SF Chronicle: Obama an Elightened Being

  • Bookmark and Share

It is absolutely sickening how the media worship Barack Obama!  Check out how blatant this SF Chronicle article is:

Here’s where it gets gooey. Many spiritually advanced people I know (not coweringly religious, mind you, but deeply spiritual) identify Obama as a Lightworker, that rare kind of attuned being who has the ability to lead us not merely to new foreign policies or health care plans or whatnot, but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment. These kinds of people actually help us evolve. They are philosophers and peacemakers of a very high order, and they speak not just to reason or emotion, but to the soul.

Cassy Fiano writes:

Has anyone even heard the term “Lightworker” before? I’m pretty sure that’s something this idiot and his “enlightened” buddies made up, probably when they were smoking… things. But hey, Obama is destined, he’s entitled, the Presidency is his, because he’s the Obamamessiah, and he will save our country and the world!! The birds will sing, the flowers will bloom, global warming will disappear, the economy will improve, the war in Iraq will be over, and the Middle East will stop wanting to kill us.

And hey, this guy said it loud and clear, exactly what it is that Obama’s supporters like so gosh darn much about him. Forget policies or speeches, what’s really important is that undefinable presence he has. That’s all we need. Well, that, and the fist-bump.

God save us!

Makes this video of fawning journalists seem tame, doesn’t it?

Indeed it does, but this video is an even better treat for Obama kool-aid drinkers.

Moonbat

And people think Christians are nutty, talking about Jesus and The Holy Spirit and all...

... But think nothing of people who talk like the woman above.  Absolute gibberish.  I took a Philosophy class in College and even though I was not a Christian at the time I did not get much of anything out of similar junk that was being spewed out at the time.

Of course the truly scary thing is that when Bush was running for President he actually had record of bi-partisanship, Obama doesn't.  Even McCain has a record of bring both sides together, even if one of those sides is just him.

Conservative "Lightworkers?"

I wonder what the SF Chronicle would call Obama if he had the political philosophy of Thomas Sowell, Ward Connerly, Larry Elder, Clarence Thomas, Walter Williams, or J.C. Watts?

Probably not "Lightworker."

 but who can actually help

but who can actually help usher in a new way of being on the planet, of relating and connecting and engaging with this bizarre earthly experiment

Say WHAT! A new way of being on this planet...bizarre earthly experiments....

The only thing bizarre is the writer here...and the rest of the Obamakins...Out of this world/...or better yet...Earth to Nutcases..Earth to Nutcases!

Morford needs help...I'd like to say only in SF...unfortunately it is now world-wide...not just nation-wide.

God help us all!

Perhaps I Worded things wrong

Cassy didn't write the SF Chronicle article, she wrote the response below it.

Evening John...and thank

Evening John...and thank you for the correction, it wasn't you, it is me...between Morford on your blog and WTH's I should of known that...that is my mistake...which I will correct above...Cassy is right!

Mass hysteria

This guy really thinks he's a better man -- excuse me, a better Deity -- than Jesus -- and HE HAS FOLLOWERS!

He's not a candidate, he's a cult leader.

Why is he settling for

Why is he settling for president? He should run for god.

*****

"People only insist that a debate stop when they are afraid of what might be learned if it continues." - George Will

Why run for god?

His followers have already declared him to be god. All they ask is that we convert.

This is past "sickening".

This is past "sickening". This getting to be scary Jim Jones territory. Have millions of US citizens joined a cult? This is like classic cult member behavior.

Hi Chris, Jones was...

Jim Jones was huge in Ca.  Apparently he was close to a number of democrat senators (state) and such.

I was surpirsed to learn this since at the time I think they didn't publicize his connections to the Dems.

I saw a documentary about it.  The reason he got so far was that he was enabled by the media and democrat politicians.

Ironic, how the libs go on and on about how Bush will be the next Hitler, yet they are the ones who will fall for it.

You nailed it

This is a classic personality cult --

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cult_of_personality

"Generally, personality cults are most common in regimes with totalitarian systems of government, that seek to radically alter or transform society according to revolutionary new ideas. Often, a single leader becomes associated with this revolutionary transformation, and he becomes treated as a benevolent "guide" for the nation, without whom the transformation to a better future cannot occur."

It's like that episode of "Doctor Who", where an evil alien assumes the persona of a human being who arises out of nowhere and gets elected Prime Minister -- by people who can't name a single stand or policy of his. He just makes them feel good and hopeful.

I would be more than willing

I would be more than willing to contribute financially to help these poor souls relocate to Guyana, and to send them on their way with all the cherry kool aid they need.

2001: A Space Odessey

I think the term is "starchild" from this movie.  It is the next evolutionary step for we humans.

I mean, THE GUY HAS A HALO!!!!!!

For these new age freaks, the angelic halo is meaningless, since it derives it's meaning from Christianity, which is only adhered to by lemmings in their book.

For these new age freaks,

For these new age freaks, the angelic halo is meaningless, since it derives it's meaning from Christianity,....

Well actually no.  To New Agers the 'halo' is just a representation of the aura.  That's a 'glow' that surrounds the body that a 'sensitive' can see.  The aura gives clues to a persons health and spirituality.

Kiss my aura, Dora

It's real Angora.

