65 years would end up being 1-2 million dollars at retirement age, or more. That would mean we could eliminate the social security scam altogether.

I know two women who have had abortions
October 3, 2007 - 16:38 ET by american-americanGOLDBERG: Most people do not want to have abortions. Most women do not have them with some sort of party going on. It is the hardest decision that a woman ever- wait- ever has to make.
The two that I know that have had them, were very willing, one of them had several before she turned 21, she was my sister's best friend's sister. Everybody talked about how much of a tramp she was. The other, she was in her 30's and went for her third. I took her to the clinic, (it was a turning point for me). She was in the middle of a divorce, and had gotten pregnant. She told me that her husband raped her and she got pregnant and couldn't bear to have the child. At the clinic, she asked me to accompany her into the procedure because she was afraid. I did, and I will never in my life forget how horrifying that moment was.(the suction hose method) I cried for a long time when I got home. It was a sick feeling in my gut I couldn't get rid of. Before that, I always thought it was a choice to be made by that person. After seeing how disgusting it is, how inhumane, my position changed. Her husband found out about it somemehow. Turned out, he had a vascectomy 10 years prior, it wasn't his. (He was a rich older man, she was a sexy young woman), There was no rape, and she admitted it was her third abortion in the court hearing for the divorce. Needless to say, I have not spoken to her since.
It is nothing but a form of birth control for alot of women, and they pretend that it is a sad day for them, then go do it again when they get knocked up again. Character flaw. period.
So the chickenhawk rhetoric is being extended to abortion now?

Meanwhile, leading the pack for the Democratic Presidential Nomination are Hillary Clinton (no military service) and Barack Obama (no military service). Democrats call Rush Limbaugh and Dick Cheney "draft dodgers" but they elected Bill Clinton Commander-in-Chief.
How dare I say Clinton's a draft-dodger? Here's how: Slick Willie sought a deferment by deceiving a University of Arkansas ROTC instructor into thinking he wanted to serve as an officer, when in truth, as he wrote the instructor later, he "loath[ed] the military," and had deceived him.
Who said so? The ROTC instructor -- disgusted that Clinton was running for President -- released Clinton's letter.

Whooperganda from the Soviet View
October 3, 2007 - 16:41 ET by Lame CherrySure Whoopie, 6 million dead babies were all from women who "didn't want to have an aborticide procedure". How utterly ignorant is that!
I know through friends or as school friends a number of women who had aborticide. One had one before "it was legal". There were no coat hangers but the hot little number never was able to have kids, because of it.
Two girls in school had I believe 6 aborticides between them in sexing it up non stop.
Another is the rather plump step daughter of a now divorced friend. Hubby was living his second teenage years and abandoned the kid who decided being wanted was in gang bangs being used by black ghetto trash who were daddy to a host of knocked up Nellies.
Do not even try and go there Whooper with your propaganda as MOST of the women who are butchering or scalding babies in the womb did it to cover up being tramps. The majority of them are not raped in any form........it is all about getting rid of a problem so the fornication can continue.
The one thing that is missing in this is if Liz Hasselbeck had a brain she would have pointed out that she is was never in that position, because she is intelligent, not a tramp, has morals and wasn't out getting doped up or drunk so they were date raped by the jerk stalker they were flirting with.
Aborticides occur not from being forced into anything or any position. Women are doing it because they are getting rid of a life which they don't want to deal with.

October 3, 2007 - 17:02 ET by KC MulvilleThe fact that you morally oppose abortion as an option doesn't mean you haven't been in position to make that decision. My wife and I have four children. We tried to be responsible about when to have children, and not add more to the family if we couldn't afford it, but a couple times, reality disrupted our plans. (I don't know about you, but Reality often does that to me.) There came a couple times when it suddenly became financially difficult (OK, disastrous) to have the baby. My wife and I are both devout Catholics, so we never considered any other course than to continue. But we were certainly in the position that Whoopi Goldberg refers to.
My point is that Whoopi's condescending lecture reveals how shallow she is, instead of making her look wiser. She misses the most important issue: abortion is a moral decision, not a financial gamble. Reality doesn't force you to have an abortion, so skip the pretense that if you were in that position, you'd think differently. My wife and I have been in that position, and our morality didn't change.
Abortion is a moral decision about what life is, not a financial decision about what you can afford or risk. If your opinion on abortion (or your morality in general) changes because of your finances, then you're too shallow to understand what morality is in the first place.

