Is Donald Trump angry at Miss California Carrie Prejean? Or is it just another trumped up charge from the liberal media?
The April 22 episode of "Access Hollywood" teased viewers that Miss California was under a serious threat of losing her crown - since she was late for a meeting with Donald Trump, the organizer of the Miss USA pageant in which Prejean was the runner-up, and that her position on same-sex marriage somehow contradicted what Miss California's position was supposed to be.
"New and serious trouble for Miss California you will only find out here," "Access Hollywood" co-host Nancy O'Dell announced in the show's teaser.
(Video embedded below the fold)
"Access Hollywood" co-host Billy Bush seemed to think it was a big deal Prejean was late for an appointment with Trump.
"Our camera caught her marching in the Donald's office - late, and that made Trump a grump," co-host Billy Bush reported. "Twenty minutes late to meet the very punctual Trumpster, maybe not a great start for Miss California's Carrie Prejean."
However, upon leaving the meeting, Prejean gave no indication of having been admonished.
"Forty minutes later, a still smiling Miss California left Trump Tower," Bush added.
The segment featured footage of "Access Hollywood" reporters peppering Prejean with questions, undeterred by the fact that most of them had already been asked and answered during her many national TV appearances.
"Access Hollywood" also interviewed Keith Lewis, the co-executive director of Miss California USA. He told Bush he disagreed with Prejean's view of same-sex marriage, and hinted that he would like to see Prejean take another course with her political views, but her state crown was safe.
"You know, she will continue as long as she is able to serve our state and right now she's speaking from Carrie Prejean's position," Lewis said. "And hopefully real soon, she's going to be back speaking from Miss California's position."
But technically, Prejean is speaking from Miss California's position - or at least the position of a majority of Californians. In November, California voters adopted Proposition 8, which established marriage as a union between a man and a woman, by a 52 percent to 48 percent margin.
Still, that didn't stop the "Access Hollywood" co-hosts from insinuating Prejean was in some sort of trouble for speaking out against same-sex marriage.

You go Miss Cali!
April 23, 2009 - 12:09 ET by BDelaneyI never thought I would say those words! Of course the media is going to attack her in every which way they can for a while until they forget about her. Which will probably be by tomorrow.
Soft Indoctrination.
April 23, 2009 - 12:45 ET by allanfAccess Hollywood, VH1, MTV are key indoctrination tools of the left. Aimed at young people, they teach a vapid set of values. A view of CNN's ShowBiz Today will show more snarky bias than even that networks hard news shows.
Soft indoctrination is a big problem. They tell youngsters if you want to be cool, you must think this way.
Hip to be square
April 23, 2009 - 12:51 ET by Sergeant ROCK'Soft Indoctrination'.. I like that term. Is that original? I don't see any references on Wikipedia - you should put that on there.

Soft Indoctrination
April 23, 2009 - 16:01 ET by allanfI just coined the term. It is a new level of indoctrination. Rather than explaining theories, the media just seeks to identify a set of beliefs and people as hip and cool.
Soft indoctrination differs from the hard core political indoctrination one finds on college campuses today.
Not quite
April 24, 2009 - 00:57 ET by danebramageThe term is new. The type of indoctrination is not new at all. This has been going on forever in high schools at the social level, and it entered the realm of politics during the hippie/anti-Vietnam era. Back then, you weren't cool and "with" what was happening unless you listened to the cool bands and agreed with their cool message (libertinism, opposition to the war, rebellion against tradition and ancient, hard-won truth), and went to the cool concerts and smoked dope with all the other cool people. You had to think Abbie Hoffman was cool and Nixon was a tool. You had to sympathize with groups like the Weather Underground and other splinter groups of the SDS man, because even if they used extreme methods, they were just trying to free our minds and fight the man and all that other stupid s**t, man.
This occurred separate from anything happening on campus. It was communicated through magazines like Rolling Stone and other cultural vehicles, as well as through good, old-fashined peer pressure. What's happening today is nothing different, it's just more widespread, issuing from more official places as the leftist hippies of yesterday have moved into positions that used to be occupied by real adults.
Soft Indoctrination
April 24, 2009 - 08:19 ET by allanfThe first step to stopping this kind of indoctrination is to give it a name. The name alerts the non cognesenti that to be wary.
These entertainment shows are particularly pernicious and have all the balance of MSNBC.
God Bless Miss California!!! Wow, for once we get someone
April 23, 2009 - 12:10 ET by pahuberfrom there that is actually lucid.
Checking on the runner ups & their responses I have come to the conclusion that she was rejected for her one view.
Looking at the other contestants she was by far the most attractive.

Can anyone say 1984? It
April 23, 2009 - 12:11 ET by ThisnThatCan anyone say 1984?
It will be a society that grows more, not less merciless as it refines itself, and a society without art, literature, or science, so that there are no distractions from their devotion to the Party, or any unorthodox thought, which is also meant to be achieved through the eventual eradication of Modern English, or "Oldspeak". During a session, O'Brien explains that the purpose of the ordeal at the Ministry of Love is to alter Winston's way of thinking, not to extract a confession, and that once Winston unquestioningly accepts reality as the Party describes it, he will be executed.
So please, Miss Calif, start altering your way of thinking.

Lawsuit?
April 23, 2009 - 12:14 ET by moderncommentaries83How does this woman not have sufficient grounds for a lawsuit against Perez Hilton, Miss California USA, and now Access Hollywood?
Isn't this slander? Isn't this harrassment? Isn't this discrimination on the grounds of religious beliefs?
People sue for, and win cases, on a lot less.

