No matter what former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin does, she's not going to win any friends in the mainstream modern feminism activist movement in the United States. But that might not be a bad thing.
On HLN's Feb. 8 "The Joy Behar Show," Eve Ensler, the writer of the infamous "The Vagina Monologues" appeared on the broadcast to promote her new book "I Am an Emotional Creature: The Secret Life of Girls Around the World." During the interview, she was asked by the show's host Joy Behar what she thought about Sarah Palin, her political prospects and her belief system.
"Back with me is a woman who has done more for the vagina than the Brazilian wax - the talented Eve Ensler," Behar said. "You know, I must talk about Sarah Palin quickly with you because you do mention her in one monologue in the book. And you say a woman running for U.S. vice president believes in creationism but not global warming. What were you driving at there? May I ask?"
Ensler took the global warming opening and ran with it, but probably should have exercised better judgment. She took a shot at Palin's anthropogenic skepticism, either by mistake or by exhibiting a total ignorance of natural disasters, by suggesting Palin look at "earthquakes and tsunamis" if she needed to evidence (emphasis added):
ENSLER: Well, I just think the idea that she doesn't believe in global warming is bizarre.
BEHAR: Every scientist at every note believes in it but Sarah Palin doesn't believe in it.
ENSLER: And I think we just kind of have to walk around the world at this point and look at what is happening to nature and earthquakes and tsunamis.
BEHAR: Right.
ENSLER: And weather changes to just feel it. But I think that idea that she doesn't believe in global warming and she could actually run for vice president, and we have a country where that is possible, it seems insane.
BEHAR: It's unbelievable. It does seem insane and the fact that she has not negated the possibility of running in 2012.
ENSLER: But we have. We have negated the possibility of her winning.
According to the U.S. Geological Survey (USGS), earthquakes are a phenomenon of "sudden rolling or shaking events caused by movement under the Earth's surface," not the earth's atmosphere which concerns the theory of anthropogenic global warming.
Ensler also took issue with the Tea Parties, particularly last week's Tea Party Convention in Nashville, Tenn., where Palin spoke and insisted that the media should give her V-Day events (an inspiration of The Vagina Monologues) more coverage:
ENSLER: But I think part of it is like why are we giving her so much attention. You know I was looking at that Tea Party thing last night. How many people were there? 600? Why is the entire media covering an event with 600 people.
BEHAR: I don't know.
ENSLER: V-day has 5,000 events this year. At one event there's 600 people, why are they covering that? What do we choose to cover in the media? Why is anyone giving attention to people who have really have a level of intelligence that hasn't really evolved yet?
BEHAR: I agree with you.
ENSLER: You know, you know, it's problematic. It's problematic.
But the shots kept coming at Palin from both Behar and Ensler - why she is so popular, why she didn't criticize Bush more and her ideologically conservative stances on certain social and economic issues:
ENSLER: Well I'm not talk you can about the people who necessarily are following Sarah Palin. Because I think people have the right to be afraid right now. I identify with working people. I feel for people are out of jobs and they don't have money. What` I'm talking about is people who are creating Sarah Palin and Sarah Palin herself putting out information that is manipulated, that's distorted, and illusory. That's the people I have problems with.
BEHAR: Well she plays fast and loose with facts.
ENSLER: Oh, does she ever.
BEHAR: And the other thing I wanted to bring up about her with you is that I saw her being interviewed by Chris Wallace on FOX yesterday. Or was it Saturday, I think it was yesterday. And he says -- she says that, you know, Obama is losing some sting right now. People have short memories. They forget what happened eight years ago.
ENSLER: Hmm.
BEHAR: When Bush was here. But she says, I'm saying she'd like to change his image around. How would she do it? She's saying, I'm saying if he did things would dramatically change, if he decided to toughen up and do all that he can do to secure our nation and our allies, I think people would perhaps shift their thinking a bit and decide, well, maybe he's tougher than we think that he is today. In other words, I think that she's talking about going in and starting more wars. I mean, I can't believe that she gets away with statements like that.
ENSLER: Well, I think it's the whole mentality of being in the NRA, of believing in drilling. Of shooting all those animals from the plane, of drilling, this constant -- she wouldn't drill.
As for the "drilling" metaphor, Behar couldn't let the opportunity to take a cheap shot at Palin at her daughter's expense and mock the concept of abstinence:
BEHAR: Isn't that how her daughter got in trouble in the first place?
ENSLER: I thought it was abstinence myself.
BEHAR: Oh yes, abstinence, that really works.
ENSLER: Really successful technique.

