O'Reilly Claims 'Corruption': GE Using CNBC, MSNBC to Promote Cap-and-Trade for Financial Gain

Photo of Jeff Poor.

It has been something that there have been rumblings about, but no one has really put the x's and o's together entirely - that General Electric (NYSE:GE) is using its media arm, NBC Universal to promote President Barack Obama's so-called progressive agenda for its own financial gain.

However, as just previewed by Amy Ridenour, Fox News Channel host Bill O'Reilly attempted to do so at the top of his April 23 "The O'Reilly Factor" broadcast during his "Talking Points Memo" segment. O'Reilly outlined how Obama has gotten support from the NBC networks both pre-election and post-election.

"Will General Electric get paid for supporting President Obama - that is the subject of this evening's Talking Points Memo," O'Reilly said. "As everybody knows, GE, which owns NBC has been very aggressive in helping Barack Obama - first supporting the president in the election and now attacking his critics."

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

O'Reilly pointed to the change in tone at CNBC as a specific example. Certain on-air CNBC personalities had been outspoken in criticizing Obama's economic policies. However, that has changed somewhat and according to O'Reilly, CNBC Chicago Mercantile Exchange reporter Rick Santelli - the inspiration for the recent Tax Day tea party protests - had said he had been sent to a "reeducation camp."

"There is also emerging evidence that GE CEO Jeffrey Immelt and NBC News chief Jeff Zucker told CNBC personnel to stop criticizing Obama's economic policies," O'Reilly said. "Now, that would be a major breach of journalistic ethics. In fact, Obama critic Rick Santelli is reported to have said he was sent to a quote, ‘reeducation camp,' by NBC. In addition, the hateful MSNBC network continues to air vicious attacks every day."

O'Reilly played a clip from MSNBC' "Countdown with Keith Olbermann" on April 16, when Janeane Garofalo, in a hateful tirade, called Tax Day tea party protest participants "nothing but a bunch of teabagging rednecks."

"Well, this week Jeff Immelt met with GE stockholders in Florida and there was near revolt," O'Reilly continued. "That's no surprise, as also this week Forbes magazine labeled Immelt one of the worst-performing CEOs in the country."

O'Reilly also played the exchange between his producer Jesse Watters and Jeffrey Immelt at the April 22 shareholders' meeting, where he questioned the ethics of MSNBC. But, according to O'Reilly there is reason to believe the slant of MSNBC is allowed because GE stands to profit if Obama is successful in instituting his priorities, specifically cap-and-trade.

"Now, most CEOs would have stopped NBC's corruption a long time ago, but Immelt may be looking for a major payoff," O'Reilly said. "According to reporting by the Washington Examiner, GE is heavily lobbying the Obama administration for bailout money. The company is also pushing for the proposed cap-and-trade program. Apparently GE has set up a joint venture it hopes would manage billions of dollars in cap-and-trade transactions should that corporate carbon tax pass Congress."

NBC has been actively promoting green issues and this revelation by O'Reilly happens to fall during the NBC Universal networks "Green is Universal" week.

"Now think about this ladies and gentlemen - a failing corporation, General Electric might reap billions of dollars if the Feds OK the carbon deal," O'Reilly said. "By the way, GE is already getting taxpayer bailout money for its financial unit. So it's not a stretch to assume Immelt would want to help President Obama as much as possible."

According to O'Reilly, the level of corruption is so big, it stands to make Watergate look small.

"This is obviously a major story - when a powerful corporation, which controls a major part of the American media, may be using its power and the airwaves to influence politics, in order to make money from government contracts," O'Reilly said. "That kind of corruption would make Watergate look small. We hope it is not true."

Follow the money.

GE owns NBC and MSNBC, two of the biggest most blatant cheerleaders of Obama.

When liberals decry "big corporate evil", they need look no further than their own network masters.

This is a very, very interesting story.  The ramifications of this could be phenomenal, if this story comes to full public disclosure.

GE makes generators for windmills, trolling for carbon credits

Condor Cuisinart

But the reality
for people like Mr. Collins is something else. Windmill farms must be
large to be financially viable. Critics worry that beyond the blemish
on the natural landscape, these industrial-sized towers can chop up
migratory birds. One farm in California was dubbed the "condor
Cuisinart," and the ornithologist monitoring the wind farm here just
reported that at least two dozen song birds winging their way north had
been killed.