Even if so, she gets
April 24, 2009 - 01:12 ET by danebramageEven if so, she gets farther with the public by not pursuing it. As a matter of fact, she's handling this whole thing so far like a seasoned pro and in the process making her enemies look like the fools they are.
Miss Prejean may be blonde, but she ain't dumb, I'll tell you that. Either that, or her enemies are being absolutely beaten into the ground by dumb, which wouldn't by any means be beyond the realm of possibility.
Most Obnxious Hollywood Lefties
April 23, 2009 - 12:19 ET by V the KOn a related note, a list of the most obnoxious Hollywood Lefties. What do you think? Good choices, or not?
I might say that clearing the fags out of the contest
April 23, 2009 - 12:19 ET by Calypso Jonesmight be a good idea but we know what kind of hell that would bring down on The Donald. Ms. Prejean has already said, if they want the crown, come get it. Did i hear Ms (NC) USA comment on the 'misdeeds' of Carrie Prejean? IF so, then this contest is finished. If that is the behavior that is uplauded in a Miss USA then you can have her. I actually expected maybe another week or so before the assasination squad got to work on Miss California. More is coming, i'm sure.

Memo
April 23, 2009 - 12:32 ET by ScottyDogNot only did we pass prop 8 we also passed proposition 22 which stated:"Only marriage between a man and a woman is valid or recognized in California".
What part of man and woman do these buggers not understand ?
It seems some people like Acess Hollywood have not received the memo.
MSM Journalism 101 make things up
April 23, 2009 - 12:33 ET by jgarciaThe MSM has become the BULLIES I use to deal with at my junior high school level…..
52.9% was President Obama % of voters and 52% of CA voters voted for Proposition 8……. Now my thought is…… if folks like Perez want Proposition 8 overturned solely based on “because they didn’t like how it turned out” … can folks that didn’t vote for Obama ask for the same thing?
This is how you do it
April 23, 2009 - 12:35 ET by Lord ErondDon't watch access Hollywood. Boycott it. Boycott their sponsors, don't watch MSNBC or any of the other leftist garbage. Never go back to it again. When these shlockmeisters realize that the leftist pov doesn't sell or pisses everyone off, it will stop.

When did this happen
April 23, 2009 - 13:16 ET by Tom PaineWhen did we reach the point that espousing what has been the view of civilized society for the past 5,000 years is suddenly considered “controversial”? It seems like only a few years ago that were told that we had to be more “tolerant” of the homosexual lifestyle. Most of us were willing to do that. Then it wasn’t enough to just tolerate them, we had to “accept” them. Then companies had to go bankrupt to offer them “domestic partner” health insurance benefits. (Anyone remember the expressions Moral Hazard and Adverse Selection from Economics class?) Then it was a call for “civil unions” which rapidly escalated to a call for full marital benefits. Now we have Mario Armando Lavandeira, Jr. (AKA Perez Hilton), throwing a hissy because Miss California dared to express an opinion that deviated from the party line after he ambushed her. He then proceeded to attack her on the most vile and personal level that would never be tolerated if it were directed at him. Now the pinheads from Access Hollywood have (light)weighed in on the subject as well. Once again, I’m confused. Aren’t the liberals always preaching to us that we are the ones who need to be tolerant of opposing viewpoints?
It is clear that the left is
April 23, 2009 - 14:53 ET by MrSnugglesIt is clear that the left is attempting to make it morally wrong to oppose gay marriage publically. Then, later, it will become illegal.
I find it amazing
April 23, 2009 - 17:31 ET by Deskpilotthat Ms Califonia is getting more air and discussion time than the Winner. I love it. Although I know that the super fagot who started this fire-storm will never gpollute these pages, this is a classic definition of UNINTENDED CONSEQINECES, in this case, the after show blogging.
If he could have had the tolerance to keep his mouth shut, this would not be an issue. But NO!!!! Intolerance has to be spewn violently from his teabagging mouth and the whole world can see his rage.
Even if Ms USA has a sucessful reign, she will NEVER be able to get away from the controversey that surrounded the final judging. Just like in COPS, you can't outrun Motorola (or in this case SONY, mfr of TV cameras).
I hope that Ms. Prejean's resume is as attractive as she is, so that Fox News can put another intelligent, honest , and by the way attractive, women in their line-up, and SOON.
If you can read this, thank a teacher. If you can read it in English, You're welcome - Deskpilot, AM(H)1 (AW), USN (Ret)
Carrie Prejean
April 23, 2009 - 18:17 ET by blazermaniacCarrie is a great American! Carrie spoke her mind and should be applauded. Perez Hilton, should go to Vermont, and get married there, to a faggot. Because, PEREZ HILTON IS A QUEER! How this idiot even gets involved in this type of show, amazes me. Five years ago, this gay marriage discussion would heve never started. Now, we have a bunch of losers trying to force a lousy policy down the peoples throats. And by the way, PEREZ, California voted this down last November.
Re amazing
April 23, 2009 - 19:03 ET by slickwillie2001Yep; I can't even tell you who won or what state she was from. In a career sense, I believe Carrie is the runaway winner.
Seriously, why is that gay
April 23, 2009 - 21:54 ET by RR GOPSeriously, why is that gay men (and women, too) are so intimidated and afraid of beautiful straight women?
I'd be intimidated, too, but I sure has hell wouldn't lash out (I'd be lucky to even remember my name if I met her!).