October 3, 2007 - 17:40 ET by drillanwr"Planned" my two daughters ... 1985 and 1988 ... A few years after my second daughter I found out I was pregnant. I was supposed to be Maid (Matron) Of Honor in my younger sister's wedding that summer, which would have me late in my last trimester (and according to the two previous pregnancies) have me wearing a tent. I was a little upset because my sister and I are very close and I wanted to stand beside her ... but NOT in a tent. My beloved sister gave me one hell of a verbal slapping about my priorities ... saying I was not being myself (the older sister she admired and wanted to be like <blush>) ... BTW, don't misunderstand and think I even thought about abortion ... Anyhow, she brought me back from my selfish vanity just in time for me to spend the next 3+ months on my back completely ill from the pregnancy.
Upon a routine OB visit the doctor was horrified to find I had dropped a lot of weight. He did an ultra sound and found the baby had died and was in the process of miscarrying ... I was literally devastated and didn't believe him that the baby's heart wasn't beating ... I just didn't believe what I was seeing on the monitor. So, he called up the street to a lab, called my husband, and we were sent for another ultrasound ... which confirmed the first. My doctor said I could just go home and spontaneously miscarry, or I could go into the hospital in the morning for a D/C (all I could think was that's an abortion!) He looked my husband in the eye and said, "If she were my wife she would be in the hospital O/R tomorrow morning." I STILL didn't believe him. I just was terrified of them being mistaken.
As fate would have it, the girls had Open House at our Catholic School, and my husband and I ran into our priest in the hall way. He could tell something was wrong in my face, so he took us into the chapel. We told him what was going on. I said how we'd planned our two daughters and hadn't planned this one ... To which he shook his head and said, "You planned nothing. Only G-d plans life." Then I told him how terrified I was about what if the doctors are wrong and I had the procedure and was aborting a baby ...? To which he told me to trust the knowledge G-d had given the doctors who were taking care of me. He met us at the hospital the next morning and stayed with my husband while I was in surgery ...
I was supposed to be out-patient ... But ended up staying, as I "bled out" in surgery and my pressure dropped drastically. When the doctor came into recovery he told my husband and me that had we opted to go home and wait for a miscarriage I might have bled to death before I got to the hospital.
I guess what I'm saying is, wasn't an easy "choice" ... even knowing the baby was not alive.
I don't know why I shared all that, but thought I would because you did ...

Especially after that women's magazine interviewed some women whose hearts are hard as nails and would actually go on record saying having an abortion was the best decision they could ever make. It allowed one women to have her career, all it cost was one baby sacrificed on the altar!

Whoopi is so full of hate and disdain for conservatives that she is in full attack mode, making any thoughtful person unable to counter her views. Maybe if they made a tougher decision not to get pregnant in the first place, abortion would not be considered as a form of birth control by liberals.
Seems to me ...
October 3, 2007 - 19:31 ET by drillanwr... deciding to have an abortion is a bit easier than deciding to have the baby and either give it up for adoption, or sacrifice a piece of your selfish nature and raise the child to be as good a human being as possible.
What's even easier is deciding to either NOT have sex, or to at least practice safe sex ...
(I'm sorry ... The rape excuse doesn't hold water with me. You're raped, you report it, you go to the hospital, they do their thing ... and I don't wnat to hear the woman's too scared ... I know I'll get slammed for that one.)
I'm not in the dark ages. I'm with Tammy Bruce on this one. Education on personal sexual responsibility and contraception, in this ... the 21st century ... SHOULD be far outweighing the need for abortion. The fact that we STILL have a teen pregnancy rate worth measuring tells me the liberal "sex education" system has failed miserably.
Here's an idea for a PSA for Planned Parenthood or "Pro-choice" advocates ... Hell, for Pro-Life advocates:
Since the left in this country is so fond of using children/teens to push their point/agenda we'll be using kids of sexually active age ...
Each will be shown for a second, as in those `give us government free healthcare' ads. Each will look into the camera and declare "I'm "Pro-choice" ... After a few the camera returns to the beginning of the line up and the kids then state "I'm pro-choice ... So I chose NOT to have sex ... or ... I'm pro-choice and I choose not to have sex, but if I do I choose to be responsible and practice safe sex ..."
At the end the kids say "I'm pro-choice and I choose to be a responsible individual ..."
Saw model Kathy Ireland on H&C a few years ago. She told Alan Colmes that she was pro-choice ... in much the same way. I about fell off the sofa!
There is NO defense of abortion!
October 3, 2007 - 20:53 ET by c5thenThe "Hardest decision" according to Whoopie is still a decision to kill a baby. There can be no justification to willfully kill a baby under any circumstances. It's that simple.
The reason that abortion was legalized in the Roe v Wade decision is because the pro-death side HUGELY exaggerated the statistics to make it seem that the issue was much bigger then it really was. They lied to the media, the public and the Supreme Court and that has been publicly admitted by the chief architect of the propaganda program.
Incidently, the left is using the exact same playbook in their health insurance hysteria. They got it to work before, they will attempt to get the lie past the masses again.

October 4, 2007 - 09:50 ET by ricklailHer birth name is Caryn Elaine Johnson. (Thanks to Cool Arrow for the info.) I quess she got Whoopi from watching too much Newlywed Game. Or because she was having so much whoopi. You know she killed 5 babies. Anybody that uses an alias has something to hide. The worst part is using an honored Jewish last name.

I can't wait until the day
October 4, 2007 - 07:15 ET by ricklailI can't wait until the day that the slut really goes off and lets her gutter mouth prevail. Then maybe ABC will get rid of her. It will happen. It's just a matter of time.
Who actually thinks that the Whoopi is any type of role model. I don't for one minute think that she had any misgivings about any of the babies that she killed.

October 4, 2007 - 10:54 ET by bassndudeI think all abortions, and I mean all, should be required to be done by C-section. The fetus placed in the mothers hands, and be required to take said fetus to the funeral home and provide proper funeral arangements. And bury the baby and include a headstone that says, "Here lies ____ Aborted by _____" and then the date and place and name of aborting Dr.

I was wrong. I thought W.
October 4, 2007 - 15:57 ET by 4arrowI was wrong. I thought W. had grown up. On the show she laughed about teaching her three year old grandson a filthy word which he promptly used in public in a restaurant to the horror of W's daughter.
So perhaps we should rethink the Clarence Thomas affair. Blame his African American Grandma.
}}---> 4Arrow what's that supposed to mean?
October 4, 2007 - 16:19 ET by Cool ArrowThat's an odd comparative leap. What do Whoopi Goldberg and Clarence Thomas have in common that would prompt you to make the comparison?
Please clear this up as I've got a really bad vibe on your post.