Then Behar comes on talks for an hour about The V?

#3 - They say Obama would appear tougher if he did things he wasn't doing, like, uh, act tough. Duh!
#4 - Palin would start "allot of wars" if she was President? Because she shoots animals and wan't to drill, but she wouldn't drill.

I listened to Sarah Palin's speech and it was RIGHT ON TARGET! She related to her audience - and spoke WITHOUT teleprompters for close to one hour! And, believe it or not, Hillary and Caroline, she did so without ONE 'uh' or 'err'!!!
These people are GREEN with envy and there is not one single thing they can do about it...they will NEVER have the charisma Sarah Palin has...NEVER! So they will keep on attacking her and her family - they will keep on name-calling everyday Americans who have attended Tea Party rallies - and all of their efforts will get them nowhere! They are simply exposing themselves to the world as low-class individuals who, having NO self-esteem, try to build themselves up by tearing others down. And...they will NEVER understand that it doesn't work!
P.S. Have you ever seen a liberal smile? Have you ever heard a liberal laugh, as in having a good time? Liberals laugh in a derisive manner, but I can't remember seeing them ever exhibit a state of happiness.
This comment comes from a proud Tea Party attendee, otherwise designated by Homeland Security as a Domestic Right Wing Terrorist! And by our president as a 'swiftboater' - both titles I'll wear proudly!

Plate tectonics not only causes earthquakes, but were (and are) responsible for creating the Earth's mountain ranges. As two plates collide, it causes the Earth's crust to be forced upwards.
So using their logic, if global warming causes earthquakes, it also caused the Himalayas!

Ms. Ensler and Ms. Behar are the ones to be mocked
Wed, 02/10/2010 - 01:11 ET by Alfred J. LemireNeither Joy Behar nor Eve Ensler is well informed on the physical world, other than perhaps their private parts, the special area of interest of Ms. Ensler.
Ms.Ensler claimed that the "idea" that former Gov. Palin doesn't believe in global warming and she could actually run for vice president, and we have a country where that is possible, it seems insane." That’s a false claim concerning Ms. Palin’s position re: global warming. And a President and his national security hirelings who do not believe that Islamic teachings are relevant to the mujahideen, i.e., the Islamic terrorists, well, that awful reality is worse than insane.
I recall that Ms. Palin remarked that, as governor of Alaska and likely also as an Alaskan, she was aware of permafrost melting. I'm pretty sure she had visited at least one Native village that had to be relocated because of warming's effect on the soil.
Much warming presumably occurred in the 80s and the 90s. One can read that 80% to 85% of Alaska has permafrost. The warming of frozen soil caused much expense in road and house repair in certain areas. How has the cooling of the past few years affected the permafrost? one would like to know.
But Alaska is not turning into Baja California. The Fairbanks News-Miner wrote on January 31 that four years ago, the minimum temperature failed to rise above minus 40F on five days and contributed to the lowest January temperatures since1971. From January 9 to January 26, "the minimum daily temperature rose above negative 20 on only four days," the paper wrote. "It almost qualified as a cold snap bu tnever really got serious." Whoever wrote that likely was not smiling.
Ms. Palin said she did not know what influence human activity had on the warming she observed. Whatever her exact words, they struck this reader as prudent, cautious, and sensible. Some laypeople on the left have imagined that the scientific case for human-induced warming is beyond dispute, but many scientists dispute much in the scenario that the left has accepted, largely, one may conclude, because it offers governments new pathways to exert control over their populations, control intended to be for their good, no doubt.
Ms. Palin is much more prudent in her judgments than Ms. Ensler and Ms. Behar, and, I suspect, much better informed on the arguments in scientific circles for and against anthropogenic causation of global warming.
As to Ms. Ensler's notion that global temperatures have anything to do with earthquakes and tsunamis, and Ms. Behar's acceptance of that preposterous conclusion, well, for the first time, one can laugh about something concerning Ms. Behar. Americans who read somewhat more than the news lead of reports on earthquakes in California would have learned of fault lines and crustal plates, which have everthing to do with earthquakes and tsunamis. A higher annual temperature of a degree or slightly more has nothing to do with shaking earth or massive waves.
Stupid Is As Stupid Does
Wed, 02/10/2010 - 01:13 ET by DaMamaWow, these women are incredible. It's hard to believe that so much ignorance could fill that stage, but Behar and Ensler are up to the challenge.
Ensler is just a raving feminist who hates men and thinks that teaching teen girls to sleep around is empowering them. Behar - well, all she has to do is open her mouth and you know darn well you are dealing with someone who has a cranial vacuum.
It cracks me up that these females hate Sarah Palin so much. Palin is the epitome of the liberated woman that was touted and praised so much in the 70's and 80's. But because she is a conservative, she is disqualified.

