Lehman CEO Contributed Heavily to Democrats – Will Media Notice?

Photo of Jeff Poor.

You would think what donors are cozy with which campaigns - especially in the midst of a presidential election cycle - might be a relevant story for the media,  especially at a time when everyone is quick to point fingers at which political party is to blame for financial turmoil.

When Lehman Brothers CEO Richard Fuld testified before the House Oversight Committee Oct. 6, the media criticized his wealth and spending amidst financial turmoil in his company and on Wall Street. But conspicuously missing was the story of Fuld's political contributions.

According to the Center for Responsive Politics, Fuld has donated to Democratic candidates over Republican candidates by a margin of almost 5-to-1 in the last 15 years. He has given $106,400 to Democratic candidates and political action committees (PACs), and just $22,800 to Republican candidates and PACS dating back to 1993.

What did they focus on instead? "NBC Nightly News" took the populist approach and focused on the embattled former CEO's compensation.

"But members of Congress noted that Fuld remains a wealthy man," NBC correspondent Lisa Myers said on the Oct. 6 "Nightly News." "He collected $342 million as CEO over 14 years. He owns a $21 million apartment in New York City, an $8 million estate in Connecticut and a $13 million estate in Florida."

Wealth sucks

Wealth is BAD! The MSM made that clear to me.

But I bet Brokow, Matthews, Olbermann, Mitchell, Sawyer, and assorted liberal columnists etc don't live in cookie cutter homes in suburbia USA.

Heck, even Rev. Jeremiah Wright lives in a multi-million dollar home in a white neighborhood.

And he hates America!

(Wonder if he'd call the police if someone from his 'hood' got a little too close to his gated entrance?)

Wake Up

Fuld contributed heavily to Democrats, then a Democratic controlled Congress turns around and rakes him across the coals.  What does that tell you?

That they are all

That they are all scum-bags. And I mean that in the nicest way possible.

That comment my friend, is

That comment my friend, is an insult to scum-bags.

Wouldn't it have been great...

...if Mr. Fuld had said something along the lines, "...you all shared in my wealth, as I donated heavily to you Democrats. So what's the big deal...?"

That would have been classic. Talk about calling a recess quickly, so they could call their staffers to setup press conferences to start the "spin cycle" - the cell towers in the immediate area would have gone into melt down...

Dammit!

Why didn't Fuld go right back at Waxman? Is it right that now that the country is in crisis(or whatever phrase that balding nitwit used to blame Fuld for every economic woe of the country), that you, Mr. Waxman still have a job??? Where were you when this crisis was percolating? When the country wins, you win, with your salary, your perks, your unbelievable retirement package. And when the country loses, you STILL win!!

ASSHAT!

And a big 'welcome back' to

And a big 'welcome back' to the national scene for Nostrils Waxman!

During Slick's impeachment hearings, I used to fantasize about jamming two fingers into those hideous orifices and dragging him around the White House lawn. (while wearing gloves, of course.)

Sickoflibs

Don't be too hard on Waxman, he has large nostrils because he has very large fingers.

Didn't one of the panel

Didn't one of the panel members tell him that he was picked for blame??  That was a sound bite played back that I heard this morning on the radio.

He is a scape goat, he has been choosen as the sacrifice to cover up the incompetence of the Dems. How ironic the Dem leadership has decided to devour one of their own underlings.  I'm sure they will find a few more patsies to take the fall for them.

That's right Dems blame greedy Wall Street for financing your decisions!  Who set the loan standards?  Wall Street or Your moron cronies at Fannie and Freddie???  If Wall Street is to blame for anything it would be the stupidity of believing the value of the mortgages sold by Frannie and Freddie were backed by the full faith and credit of the US.  Now where would they get such an idea???? Hmmm, the people who pushed down the standards and refused to reform both Frannie and Freddie.  That's makes you in Congress confidence men.

Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid, starving the poor one gallon of ethanol at a time. Fill your tank with E85 and cull a village.

Extort some more

Ah that is why they are having a hearing. The Dem's want to know whether  they can stll extort more from Mr Fuld after Lehman Bros. has folded.

Will the media

Will the media notice?

Will they notice what???????

HOW WILL MEDIA PLAY THIS?

KOOK LEFT: LIES TO COVER VOTER FRAUD (again)

Steal Back Your Vote!
Bobby Kennedy Jr. and I have had it UP TO HERE. They stole 2000. They
stole 2004. Now, they’re snatching it again. So Bobby and I are doing
the most important thing we can do in a crisis of democracy: write an
investigative comic book.

Here it is: Steal Back Your Vote is out today. Download it right now at StealBackYourVote.ORG
Its 24 full-color pages cut open the Rove-arian cancer on our ballot
box: the Six Ways They’re Stealing Your Vote – plus a two-page pull-out
guide – 7 Ways to Steal it Back.
Print it out. Pass it out. Right now.
Illustrations from the rapier-sharp pencils of Ted Rall, Troubletown’s Lloyd Dangle and Lukas Ketner.

CRAWFISH NOTE: This is the latest Greg Kook Palast
e mail letter. This is so amazing. The socialist Party (demcrats) have
been convicted via ACORN in 6 states are are being investigated in 14
others. They had tombstone votes in more than one election. Republicans
are always too nice to body slam the thugs. They slashed Repub vehicle
tires in a recent election. They bus ghetto folks like pets to the
polls and tell them how to vote for a small payoff. They are currently
registering the homeless, the convicts and the illegals.

The have no ethical boundaries. The big ploy is always to give them
cover by the diversion of yelling that the Republicans will be “again”
stealing votes.
Palast and company are sick people. Dangerous sick people. Modern liberalism is a mental disorder.
