MRC's Vice President for Business and Culture, Dan Gainor, appeared on Fox News Channel today to discuss a GOP Congressional Report that accused ACORN of political corruption and fraud.

"Happening Now" host Jane Skinner asked: "Dan, boil it down into the simplest terms: what the main accusation is here."

"Well, the main accusation is that they're breaking both election laws and tax laws while using they've got $53 million from the federal government over the last since 1994. And they've also got $2 million from Bank of America so we've actually bailed out ACORN. You and me and everybody watching. And so what the House is charging them, you know, the House Republicans are saying that they're using this money to boost the campaigns of Democratic officials whether it's Blagojevich or Obama or others," Gainor said.

He continued: "ACORN's been investigated, looked into. There was a lot of talk about this before the election, not a lot since then even though there's a lot going on."

Skinner also asked "if it's so blatant and so bad. If it's been going on for 15 years, how could they have gotten away with it for so long?"

"ACORN is hugely a Democratic operation. You know, you're gonna have a hard time even going after them now with Democrats running both houses of Congress. You know, Washington is a land of favors they've people look out for them," Gainor replied.

Not Likely

I applaud the effort, but it's not likely that anything will come of this. ACORN is without a doubt corrupt to the last dime. But, they are the street thugs of the Democrat party, and as long as the Dems control Congress and the White House, ACORN will be absolved of any accusations and continue to receive increasing amounts of your tax money.

I concur tt

Why would anyone be surprised at these allegations? Chicago thuggery at it's best. And their guy is in charge.

"What a revoltin' development this is!"

"Possible"???  They have

"Possible"???  They have always been a fraudulent organization.

It is relatively well-known they pay people to vote several times under different names at different precincts.

They are directly responsible for Al Franken's successful election theft.

No More Discussions

ACORN/ACLU have filed in PA to strike down a PA law used to prosecute voter registration. This will undoubtedly make it's way to Nevada

The nuts don't fall far...

"And they've also got $2 million from Bank of America so we've actually bailed out ACORN."

Well as long as they don't spend it in Vegas.

"If it's been going on for 15 years, how could they have gotten away with it for so long?"

FOX News wasn't around to warn us 15 years ago.

"ACORN is hugely a Democratic operation."

Just like the establishment media...what a coincidence.

Address please.

Please post the home address of any ACORN official here in Florida. Thank you and the huge Everglades National Park thanks you too.

Apology

Please do not give us Alcee Hastings' home address. We already have it.

Is this payola?

I believe that a lot of the funding for the ACORN Crime Syndicate is a type of payola. Someone like Barney will call up Bank of America and say, -'these negotiations over TARP are likely to go a whole lot better if you demonstrate good will by throwing some money at our friends at ACORN.'

If the ACORN Crime Syndicate is ever properly investigated, executives at companies that give money to them need to be put under oath and asked why they did so. Otherwise it simply makes no sense for Bank of America to be giving money to an organization that wants to destroy them.

Dan, Fox, and

Dan, Fox, and Julia...thanks for the video here and the work you're all doing regarding ACORN...this has been swept under the carpet for far too long....I hope I see the day when ACORN and sister groups are disbanded and all involved are prosecuted with the illegalities they have gotten away with over the years, including the politicians, especially the politicians....and O is one of them.

It is despicable tax dollars go to them by force.

Are they still using the Obama training manual?

Obama sued citi for rejecting loan apps from whiners and victums.

Don't touch the nuts at acorn.

Question - If ACORN is so corrupt why doesn't Dan Gainor

appear on CBS, NBC, ABC, CNN or MSNBC? Why does he only appear on FoxNews? Aren't the other networks concerned about political corruption and fraud?

You say what! The aforementioned news outlets don't discuss ACORN because ACORN is associated with their President and with their Democrat Party.

Okay. I understand. As Gilda Radner, playing Emily Litella on Saturday Night Live, was fond of saying: "Never Mind".

It's difficult for an individual citizen to take legal action...

The problem is that it's difficult for an individual citizen to take legal action against a publicly funded group like ACORN.  An individual can pursue civil action against ACORN if one could prove that ACORN had somehow caused them harm.  But any criminal action against ACORN would need to be pursued through the appropriate municipal, state or federal law enforcement.

Do you really think  AG Holder is going to pursue a federal fraud investigation of ACORN?  Just look at how he brushed aside the Black Panther voter intimidation  case from last year's election.  And that case had rock-solid, incontrovertible video and audio evidence of the crime.

From the municipal level to the very top federal level, every justice dept is staffed by career liberals. And a criminal investigation cannot go forward, regardless of how much evidence is presented, without their consent.  Some politically correct criminal cases, such as the Tawana Brawley case or the Duke lacrosse player case, are vigorously pursued without a shred of real evidence, with prosecutors trampling all over the defendants rights and due process.  Other seemingly airtight cases, like the Black Panther case, go nowhere.

The only other legal channel available is to somehow get the issue before a grand jury panel.  That takes a lot of time and money.  And unlike liberals, most conservatives have real lives.  So we are less inclined to pursue these types of actions.
