I think everyone should listen to the above audio link of the Lionel nervous breakdown. He is clearly losin' it here. This video is a microcosm of  what's happening in the MSM these days. I remember Lionel on the morning drive on WABC radio in NYC 15 years ago or so. He was kind of a Libertarian conservative back then -- telling all his listeners to "lock and load!"  15 years later and now he shows up on Air America as a FOX-bashing liberal. Some people will say anything you want them to as long as you meet their price.

A little off the topic of that particular left-turn nut, but I didn't see a recent open discussion. This bunch of nuts landed an article in Newsweek: "Why Health Care Reform Could Combat
Crime," I'll betcha never thought of that.

While reading an article by Geo. Will in Newsweek on why people do
not believe Obama I came across an unexpected jewel of liberal
gobblygook. Under the headline of "Why Health Care Reform Could Combat
Crime" Newsweek writes about a program in the Denver area that sent
nurses into low income mothers-to-be homes for an education.
Not the nurse's education but the education of the poor women in
parenting skills was the object. The results show a reduction in
crime committed by the children of the newly educated. However, the
story may indicate the juveniles may only have become smarter
criminals.

"It turned out that by the time the kids were 15 years old, those served
by the program had been arrested less than half as often, and convicted
only one fifth as often, as similar children who weren't given the
assistance" are the leading statistics.

In
other words, if 100 of the uneducated were arrested only 50 of the
educated offspring were. However, if 100 were convicted, only 20
educated delinquents were convicted!  Obviously, they had become a much
more wily, "educated" group of juvenile delinquents to avoid conviction
after being arrested. So what do we want? Smarter criminals possibly
avoiding arrest in the first place (based on the unintended proof of
the program producing smarter criminals)? Do we want offenders able to
game the system to reduce convictions five-fold? I have to wonder what idiots Newsweek employs to believe this program advances their push for reform. Health Care Reform,
just what the gang needs!

I wasn't aware that group still exists since Maddow and Ed have their own shows nobody watches on MSNBC. Sounds to me like yet another liberal talker that's just jealous of people who have a show that is successful. Beck is a little too "sky is falling" for me to listen to regularly but I like Rush, Hannity, and Levin when I can catch it. Michael Savage can get going but lately the Banned in Britian thing has him really worked up. It's no wonder the liberals want the Fairness Doctrine to get them into more markets where nobody will listen to them. I like podcasting anyways so I can listen when I feel like it.