Another complaint is that wind farms can do little to reduce
overall dependence on fossil fuels, because of the unreliability of
constant wind and the inability to store its power.

"They put out such a minuscule amount of electricity," Mr. Collins said. "It's nuts."

The main reason wind is taking off now is the huge financial incentive provided by government subsidies.

How many Negative carbon credits = a Condor?

On the other hand Toshiba wants to give away one of these for free.

As currently envisioned, the Toshiba 4S (Super Safe, Small and Simple)
nuclear power system would be able to supply about 10 MW of electrical
power for 30 years without any new fuel.

HOWEVER!!!!!

The final major hurdle imposed by the NRC is the fact that their new,
streamlined licensing timeline imposes a 42-60 month delay from the
time that the application is filed until it is approved.

Reagan VS 0bama

Come on,

It isn't like GE manufactures wind turbines as well, right?

Move along folks, nothing to see here.

It will be interesting to see a major network go under.

I don't normally agree with Blowhard O'Reilly

but I think he's on point with this one.

Multiply GE by some factor

Multiply GE by some factor X representing various groups (like ACORN), companies and foreign entities and I think we'd be able to see how big the rest of the iceberg really is.

The question of course, is the value of X?

One of the 34% who thinks George W. Bush was a great President. One of the 61% who wants to bring back the stock and pillory (yep...approval for Congress now at 39%...do you believe that!?).

O'Reilly never has been a

O'Reilly never has been a hunter has he?

He should have let this go on just a bit longer.  Let them come in a bit closer.  I hope he hasn't sprung the trap too soon.

There may still be enough here to have something.  I hope so.

This has the potential to bring this joker down once and for all.

It's not as if we didn't know all politics out of Chicago is dirty as hell.  Now we have to root him and all his damn cronies out of their entrenched position.  Pelosi first, then Reid, then Franks then the rest of the damn dirty crooks.

→ There is ConRex

GE is already too heavily leveraged into a Green Administration.

The freefall of GE stock isn't over yet, but there are investors "in the know" who will snatch up humongous blocks of the stock at severely depressed prices just before Cap-n-Trade barely passes Congress.

I'm thinking if I had some cash set aside when GE hits $5.50/sh, it could hit $35/sh after the big deal goes down.

Obama - A whole new dementian

After a several month

After a several month sabbatical from The Factor, I am considering a resumption of viewing just to witness the very real possibility of O'Reilly's colossal head exploding on air from the cranial stresses caused by his uncontrolable pathological obsession with GE/NBC.  This increasingly intensifying vendetta has moved well beyond the point of 'moderately interesting' to the realm of 'truly disturbing'.

Jer

They are hopelessely anti- America.

pahuber...

The Big O has lost all sense of proportion, rationality and objectivity when it comes to GE/NBC/MSNBC/CNBC--just as Olbermann has done likewise regarding O'Reilly by virtue of his (KO's) obsessive vendetta.  They both are behaving like eight-year-old kids.

Jer

My friend, yes friend, you are incorrect on this one.

I am really not a fan of Bill O'  even tho I do watch him, unless so busy w/ somthing else going on.

Bill O' has Olber by the nuts on this issue...so much more than vice versa.  I am willing to hear you on this, but must be honest that you, in my opinion, are carrying Olbermann's water, my friend.

Take care, and I will be here.

pahuber...

First of all, thanks for the kind words.

In all honesty, I am a fan of neither.  I watched O'Reilly regularly for years.  I have never watched KO, nor do I care to defend him.  This entire issue is agenda-driven by both of these obnoxious loudmouths.  O'Reilly would have never uttered a peep about GE if it weren't the parent company of MSNBC which BO hates with an unrestrained fury.

Jer

Actually Jer

I had heard this from other sources than BOR.I am no fan of BOR but once in awhile he is right. This is one of the times.Obama/GE connection smells of corruption big time.Obama is paying off his supporters as he did with the unions. That dont cut it.

If oil had stayed at $140 a barrel O'Reilly would still be after those price gouging thieves at Exxon Mobil and the obscene profits generated by other BIG OIL.

