Laughable: 'Countdown' Accuses Palin of Sexism

The willingness of MSNBC on-air commentators to engage in political hackery for the Democratic Party knows no boundaries - as indicated by the latest charged hurled at former Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin.

Keith Olbermann, host of MSNBC's "Countdown," who once called conservative blogger Michelle Malkin, "big mashed up bag of meat with lipstick," almost on a nightly basis attacks Rep. Michele Bachmann, R-Minn., and has also regularly drubbed Palin, is now charging her with sexism.

On his Nov. 2 broadcast, Olbermann accused Palin of forcing former GOP congressional candidate Dede Scozzafava out of the race for New York's 23rd Congressional District and said Palin should be charged with sexism for doing so.

"Her campaign last year began, I mean within hours of her selection by Sen. McCain, began to be enveloped by their perpetual charges of sexism," Olbermann said. "Every criticism of her was sexism. Everything was because she was a woman, because she was a conservative woman. Why did she just put and push another Republican off the cliff and where are the charges of sexism about that?"

Olbermann's guest, MSNBC regular and occasional "Countdown" fill-in host Lawrence O'Donnell, agreed.

"Of course we remember that gender defense-ism of hers came after her criticizing Hillary Clinton for making sounds like that, of course," O'Donnell said. "And well look, this is a terrible situation for them because this is a party that is in the wrong end of the gender gap. And what did they do for it this week? They kicked out this woman who had the Republican nomination to run for the House of Representatives."

However, Scozzafava did not receive the nomination by facing the electorate in a primary. She was selected by a handful of New York State Republican Party bosses.

And predictably, O'Donnell saw this as evidence for the claim he has made almost nightly - that the Republican Party is crumbling.

"They just beat her out of the place. This couldn't hurt them with women any more. I mean it's astounding," O'Donnell said. "They don't even quite qualify for party status anymore when they're down in the low-20, like 19 percent of Americans saying, ‘I'm a Republican.' This makes things much worse."

O'Donnell would do his viewers a service by taking a look at a recent Gallup poll. According to the poll's findings, conservatives are shown as the top ideological group.

"Conservatives continue to outnumber moderates and liberals in the American populace in 2009, confirming a finding that Gallup first noted in June," Lydia Saad wrote for the Gallup Web site on Oct. 26. Forty percent of Americans describe their political views as conservative, 36% as moderate, and 20% as liberal. This marks a shift from 2005 through 2008, when moderates were tied with conservatives as the most prevalent group."

Wow...

Well it's just par for course.  Employers are evil for creating jobs, people that have color blind ideology are racists, etc. etc. etc.

They sound more and more like bad comics that dont understand the concept of irony

My, oh my

Seems Olby has gone off his meds again.

Like they ever had an effect

Like they ever had an effect in the first place.

Not exactly......

I think that dopey Olby is sharing his meds with dopey Larry.

I agree, srqvet

He doesn't make a damn bit of sense, but then again, he never does.

I think Olbermann and his ilk have a bunch of slurs and talking points, and everyday they throw them at the a big board, note which ones stick, and then try to craft a news story around it.

Did Olbermann accuse Lamont of anti-Semitism when he knocked Joe Lieberman out of the Democratic primary in Connecticut?  Did the DNC and Hillary Clinton get slapped with anti-Semitism labels when they supported Lamont?

How about Obama suggesting to New York Governor Patterson that he refrain from a re-election bid in order to let white guy Andrew Cuomo run for the job?  Racist?  Or is he prejudiced against the legally blind?

How about Obama's run against the annoited Hillary Clinton?  Sexist?

Wow

So Keith Olbermann doesn't understand what happened to DeDe in NY23? Big surprise there.

On the other hand, you can't blame Keith for standing up for women's rights. Girls like him need all the help they can get.

Yowza

So the D's throwing Hillary under the bus in favor of the affirmative action Obama doll was sexism? Wow! Whoda thunk it!?

D

Write your Congress and Senate and tell them what YOU think!

Keep the ILLEGALS out, join NumbersUSA to send free faxes to your reps.

No, Olberputz

I would say that sexism in your case is you trying to pass yourself off as a man.

This is hillarious.

Can Olberman BE any more obvious about his liberal bias?

What they fear is that this purging of the liberal RINOs is going to re-energize the GOP and pull them back to their base from where they have been purposly steered my the infiltrating liberal moles.

Throw 'da bums out!!!

Before it's too late.