   Here's something I

Here's something I just gleaned from a New Age site:

"Indigo Children"

Some within the New Age movement believe that children with special powers and indigo colored auras have been born in recent years. According to Nancy Ann Tappe, this is a global phenomenon affecting over 95% of newborns since 1995. She writes:

"As small children, Indigo’s are easy to recognize by their unusually large, clear eyes. Extremely bright, precocious children with an amazing memory and a strong desire to live instinctively, these children of the next millennium are sensitive, gifted souls with an evolved consciousness who have come here to help change the vibrations of our lives and create one land, one globe and one species. They are our bridge to the future."

MA... ...and from their

MA...

...and from their Aura points on down they fit Obama man...their new messiah...

Spooky indeed as far as I am concerned.

New World Order...different definition in some ways...I'd like to say lol, but heck, who knows anymore which way this world is going, glad I am the age I am now in a way...which isn't a spring chicken...

I pray for this country.

"Never murder your opponent when he is committing suicide." ~ W. Wilson

In the context of New Age

In the context of New Age his statement that "We are the ones we have been waiting for" makes sense.  It's all about the infusion of higher developed 'souls' coming in to change the world.

Are these people.........

delusional, or just mentally ill??

Those journalists on the

Those journalists on the plane aren't fawning...they're ogling him in a pair of tight jeans. And if you watch him, he knows it, and he's posing...He has to be able to hear them moaning, and telling the one woman to get out of the way, and "you're killing us!!".

Michelle Malkin had the right response: "Kneepads, ladies???"

So what has this deeply spiritual,

attuned "Lightworker" accomplished in his career? Anything anyone, anything? NO. Maybe instead of lightworker they meant "lightweight"?

The Princess Di of Politics

I haven't seen such idolatory and unhinged collective person worship since that puffed up clothes horse Pricesss Diana died 11 years ago,

Being in Britain at the time I can assure you, led by an uncritical Media, half the country had a collective emotional breakdown and went clinically crazy for months on end.

I have never seen anything like it before. Or since. Until now. This is unhealthy stuff. If (and when) this guy looses to McCain, it's going to be like nothing you've seen before.

Vote 4 change. Vote 4 anything. See Jack & Mr Shy's first campaign ad for the ONLY viable 3rd party candidate.

Yikes!

When he loses, the resulting mass hysteria will make Bush Derangement Syndrome look like rationality. They'll be burning down the White House and torching every polling place in every precinct that didn't vote for the Obamessiah.

It'll be ugly. Maybe I'll go back to Korea and lay low a while. And take my daughter and granddaughter with me.

My wife and I started joking

My wife and I started joking a while ago that Obama must be the Anti Christ. With all the fawning over him and basically "worship" by so many of his followers, it seemed to fit. Also the "unusual charisma" that he seems to have. Anyway, articles like this are making me start to laugh at the joke a lot less... On the other hand, if he is, then the end is nearer! Which is not a bad thing since that means Christs return and an end to all this nonsense..

Also

I am also askin that question, is he one of the Anti-Christ??

(No Grins)  kilrod

Remember, only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier

Anti-Christ???

Obama seems to be more of a cult of personality...Mohamed and his ilk would have more Anti-Christ tendancies. Though Barry Hussein Obama did learn some of those teachings.

Let's be real here

I am as tired of glowing features on Obama as anyone. I don't want to see glowing features on any candidate, including McCain.

But this is not a feature article this is an opinion column. It is misleading to simply call it an article. If we want to maintain our credibility as conservatives fighting bias we also have to maintain a consistent basis of comparison.

Also, calling Obama the anti-christ is not going to help get McCain elected in November and you all know it. Also many would consider it blasphemy to talk in this casual way about the end-times.

This kind of talk will piss off middle-ground voters. Think about someone who comes in here for the first time and is curious about conservatism. If he finds comments as mean spirited as the ones on the Huffington Post, do you think that will help the conservative cause?

Anyway that is what I think, and you are free to respond without insults.

This guy is legitimately scary

People think he's a GOD, for crying out loud! These people honestly think that he's a Higher Being. It's like something out of Star Trek! Or maybe "Stranger in a Strange Land". Maybe Robert A. Heinlein was a prophet.

You're right that it would

You're right that it would not help McCains cause. I honestly don't think that Obama truly fits as "the Anti Christ" but I do think that the way people worship him is very dangerous. If this sort of thinking that he is someone who is "more enlightened" is popularized I think there are many people that would go along with him. My parents used to be staunch conservatives (anyone heard of the John Birch Society?). After watching Al Gore's movie, they are fully ecologically oriented and talking about voting for Obama because of all the good things he will do. Kinda scary...

As far as joking about the end times being blasphemous, I don't think that is applicable. As Christians there is nothing wrong with wanting the end to come, in whatever manner that might be. That's why Paul said "to live is Christ, to die is gain". If I have more time on earth to share great, if not, so be it.

I appreciate your point though. A public forum is not the best place to make comments that seem extreme and could be taken out of context or the wrong way.

Name your flavor

"Would you like Koolaid with that"?

Scary

I don't know which is scarier -- that Obama thinks he's a some sort of superior being capable of elevating us to some new Plane of Existence, or that there's that sizable portion of the population that shares the delusion.

This seriously calls for Haldol in the drinking water. Large doses of Haldol in the drinking water. And maybe the resulting tardive dyskenisia will start a refreshing new dance craze.