That said, this is kind of fun to watch.

You don't see the connection?

Between GE/NBC and their obsessive "Green Agenda" compared to the other networks?

I fail to see the humor Uncle Jer.

President Obama won the popular vote by some 7 million votes. These were not hard core Democrat voters or turned Republican voters. They were uninformed under-educated voters that were kept uninformed by news organizations such as MSNBC.

Now, we have the MSNBC organization rabidly pushing all things Obama. And rabidly against all things anti-Obama. Witness the whole teabagging debacle. They are not news anymore. They are agenda.

GE will profit handsomely from the greening of America. From compact fluorescent lightbulbs to windmills. Their wholy owned subsidiary NBC was pushing green week in a big way this last week. GE will profit handsomely from cap & trade should they get the contract to run the cap & trade system. Everything dependent on energy will now have to go through this cap & trade system. Energy suppliers directly and everything that uses energy in it's manufacture aka Everything.

Immelt supported Obama in the election. Immelt supports Obama in Cap & Trade. Immelt supports Obama in the spendulus. Oh poo, this could go on for days. Let's just say what Immelt disagrees with on Obama - <crickets>

Maybe after all, there might not be too much there there. But funny? Troll type internet laughy funny? Uncle Jer debasing himself making the internet laughy funny Ha Ha's?

  I don't see it.

Sincerely,

a Veteran of a 1000 psychic wars.

Then look a little harder, JWF...

My laughter--admittedly but unintentionally excessive--was in response to the absolute absurdity of O'Reilly's statement [which I quoted].

Jer

Not seeing the absurdity Uncle Jer.

I have said it here before on NB. This was nothing less that a coup by the MSM to get their man elected. They absolutely ran cover for then Senator Obama.

The biggest man running cover - MSNBC. Out there Rambo style with the 2 M1's. One in each hand.

So now a coup by the MSM keeping the uninformed just as uninformed as they were at the start. This is funny? Maybe I am off. Maybe I am wrong. Maybe BOR is wrong.

But big internet troll type laughy laughies? I hardly see it. Enlighten me.

Sincerely,

a Veteran of a 1000 psychic wars.

I will try a little harder as requested Uncle Jer.

Watergate was the cover up of a 3rd rate burglary of the opposing political faction's office. Little was gained by the burglary. As a matter of fact, the burglars were interrupted in the attempt.

The MSM ran cover for a presidential candidate possibly being the reason he was eventually elected. GE owns 2 of the biggest MSM outlets that ran cover. This was very possibly a coup by the MSM. It would not be so upsetting if a worthy candidate was was ushered into office. We would just be asking that steps be taken to insure that this never happens again.

NO. They got a complete incompetent elected. One that is now actively advocating indicting the previous administration solely for political reasons. Something that has never been done before in the history of the United States.

So I do not see the warranting of one HA let alone 120.

Sincerely,

a Veteran of a 1000 psychic wars.

Yea, I am still not laughing. Hmmm. Inform me Uncle Jer.

Odd that you bring up watergate in your big internet troll laughter post.

Nixon very possibly commited crimes. His underlings most certainly did some jail time. Crimes related to one party keeping and maintaining power, correct? And yet, He was pardoned. And the whole affair was ceremoniously dropped once President Nixon was pardoned.

Now we have another administration that is looking to get investigated, indicted, possibly tried. A situation that could further tear at the fabic of this country. For what? Corruption? Taking bribes? Power grabbing? Murder? Greed?

No. For taking steps to protect this country.

Once again. I am not seeing teh funny today Uncle Jer. Enlighten me.

Sincerely,

a Veteran of a 1000 psychic wars.

I finally remembered where I have seen your tag line from!

It's been driving me nuts trying to remember that.  Yeah, yeah, I could have Googled it, but what's the fun in making it easy?

Cool beans.

Absolutely correct sir.

See my profile for further reading on the subject. That is where the line came from.

From a previous post of mine -

It started out as a simple line from a song I liked in a movie from a simpler time long ago.

It stuck because it hit a raw nerve with liberals. They hate veterans. They hate it when America prevails in wars. They are scared of the boogeyman so the psychic thing gives them the heebie jeebies. Plus, they can't count higher than the mid 20's so that big number makes their brain go into vapor lock.

