Newsweek Taps Kos Founder, Markos Moulitsas to Cover Presidential Election…

What liberal bias?

Remember that big announcement I promised earlier? Well, it’s now official.

Newsweek press release

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Tuesday, November 13, 2007

MARKOS MOULITSAS, FOUNDER AND PUBLISHER OF DAILYKOS.COM,
TO BECOME NEWSWEEK CONTRIBUTOR FOR 2008 PRESIDENTIAL CAMPAIGN

New York — Markos Moulitsas, the founder and publisher of dailykos.com, will become a Newsweek contributor for the 2008 presidential campaign, offering occasional opinion pieces to the pages of the magazine and to Newsweek.com.

"We have always sought to represent a diversity of views in Newsweek, and we think Markos will be a great part of that tradition," said Newsweek Editor Jon Meacham. "He will give our readers in print and online a unique perspective. As always, our job is to create the most energetic and illuminating magazine possible, and Markos will help us do that as the campaign unfolds."

Yeah, there’s a lot of heads exploding in wingnutlandia today over this bit of news. But Newsweek is "balancing" me out with someone that should make heads on our side explode. Announcement on that name is still a couple of days off.

No surprise here...he fits

No surprise here...he fits right in with the likes of Newsweek and all their ilk.

....ain't gonna improve their sales or their leftist agenda.

They have been this way for years now and gone as far left as they can go, one more little leftist losing twit isn't going to matter in the long run...that's the way I see it anyway.

Unbelievable

They arent even trying mask it anymore.

Dr. Hunter S. Thompson

Well, Rolling Stone sent Dr. Thompson, but he had to fill himself with chemicals to produce his report.

Markos will produce the same type of prose, but he'll be chemical free.

Too funny! The best part

Too funny!

The best part is reading the kos kids' comments. What a seriously messed up group of folks. God help us if one of them ever gets in charge.

Hey hey! It's the Centrist

Hey hey! It's the Centrist Mainstream Democrat Base don't ya know?

But Newsweek is

But Newsweek is "balancing" me out with someone that should make heads on our side explode. Announcement on that name is still a couple of days off.

hmmm...Malkin?

"balance

How about Ann Coulter?

"There is a tendency for the world to say to America, 'the big problems of the world are yours, you go and sort them out,' and then to worry when America wants to sort them out." - Tony Blair

That was gonna be my second

That was gonna be my second guess. :)

If only.  But Newsweek

If only.  But Newsweek doesn't see Kos as far left as Ann is far right.  So it'll probably be somebody like Mort Kondracke or Howard Kurtz.  You know, real balance.

Forget 911, I dial 10MM.

MarKOS

Come on! Give the guy a break!  He'll be able to see the election from a perspective I've never had.  He'll see it from the gutter, from the sewers, from the underbelly of the world! He is suredly one who will bring the illiterate masses flocking to the WalMart magazine aisles, waiting Ameros in hand for the latest NewsSqeak issue to tumble off of the cart.  Riots in the aisles... Dogs and cats living together... Mass Hysteria!  Isn't that what the DailyCows is all about?

There... I feel better now.

}}---> Markos

Honestly, how far right would we have to go to balance Markos?

Sure, you can counter him with sound logic, but Markos' true antithesis already has a job shooting students in Venezuela.

Bring it on bitch.

No I'm not talking about Hillary Clinton.

"Kos, you should demand that Newsweek include a link to DKos in your bio blurb (i.e., "Markos Moulitasasis the editor of DailyKos{link}. He lives in Berkeley with his
family." etc.)What a great way to increase site traffic, and turn more people on to this site."

Go ahead I dare you. Show the world the stupidity. I'm sure it will turn a lot of people on. It reads like Craigslists Rant & Raves anyway. Turned me on so much I recently registered Republican, nice job.

What besides his website

What besides his website qualifies him? Up until the 06 elections his record was something like 0-18 for the candidates he hyped for with Lamont his highest profile loss to Joe.

In the 06 election he was only able to claim an assist with combined efforts from ActBlue for 5 or 6 races but no outright wins that I recall but in any event he really is not a very good judge of picking people to win.

Markos

Well, this link to a Charlie Rose interview seems to say he spent six MONTHS interviewing with the CIA. I'm more used to six minute interviews! :) Considering the CIA's alleged role in the founding of at least one antigun group (if not their unpunished coke-smuggling in the '80s) I'm not sure what to make of that, either...

Embarrassment

There was a time when Newsweek and Time were respected and well read new magazines with very balanced reporting and exceptional, qualified journalists. But times have changed.

This guy Markos is not a jounalist - he is a cheap propagandist who is committed to lies and deception. He also promotes "hate" particularly against Jews.

Balance him out? Why bother? After all no one really reads this magazine anymore.

Why bother?

 "Balance him out? Why bother?"

Moulitsas solipsism hardly allows for "balance" in his perception of reality.  I'd like to see Newsweek expand on what they define as "unique perspective".  Will Newsweek provide a link to KOS with each "perspective" written?  And will KOS link to Newsweek?

The "media concert" is still in the early stages and we can look forward for more stooges joining the orchestra.  This is but a small part in what the "investment" the mainstream media will undertake in the months ahead to shape the dialogue of todays electorial process.  And there will be little "balance" in their confabulations.

Needless to say, Newsbusters will never be more engaged with the battle to balance an agenda the MSM is about to put forward.  All hands on deck (keyboards).......full steam ahead.

Rovin

No doubt

I think you will see links between Newsweek as well as MSLSD (which says they want to go more to the left anyway) and DailyKos.

The point is that the Newsweek circulation as well as its advertising rate base has pummelted over the past 10 years as the magazine goes into obscurity and irrelevance. The most attention it has is on-line through MSNBC. I never see people on the train or in Barnes & Noble reading it anymore.

Good for Newsweek, it will

Good for Newsweek, it will back fire on them. Maybe next year at
this time they will be bankrupt. Just like KO's is morally bankrupt.

These people think the king KOMmie will bring diversity? What, they weren't far left ENOUGH? They just can't help themselves passing up an opportunity to use the word 'diversity', can they? Pathetic.

Oh and I thought the premise of having a NEWS magazine was to relay NEWS to it's readers. 'Energetic', and 'illuminating' (if the spotlight is on a hammer and sickle, then fine) come second. Objective REPORTING has long since died. How sad.
