The Washington Post managed to write an entire article about Countrywide's regulators at the Office of Thrift Supervision without once mentioning the name of Sen. Christopher Dodd. The Connecticut senator claimed he received his sweetheart mortgage from Countrywide without his knowledge, under a plan specifically designed for policy-makers and VIPs.
The Post similarly seems shocked, shocked, to find that a regulatory agency became an advocate, rather than a regulator. We're still waiting for such shock to register concerning the FEC, the FCC, the NLRB, or indeed, the entire Department of Labor.

Dodd
Mon, 11/24/2008 - 13:38 ET by iveseenitallDodd and the rest of the corrupt s.o.b.'s in our "representative" government are walking ads for TERM LIMITS. At another time in history the citizens would be doing something about this. But apathy and ignorance are the rule today. Maybe most of the creeps will at least be voted out the next time they are up for re-election--- in order that we can put in a new group of crooks. Sad.

I can't comment on the people in Conn. because we elected Dollar Bill Jefferson.
Friends of Angelo, Dodd, Conrad, Holbrooke - $$'s
Mon, 11/24/2008 - 13:50 ET by Gary HallConde' Nast Portfolio.com did an in-depth investigative series of reports on these crooks in congress - mostly powerful Democrats - who should all be publically exposed, just as Sen. Ted Stevens was. For example, take Senator Kent Conrad, (D.):
Really now, what's the difference in getting to keep the Christmas lights or saving wads of cash via sweetharts special interest deals -- $$;s?

I am also sick of the silence from the repub side of the aisle about all of this...including Barney Franks, Jefferson...on and on.
I give up anymore.

Bailout
Mon, 11/24/2008 - 15:16 ET by iveseenitallWhat's the number on the "bailout" now? Seven trillion is the latest I've read. And exactly to whom is all the dough going? What transparency! We have the most blatantly corrupt government in my lifetime. Rome is burning and the Fall is imminent. Watch your head and hold on to your wallet if you can.

Chris Dodd-high crimes and treason
Mon, 11/24/2008 - 16:59 ET by JIMMY1660i believe chris dodd should have a special cell at Leavenworth, crimes against America. If someone has the stones to ask for and get a Congressional hearing, concerning Fannie/Freddie, etc. would blow the OJ trial off the charts for watchability.

Don't forget to....
Mon, 11/24/2008 - 17:32 ET by semolina_filcherinclude Barney Frank, Raines, Rangel, Conyers, Pe-lousy, Reid, Waxman, and all other harbingers of freebies on those special cells at Leavenworth.
Tom Scott Exposes Chris Dodd.
Mon, 11/24/2008 - 17:23 ET by bigtimerATT: If you haven't seen this...please watch it...this is priceless..
Tom Scott was let go because of this questioning/confrontation with Dodd, his own producer on the show cut his throat.
I was going to make a forum post about this...still may on down the line.
I am still waiting for the pressure and questions from the rest of the msm let alone other Senate members, especially ones with 'R's behind their name...let alone when is Dodd going to do just what he said he was at the very end of the interview with Dodd.

STEVENS: A SYMPTOM
Mon, 11/24/2008 - 18:50 ET by reelman46STEVENS: A SYMPTOM
WASHINGTON
— Republican Ted Stevens has spoken and yielded the floor for the last
time. Staff members wept openly in the Senate gallery as Stevens, who
turned 85 earlier this week, gave his swansong goodbye Thursday.
“I have had a difficult time today articulating my feelings and I
hope if I puddle up, as an old friend used to say, I’ll be excused,”
Stevens said in a very emotional farewell.
Stevens, the longest serving Republican in Senate history, declared
he has no “rearview mirror” and is looking forward to a day when he
might be vindicated. He has lost his bid for a seventh term after his
convictions in federal court on charges of lying about gifts on his
disclosure form. He is appealing the conviction.
In his speech, Stevens, who has served since the days of the Johnson
administration, reminisced about how Alaska was a new state when he
first came to Washington.
CRAWFISH NOTE: Go home! You are an example of a greedy
arrogant public non-servant that has overstayed at least a decade. The
royal congress is infested with these parasitical vote-buyers that need
a walker to get around but just can’t leave the power trip.
Had you been a better man you would have left in a smooth transition
for another Repub…but nooooo. You double-screwed the Party by your
greed and staying years and years too long. The democrats can stay till
forever and do anything but you knew Repubs get scrutiny. There are no
excuses for your crime and the fact a democrat beat you, you greedy old
fossil. No tears here.

reelman... I followed as
Mon, 11/24/2008 - 19:22 ET by bigtimerreelman...
I followed as much of the case as I was able too...I am still getting caught up.
You may want to read this...and I am sure there is much more to come on down the road...there had better be, if anyone thinks for one second that one cannot be set-up, especially if it has to do with politics, they would be wrong. ..especailly D.C.
I have listened/watched Stevens for about 20 years on the Senate floor on and off, I disagree with most here about him, so be it.
I am not one who jumps on a band-wagon right off when it comes to something like this...I know what all he tried to do for Ak. and has done... how many times he was stabbed in the back by his esteemed friends in the Senate over thirty years over oil adn drilling in ANWR...and I am not even going to go into the timber and fishing industry.
Just thought you may be interested, I caught this news about David Anderson on some news channel about 2-3 days ago now, it was just a small blurb...if news like this had come out and the person and party was reversed it would be huge, huge, news.
This piece of work Anderson waited to announce these lies and all that it entails until after Stevens stepped down...it makes me sick.
Just my two cents here.