**JWF

I see he was banned.  Normally I would say something here about "Freedom of Speech" and what-not, but as evidenced by my tag line, this williams411 reaped his full reward for being so f-ing obnoxious.

JWF... I did not bring up

JWF...

I did not bring up Watergate...O'Reilly did.  My response was not a comment on GE's possible corruption.  It was merely noting the ludicrous claim by O'Reilly that he hoped the evidence of wrongdoing wasn't true.  It is beyond disengenuous.  If you follow O'Reilly at all, you know he hopes every damn bit of it is true.

Jer

Uncle Jer is forgiven again.

Ah. Yes. BOR would possibly not hope it wasn't true. Still not worth the troll internet laughings though. Sorry my funny bone is broken.

Mark down the date. Tuesday, April 21, 2009, is the moment that any chance of a new era of bipartisan respect in Washington ended. By inviting the prosecution of Bush officials for their antiterror legal advice, President Obama has injected a poison into our politics that he and the country will live to regret

But at least until now, the U.S. political system has avoided the spectacle of a new Administration prosecuting its predecessor for policy disagreements.

The political convenience of this distinction for Mr. Obama betrays its basic injustice. And by the way, everyone agrees that senior officials, including President Bush, approved these interrogations. Is this President going to put his predecessor in the dock too?

Mr. Obama may think he can soar above all of this, but he'll soon learn otherwise. The Beltway's political energy will focus more on the spectacle of revenge, and less on his agenda. The CIA will have its reputation smeared, and its agents second-guessing themselves. And if there is another terror attack against Americans, Mr. Obama will have set himself up for the argument that his campaign against the Bush policies is partly to blame.

Above all, the exercise will only embitter Republicans, including the moderates and national-security hawks Mr. Obama may need in the next four years. As patriotic officials who acted in good faith are indicted, smeared, impeached from judgeships or stripped of their academic tenure, the partisan anger and backlash will grow. And speaking of which, when will the GOP Members of Congress begin to denounce this partisan scapegoating? Senior Republicans like Mitch McConnell, Richard Lugar, John McCain, Orrin Hatch, Pat Roberts and Arlen Specter have hardly been profiles in courage.

Mr. Obama is more popular than his policies, due in part to his personal charm and his seeming goodwill. By indulging his party's desire to criminalize policy advice, he has unleashed furies that will haunt his Presidency.

 http://online.wsj.com/article/SB124044375842145565.html

That in my opinions outweighs the GE-gate even more.

Sincerely,

a Veteran of a 1000 psychic wars.

Obama: "Cap & Trade Will Cause Electricity Rates To Skyrocket"

Who Do You Bet Goes Waco First: Olbermann or O'Reilly?

This is something that I have been hearing about on the Phil Hendrie show lately. Basically, he has equal distain for both Keith Olbermann (or Olberfuher, as he likes to call him) and Bill O'Reilly (or Meathead, as he likes to call him.) The question he has presented was as follows: Who do you think will go off the deep end and goes on a shooting spree at the office first: Olberfuher or Meathead? He reasons that Olbermann might blow a nerve if Obama doesn't give into his demands and might shoot up 30 Rockefeller Center. Hendrie does believe that O'Reilly might be the first based off of a passage in a novel he wrote, where a fired journalist (in the first person) goes to his former employers and starts shooting up the place. Hendrie rationalizes that writing about killing someone in the first person is usually an indicator as to whether you might be a psychopath in the key of Columbine killer Eric Harris, who allegedly wrote in first person stories about killing teachers and students. It's not some biased opinion because Hendrie has discussed the psychology of psychopaths and how to deal with them in recent weeks, and he seriously believes that O'Reilly showcases some of those characteristics.

Of course anything can happen, and it might be Olbermann who goes off the deep end first.

Hey 7Sticks

Neither O'Reilly nor Olbermann are government officials.

Why would either of them burn down a house full of children?

Well Cool...

Maybe he thinks they exhibit the characteristics of the actual firestarter, murderer of innocents, and rapist of ten year old girls:  the despicable, rotting in Hell, David Koresh.

