Check out this video of Glenn Beck discussing with Bobby Jindal how the media has ignored the numerous flip-flops of Barack Obama.
How many flip-flops can he get a free pass on? He flipped on FISA, the second amendment, gay marriage, Iran, Iraq, welfare reform, NAFTA, and the list goes on.
Obama has a list of flip-flops that would destroy most candidates. The media would be all over this if it were a Republican. However, since Obama is their golden boy they paint the picture as “re-calibrating” his thoughts, and simply tacking to the center. Hopefully America can see through the media’s spin to the truth that Obama is just another politician. There is nothing new about his politics, except perhaps the audacity of their transparency.
There is nothing new about the media defending Obama’s flip-flops either.

Rename the election a flip-flopping fish contest!
July 2, 2008 - 19:59 ET by SyriusI think both of them have shown the ability to flip-flop so much, we should see which stops flipping and flopping as much. I don't think this time around the flip-flop tag is going to be effective. Appealing to the hearts and minds will be the most of effective, hmmm, I wonder who is doing the better job?
Come on, John, I'm still with you! Godspeed, John, Godspeed!

July 2, 2008 - 20:06 ET by motherbeltFor either one, a change of mind is not a catastrophe. If one looks at the situation and says, you know, that's what I thought then, but looking at things now, I think I need to adjust my thinking.
That's one thing. But to try to dance around it and play at as "I have always said...." and then mischaracterize your own words from before, and say that you didn't mean it the way everyone took it, well that's just trashing your credibility.
And that's what Obama's starting to do. Only the media play along, so he gets away with it.

July 2, 2008 - 20:02 ET by motherbeltI don't even know what can be said about this any more...it's just mind-boggling.
It looks like Obama wants to be the Second Black President; he is becoming more like Bill Clinton by the week.
The media are covering for him on a daily basis....calling his flips "recalibrating" or "rewording" or "nuance." They are completely derelict in their duty.
Even when he doesn't really change his stance, they re-characterize it as "moving to the center" and they now regularly describe his policies as "centrist."
Any day now I expect to start hearing about Obama's bravest shift ever....his "centrist" single-payer health care plan.

Can someone at NBers explain this to me...
July 2, 2008 - 20:56 ET by DEVILDOCMOMI saw this post a couple of hours ago and wrote a comment. When I tried to post it I had a message stating I was not allowed to access the site and then the entire message and "article" was gone. Now it is back. This is the second time I have had this happen.
Why does this happen?
I had a comment "disappear"

Personally, I think it's "nanites." LOL

Thanks mother and John
July 3, 2008 - 00:19 ET by DEVILDOCMOMI am glad others have had a similar concern. What seems odd is the whole post, the whole "article" if you will, disappears from site for quite a period of time.

July 3, 2008 - 06:49 ET by mister josephand, yet, when Jindal has what may appear to be a flip-flop, liberals open up a recall petition to get rid of him! ironically, this attempting to oust him for something they didn't like caused him to really flip-flop, which, of course, liberals don't like, either.
Jindal is so hated by Democrats, it looks like he's Presidential material!

A couple of points here.
July 3, 2008 - 08:38 ET by BruzillaA couple of points here. I don't know about Glen Beck, but all I hear on FNC and CNN is all about every flip-flop Obama makes! If the media isn't covering them, how does Beck know about them? He knows about them because there is endless analysis about them in FNC and CNN!
What bothers me is the near total lack of coverage on McCain's flip-flops outside of some Lib commentators on FNC. Why is the MS being so mum on McCain? There's no way in Hell they're going to support him. My bet is they are waiting until after the convention since McCain is such a weak candidate, and the last thing they want to do is help convince the delgates to go with someone else.

July 3, 2008 - 09:01 ET by saylmanFirst, both candidates are flip flopping. On a lot of issues. Some important, some not. Granted, sometimes I don't think flip flopping is a necesary evil (for instance, I"m sure you would classify McCain's offshore oil drilling change of heart something good) and some of them are bad (Obama and the FISA bill).
I don't have the answer for this, because, I"m not going to do the research, but it would seem to me, the real way to measure the lack of coverage on Obama's flip flopping record would be to take all the coverage of it and compare it to the coverage of McCain's flip flopping.

July 3, 2008 - 16:09 ET by Dan The Man 2Saly, you miss the important idea of what they flop on and why they did it. Did they do it for political expediency? McCain flopped on immigration from allowing amnesty to building a wall first. He did it because he heard the will of the voters, a valid reason. No one believes he has changed his opinion, but he did change his direction or bent … at least he said he did. Obama makes statements about his pastor and how he could not disavow him and when the heat gets too politically hot he gets rid of him. And he gives out some lame excuse.
The main thing is Obama has the lamest excuses for actions that are patently obvious to the most casual observer to be bogus.

July 3, 2008 - 11:39 ET by ridge_sLet's look at some facts:
John McCain: 23 years in the US Navy, retired as a captain (O6); 4 years in the US House of Representatives; 20+ years in the US Senate.
Barrack Obama: 3+ years in US Senate.
Why are we even having an election?