The list of fraud and deception in her idea of "solid science" is long. Gotta defend Creationism here...
Wed, 02/10/2010 - 12:00 ET by stage9"And you say a woman running for U.S. vice president believes in creationism but not global warming."
I am a little perturbed at this arrogant assumption in the West regarding Creationsim. We in the West have been so indoctrinated to believe evolution as fact, and it is so engrained into our consciousness that we can't even conceive any longer that it might possibly be wrong.
Evolution is basically a religious philosophy. Both creation and evolution are religious views of life upon which people build their particular models of philosophy, science, or history. The issue, therefore, is not science versus religion, but religion versus religion (the science of one religion versus the science of another religion).
The famous evolutionist Theodosius Dobzhansky quotes Pierre Teihard de Chardin: “Evolution is a light which illuminates all facts, a trajectory which all lines of thought must follow.”
To the Christian, of course, this is a direct denial of the sayings of Jesus as quoted in John 8:12: “I am the light of the world: he that followeth me shall not walk in darkness, but shall have the light of life.” In Isaiah 2:5 we are exhorted to “walk in the light of the Lord.” In verse 22 of the same chapter we read, “Cease ye from [trusting] man.”
It does not take much effort to demonstrate that evolution is not science but religion. Science, of course, involves observation, using one or more of our five senses (taste, sight, smell, hearing, touch) to gain knowledge about the world, and to be able to repeat the observations. Naturally, one can only observe what exists in the present. It is an easy task to understand that no scientist was present over the suggested millions of years to witness the supposed evolutionary progression of life from the simple to the complex. No living scientist was there to observe the first life forming in some primeval sea. No living scientist was there to observe the big bang that is supposed to have occurred 10 or 20 billion years ago, nor the supposed formation of the earth 4.5 billion years ago (or even 10,000 years ago!). No scientist was there—no human witness was there to see these events occurring. They certainly cannot be repeated today.
All the evidence a scientist has exists only in the present. All the fossils, the living animals and plants, the world, the universe—in fact, everything—exists now, in the present. The average person is not taught that scientists have only the present and cannot deal directly with the past.
Evolution is a belief system about the past based on the words of men who were not there, but who are trying to explain how all the evidence of the present (that is, fossils, animals, and plants, etc.) originated.
Webster’s Dictionary defines religion as follows: “Cause, principle or system of beliefs held to with ardor and faith.” Surely, this is an apt description of evolution. Evolution is a belief system—a religion!
Fossil bones do not come with little labels attached telling you how old they are. Nor do fossils have photographs with them telling you what the animals looked like as they roamed the earth long ago. (Kind of makes you wonder then, how evolutionists can speak with such authority on the matter)
When people visit a museum they are confronted by bits and pieces of bones and other fossils neatly arranged in glass cases. These are often accompanied by pictures representing an artist’s impression (make note of that! An ARTIST'S IMPRESSION) of what the animals and plants could have looked like in their natural environment. Remember, no one dug up the picture, just the fossils.
The only way anyone could always be sure of arriving at the right conclusion about anything, including origins, depends upon his knowing everything there is to know. And there is only ONE who has those qualifications - the Biblical God.
Not only is Sara Palin's support of Creationsim logically consistent, it is also in keeping with God's Word - In the beginning God created...
"If God is dead, somebody is going to have to take his place. It will be megalomania or erotomania, the drive for power or the drive for pleasure, the clenched fist or the phallus, Hitler or Hugh Hefner." — Malcolm Muggeridge
In addition to that
Fri, 02/12/2010 - 10:47 ET by Quasi-socialistthe progressives "believe" in evolution, but--as I like to say--they can barely stand to look it in the eyes. Their own philosophies (if you can call them that) remain untouched by the directionlessness that Evolution assumes.
They believe that everybody should learn it, and "believe" it, but they take few lessons from it. Evolution is not considered, it is simply a weapon thrown at the Church.
Of course, they would be much, much scarier people if they heeded Evolution--but until they do, we can always throw their doublethink back at them.