Jer

→ Hey Jer

You actually have proof Koresh raped 10yr old girls?  You have seen the depositions?

Or do you have the word of Janet Reno?  Does it not strike you as convenient that the victims Reno attempted to save were killed in the assault?

Sure he was despicable.  But as I've reminded you before, Janet Reno labelled him as mentally deranged.  As such, perhaps you could tellus under what conditions law enforcement is justified in attacking with tanks when the hostage holder has already been diagnosed as mentally unstable?

But I still don't see either O'Reilly or Olbermann as arsonists or pedophiles.  Do you have information with regard to that comparison?

Obama - A whole new dementian

Cool...

Cool...

I could care less about Janet Reno, other than the fact that both she and Clinton were unjustifiably blamed for the murders commited by Koresh.

As noted in my response to bt, I listened to the interview of one young woman who was ten years old when Koresh got her into a motel room, stripped her naked and then tried to sexually assault her.  He was unable to fully penetrate the child, but I'm sure it was sufficient to legally constitute actual as well as statutory rape.

He also "married" other young girls and fathered a number of children.   He split up husbands and wives and decreed that only he [the embodiment of Christ] could have sex with the women in the compound.  He would preach for hours at a time and tell the children if they had to use the bathroom they would have to urinate or deficate on themselves.

It was not a tank "attack."

The reason for the tanks was to provide protection for the personnel inserting the tear gas since Koresh and other Davidians had previously murdered their fellow officers, and Koresh had a freakin' arsenal and was ranting about Armegeddon.

I'm tired of that piece of shit being defended.

Evidence of O'Reilly or Olbermann as potential arsonists or pedophiles?  No, none whatsoever.

Jer

I'm tired of second string

I'm tired of second string leftist nitwits defending Bill Clinton, Janet Reno and those thugs at the ATF for their heavy handed and extra-legal actions at Waco.

So you've read the 'official reports' ?  I am sure you found them as credible as the various other government reports about such subjects as WMD in Iraq and the Valeri Plame affair.

Have you also read the Posse Comitatus Act?   Those tanks and helicopters the government used against the Branch Davidians, they DID belong to the US Military didn't they?  What does the Posse Comitatus Act say about that?

Which of the offenses you have outlined above as committed by Koresh is a federal offense?  Aren't all of the ones you listed Texas offenses?

Doesn't it bother you that the warrant used by the Feds for that raid was based on a perjured statement?  That the firearms allegations made therein proved to be false?

Aren't you aware that the local Sheriff of Waco County had previously arrested Koresh without incident and he had stood trial with four other men for attempted murder?  If the Feds really wanted Koresh taken into custody, the best way was probably to ask the local sheriff to do it.

Clinton and Reno, at the least, deserve to be crminal prosecution for violating the Posse Comitatus Act.  I think their negligence goes much further.  To conduct a grandstand raid on a dommsday cult displays gross ignorance on the part of the government officials responsible.  I think Koresh could have been picked up without incident by a low key approach, had there been sufficient evidence to issue an arrest warrant.

I see you condemn Koresh based on accuasations whose validity has have never been tested in court. Where is you outrage of the government's ham-fisted, illegal handling of this situation?

NL207...

And I'm tired of the constant derision from an annoying egotist consumed with first-rate arrogance while hampered by a third-rate intellect devoid of the most rudimentary analytical skills, and a noxious manner that holds common courtesy in contempt.  That you graduated from MIT is even more astounding than Obama matriculating at Harvard Law.

I haven't read the Posse Comitatus Act since law school decades ago, but I'm familiar with its core tenets.  Have you bothered to even glance at the Danforth Commission Final Report?  If you haven't, you need to.  And if you have, your ignorance of its findings is stunning.

But, please, find someone else to debate and demean.  You bore me.

Jer

2nd String

("Doesn't it bother you that the warrant used by the Feds for that raid was based on a perjured statement? That the firearms allegations made therein proved to be false"?

"Aren't you aware that the local Sheriff of Waco County had previously arrested Koresh without incident and he had stood trial with four other men for attempted murder? If the Feds really wanted Koresh taken into custody, the best way was probably to ask the local sheriff to do it".)

