CNN Proves Skeptical of Porn Bailout 'Publicity Stunt'

It took pornography to hear some economic sense from CNN on the issue of bailouts.

"American Morning" reported on Jan. 8 that Larry Flynt, of Hustler magazine, and Joe Francis, of Girls Gone Wild, sent out a press release  Jan. 7 asking for $5 billion of the federal bailout action.

CNN's Kiran Chetry and correspondent Ted Rowlands reacted with skepticism. Rowlands said, "This seems to many like just another Larry Flynt publicity stunt."

Rowlands interviewed Flynt, who claims his business has fallen about 25 percent. Flynt reasoned that if a bailout precedent has been set, how will Congress decide who cannot be bailed out.

"I figured why not? They did it for the automobiles, they did it for the banks. You got a lot of unhappy people out there that sex is the farthest thing from their mind," Flynt said to Rowlands.

In order to balance his story, Rowlands spoke to Vincent Morezes who runs an adult video store in L.A. Morezes told CNN that business is up and he has seen sales and rentals jump "dramatically."

According to Flynt, his real motivation wasn't necessarily the $5 billion, but making a point about Washington D.C. "I'm dead serious about making Congress look stupid, you know. I think the American people should have more to say about those bailouts and how they're spending their money. These politicians have never handled our money wisely since I have been in this world and I don't think they're gonna start now," Flynt said.

Flynt 2012!  He knows how

Flynt 2012!  He knows how to keep people's interest.

But realy, he makes more sense than a lot of those already "representing" us.

Flynt hit it on the head. "These politicians have never handled our money wisely since I have been in this world and I don't think they're gonna start now."

oh dear

I just agreed with a porn guy about something. You'd almost think I was living in BizarreO world....oh that's right, a Marxist is about to become President of the United States. This IS BizarreO world.

In order to be pro-choice, one must first be born. Ah, the irony.

Flynt is right?!

He probally wanted to get the film rights of 300 Million Americans getting screwed.

The solution to everything

The federal government gives every licensed driver a V8 SUV equipped with a pornograph.

This will revive the automakers, get the porn industry rolling, keep the oil industry going, put cash back into the banks and relieve government schools of the need for sex education classes.

If taxpayers are hired as actors we can watch ourselves getting screwed by the government. A sure winner all around.

"watch ourselves getting screwed"

I believe that's referred to as POV (point-of-view) in the genre.

Not that I have any firsthand knowledge or anything.

I wouldn't be so sure

Kiran Chetry may be against a bailout for the porn industry, but I'm not completely convinced of that. She told Hugh Hefner's daughter, I guess the one who runs the Hefter sex empire now, that she is a big fan of the show "Girls Next Door". So, I wonder that if tough financial times meant that she would no longer be able to view one of her favorite programs, getting to see Hugh with all of those women that he loves and respects so much, just perhaps she would favor the likes of Larry and Hugh getting a little money to keep their empire of filth alive? I mean, that's quality entertainment. Who can do without it?