Anything goes with Olby

Sorry, but seeing that Olby isn't a real journalist, there is no slander, no comment, no mischaracterization or character assassination that is inappropriate when applied to him

This man is vile.  Maybe he revels in vitriol the way a pig wallows in the mud but Olbermann should have no place in a decent society.  It's a complete and utter joke that this man is allowed to spew the lies and opinions he does, even in a society that praises and respects free speech the way ours does.

Normally I would defend anyone's right to free speech but in Olby's case, I would make one distinct exception.

"Timothy, guard what God has entrusted to you.  Avoid godless, foolish discussions with those who oppose you with their so-called knowledge."

Timothy 6:20

Yawn

Dare I ask, who cares what toxic, spore laden gas Moldermann emits?

Let the poster child of derangement syndromes bounce around his irrelevant rubber room 24/7 for all I care.

Keith and Larry and "ism"-ism

Sarah Palin treated Scuzzy Fava "Bean" as she would any other political candidate with whom she disagrees. Fava Bean wears a dress. Ergo, Sarah is sexist.

People oppose President O'Bama's economic and health care policies as they would any other Big-Gummint plans. One of O'Bama's parents was African. Ergo, opposing O'Bama is racist.

Chris the Wide Mouth Frog gets an exciting feeling in his leg watching O'Bama, who is "smarter than us." If that's not what it sounds like, I'd say Chris is gushing because O'Bama is the FBP, i.e., because of his race (and Chris's race, too). That sounds like racism, too--but the good kind, the kind of racism that doesn't find fault with the racee, the kind of effusive racism that purifies the racist of racially driven thought, of racial group-guilt.

Ditto with Sarah and sexism.

BTW, I am sure lookism is at play here. If Sarah were less good looking, more plain looking, then I doubt her opposition to Fava Bean would be characterized as "sexism." (But the problem for the Left is who is in the Republican's on-deck circle: Michelle Bachman, another woman with better-than-average visual impact.)

I am sure that Lawrence "My forehead is as big as Conan's and Begala's put together" O'Donnell and Chris TWMF take a special delight in being able to slam a good-looking woman with the charge of sexism, a proxy for their "let me dislike her in public some more" obsession.

Irrelevant

Has anyone else noticed liberal politicians and the MSM do that a lot?  Even when there is video proof of them saying or doing something, they will flat out lie and say that's not what they "meant," or the viewer "misunderstands."

Or Obama's favorite phrases:  "Let me make myself clear....."  "As I've said in the past...."

All I hear anymore when I listen to them is the teacher in the Charlie Brown cartoons.

Wahhh, wah, wah-wah, whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

Re Irrelevant

...or, –'you took me out of contecks'.

So, just to be clear,

So, just to be clear, getting creamed in the polls and dropping out of the race means you were forced out by the GOP? Interesting....

→ Yes, that's what it means

Let's not forget the $900,000 Republicans paid for a hand-picked liberal mole.

ACORN - creating or saving votes since 1970

Low Identification for Republicans

O'Donnell can't seem to get it through his skull that the reason that 19-20% of people identify as "Republicans" (assuming that is true) because they don't identify with the Congressional Republican leadership that all but abandoned the convervative roots of the party in the McCain/RINO idea of having a "bigger tent".  It's the same thing Rush goes on about every day.  If being Republican means like being just like the yahoos in the beltway, I'd rather not identify as one.  If it means being like Dede, then hell, I'm definitely not Republican.

Tune in for next week's

Tune in for next week's episode of "Keith and Larry", when Keith and Larry demonstrate how it IS possible for the lowest ratings to get even lower.

"Beauty is only skin deep, but liberal's to the bone." - me

I think we are the only

I think we are the only one's giving him ratings. Everyone watching is just waiting to see him finally snap. Btw, has he been a little more giddy since these shootings happened? Him and larry just can't wait for another mcVeigh. sad but true.

Once again, Olbermann

Once again, Olbermann demonstrates that he isn't serious in his commentary. He is a bomb thrower - period. His commentary isn't mean to provoke thought or discussion - just anger. He might as well have accused Palin of being an alien from the planet Xenon. It doesn't matter to him, as long as he draws an angry reaction from conservatives. He gets off on it.

The "Mainstream" Media: By liberals. For liberals.

MSNBC isn't a "real" news channel

...it's become a far left radical blog.

MSNBC gets most of their material from far left radical blogs, a few of which are George Soros owned entities.

If you want to know what MSNBC is going to air on a particular day, then read the Daily Kos, Huffpo, Democratic Underground, MediaMatters and ThinkProgress the night before.

Heck, MSNBC is even inviting these bloggers to be on their shows as if they were some kinds of experts, .

A woman for woman's sake?

Well, women sure didn't support Palin on the grounds of her gender. They are the worst harpies tearing at her!