Koresh went jogging by himself, down a country road several times a week, he also went out to eat at a public resturaunt at least once a week. Arresting Koresh without incident would have been no problem. And those kids burned to death by cinton/reno and co. would still be alive and safe. Suggesting that you are 2nd string is generous, oh but i forget you're "the good" baby killing lib on this site. Oh well, yore always good for a few grins.!!~~!!

Remember, only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier

The font of emotional

The font of emotional hypocrisy overflows once again.  Bore you?  Hah!   Your actions speak far louder than your words.

The Danforth Report [redacted] is a complete waste of time.  Why?  It is an apologist report for outrageous action by the Federal government.

One of its many ridiculous conclusions:  While the report openly admits military assets were used against the Davidians and even details what those assets were [Section 4], it claims that these were operated soley by civilan law enforcement personnel at the time of use and therefore were not assets of the military, so Posse Comitatus was not violated.  I call this rubbish.  Those armored vehicles were right back at Fort Hood and the 1st Cav after Waco was over.  They were assets of the US Army, period.  You, however, are willing to accept this lame excuse.

Then there is Article IV, Section A of this report which contains this:   "While there, he learned that Koresh had heard about the planned execution of a warrant and that the operation had been compromised. Indeed, local media had also learned of the planned search and arrest and had preceded ATF to the complex to cover the entry. Rodriguez reported to his supervisors that Koresh knew about ATF’s operation. ATF supervisors nonetheless decided to execute the warrant on February 28."

You don't think the ATF was just a little stupid?  I think they were criminally negligent.

You're welcome to continue to defend the government's conduct of this matter.  I will enjoy ripping you to shreds.

NL207...

Will you agree to a truce regarding personal comments?  [That doesn't mean you can't rip my arguments to shreds.]  If so, I'll be happy to discuss and debate this later tonight.

Jer

So upcountrywater...

Please tell me how verbally retaliating against Kilrod who--without any provocation whatsoever--called me a "baby killer" is being hypocritical on my part.  That kind of disgraceful slur should be a banning offense and every person with any sense of decency should agree.

Jer

I can accept that. I can

I can accept that.

I can even agree with you that David Koresh might have needed prosecution under Texas law for his conduct vis-a-vis female minors in the Branch Davidian compound.  However, those allegatins, even if true, are not Federal offenses and fall under the jurisdiction of the State of Texas and the Waco County Prosecutor.  You have cited this earlier in this thread as additional justification for the vile ATF treatment of the Davidians.   I reject this claim.

WASHINGTON (AP) - An FBI lawyer ``goofed'' in not telling superiors in 1996
that federal agents fired pyrotechnic tear gas canisters into the Branch
Davidians' compound in Waco, Texas,
a former senator who investigated the deadly
raid said Wednesday.

Danforth, a longtime Republican senator from Missouri, was appointed by
Attorney General Janet Reno to investigate the siege after the government
acknowledged, following years of denials, that it used pyrotechnic tear gas
canisters during the final assault.

bt...

Nobody has or can prove me wrong about that murdering bastard Koresh.  I have read the official reports.  The evidence that he ordered the fires set which burned innocent children is irrefutable.  I have listened to interviews of the surviving children.  Koresh is a loathesome rapist.  If there is a God in Heaven, that son of a bitch is surely rotting in Hell.  Please don't defend that monster.

Jer

Jer... Blah blah

Jer...

Blah blah blah....we have been through this ad nauseum, not doing it again, just wait until you have ucw to banter with again...okay?

Ster... You do get

Ster...

You do get around, don't you.  Just a few weeks ago, I thought you were registered at only 3 of the major lib websites.

If you want to have a debate or dialogue, fine.  But please dispense with the BS about talking points.  I don't use them, I don't need them, and I'm offended by any suggestion that I do.

Jer

**jer

Please forgive this intrusion, but I must ask:

I hear a lot about "talking points".  Not to sound completely oblivious and ignorant, (but I fear I am in this particular matter), but what exactly are "talking points"?

I'm like you, I think, in that I write whatever is already in my head.  Are "talking points" like some kind of 'cheat sheet" or something?

And I am assuming both conservatives and liberals have "talking points", is that right?

This is a genuine question.  Please don't flame me or attack me or whatever!  I'm curious.