For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. All these are the beginning of sorrows.
"If God is dead, somebody is going to have to take his place. It will be megalomania or erotomania, the drive for power or the drive for pleasure, the clenched fist or the phallus, Hitler or Hugh Hefner." — Malcolm Muggeridge
An Irony
Wed, 02/10/2010 - 12:18 ET by Wildcatter1980An irony of the man-made global warming/climate change debate is how many of the most prominent voices of the alarmists are climatologists:
Algore
Eve Ensler
Most of Hollywood
Barry Obama
Harry Reid
Nancy Pelosi
John McCain
Head of the IPCC
Joy Behar
On the realists side (to name one):
Professor Richard Lindzen

We need to stop calling them "Progressives" when in reality they are big government "Socialists" who no longer value the individual's rights to Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness.
But is anyone watching?
Wed, 02/10/2010 - 12:27 ET by MissMinPhxAside from the critics, does anyone actually watch the Joy Beher show? I never have. If there's any consolation, probably few people are actually hearing her comments, and those that are most likely roll their eyes when they hear a conversation like this one. I think the fact that Sarah Palin's popularity continues to grow makes it pretty evident that no one really gives a hoot what Joy Beher says.
Wait a minute. They have
Wed, 02/10/2010 - 12:59 ET by antWait a minute. They have 5,000 vagina-related events a year? Is that even possible? And this moron laments the fact that the media doesn't cover these all important events. Actually I wish they would too. Anything to hasten their demise!
I watched the 2 vaginas dialogue
Wed, 02/10/2010 - 13:09 ET by sevenThey must be the "peer review" that James Hansen and Michael Mann refer to. Surely these broads can publish in the next IPCC journal.
Move on folks ... nothing rational to see here!
Wed, 02/10/2010 - 15:19 ET by CrashWhen a vagina goes on a tear you'd better listen! Al Gore, Hansen and UN body all "felt" like the globe was warming ... that is until they realized that it was just their man boobs sending them mixed messages and hot flashes.

Wed, 02/10/2010 - 18:56 ET by antLOL!! Who was the woman that could feel AGW while flying on a plane? Could I get the same drugs they have?
ant...
Thu, 02/11/2010 - 02:21 ET by Michael30If memory serves me correctly, that would be Senator Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) that said that in regards to turbulance she felt while on an airplane.
I would laugh, but well, she's one of my senators.

Brilliant
Wed, 02/10/2010 - 16:16 ET by Red46Whatever else people may say about her, Palin behaves with more dignity than these women.
Talking about vaginas as daily conversation and earthquakes as bogeymen?
I want to be more like these women. Do they like anything? Do they laugh at anything besides other people? Tres declasse, bourgeoise, icky.