Pelican

If I may (I suspect Jer is otherwise occupied).

Talking points....a tool used by some posters (here, mostly the leftists)....who spout and tout the "party line".

Think william411 on that silly troll thread...."Faux News".

Of course, the left accuses us of using BOR, Hannity, and Rush talking points.

Talking points are for those without critical thinking skills....knee jerk reactions and standard canned rhetoric.

Does that clear this up for you?  :)

I hope he fails, too.

**Blonde --

Talking points are for those without critical thinking skills....knee jerk reactions and standard canned rhetoric.

Yes!  That cleared it up perfectly!

So williams411 was just a sycophantic parrot, then.  I get it now.

Thanks so much, Blonde.

Pelican... I was

Pelican...

I was returning to respond to your "talking points" query and noticed that Blonde and Ster have already done so.  I endorse their explanations with the caveat that I would contend conservatives are just as guilty as liberals.  [Of course, as a liberal, you would expect nothing less from me.]

Just for the record, I would describe "talking points" as a series of canned or preproduced informational statements regarding a particular issue and derived from an ideologically sympathetic source to be merely regurgitated by the user in support or defense of the issue at hand without the user applying any independent thought or analysis of his own.

Jer

**Jer

Thank you for your insight!  Yeah, Blonde hooked me up with what-was-what, so I am now officially smarter than I was a couple of minutes ago!  Yay, me!

And I had kinda figured that these "talking point" things were probably on both sides of the fence, so to speak.  I can dig it.

Thanks for your response!

Oh, no, wait a minute...I'm not in this debate!  I'm just passing time, waiting for sleep to come so I can rest my bones.

I'm not looking for confrontation right now.

Unless that last post was directed towards jer and not me specifically...if so, then cool beans.

And Blonde answered my questions handily.

Please don't put me into this debate!

Haven't listened lately, been working some. Nice to hear your voice on here.

Jesus Loves You so much He died for you

cocodrie...

The honest official happens to be John Danforth, a Republican and an ordained minister.

I would have hoped, cocodrie, that you would be especially sensitive to, and outraged by, the horrific carnage that was directly caused by the monstrous religious charlatan and false prophet David Koresh.

This terrible man was the destroyer of innocents.

God bless you.

Jer

→ Thanks Jer

But you never defined the circumstances under which law enforcement attacks a home with a tank, given the Law Enforcement authority had declared publicly the hostage-holder was mentally deranged.

After days of standoff, surely there was a trigger.  If it is your contention the action would have been the same had it been Chelsea Clinton instead of a bunch of trailer-trash kids, I won't agree, but I'll drop the argument.

Hey ucw... You do not

Hey ucw...

You do not know how much I thank you for this info...it is going to go viral in this state now...plus reps  local state and feds are going to be hearing about this...plus I think it is a long time coming that I write to the local papers again.

Rehberg, Baucus and Tester had better pay attention to this, like they do the 2nd Amendment.

Speaking of which, if they ever showed up around these parts, it would be the last you ever hear of them by the local folks.

Billings is a long way off from us, but it is still in our state, Hardin and the fix they got themselves in can go to hell.

Here is a county near us, in fact I lived in the area at one time and wanted to buy property in the Swan Valley, it was a great buy...anyway, here is an example of in-state secession....and I understand completely why they want to do this...these greenies move in, silently, they are paid to do so, and take over the communities with law-suits in conjunction with the bigger groups that fund these people to locate here, it is and has been going on over the NW and AK for years and years now.

Jer is back in town. I read your posts and you have to conclude one thing, you have to be a liberal. No matter how ridiculous you sound you think in the real world you make sense. Please JER the Pablum is ready.

The word "Claims" should be taken out of the title

GE is corrupt.  They are paying the price for it with bad results in their TV divisions and losing in GE Capital.  O'Reilly had a scary suggestion that GE could get billions if certain cap and trade BS is passed by 0bama to pay them back for sucking up to him.

May GE go the way of the dodo bird and become extinct.  Shareholders are angry and should take action to change the board and push for changes in senior managment for bad decisions and for losing money.  It was once a great company.  No longer with Imelt and Zucker pushing their liberal agendas.
