It seems to me that obama is the ignorant one. they are not making fun of the idea that inflating tires, etc. would help, they are making fun of the idea that inflating tires is a replacement for producing more energy. its not.

Do a large portion of American drivers actually drive on under inflated tires? Every time I get my oil changed, they inflate my tires to the proper pressure. I've never driven on under-inflated tires more than a day. This Obama schmuck is out of touch with real America.

   We have a growing population.  Any conservation we accomplish today will be nullified tomorrow.  Suppose everybody inflates their tires to the correct pressure and gets a tune up, then what?   Every year there are more cars. We can't conserve our way out of this crisis.

Almost forgotten is that Obama also called for people to tune-up their cars.  Of course cars haven't needed tune-ups since 1985.

I don't know where they get the 800,000 barrels of oil a day figure for tires.  But I'm sure that the people willing to supply that nonsensical figure will also say that tuning up your car can save another million.

Barack won't let reality get in the way of his dreams. After the Ford SUV rollover, cars were equiped with low tire warning gauges.

Why dont we do a poll on how many folks here drive on under inflated tires? Lets see what the percentage of folks are doing so. I would be suprised if 5% were. That being the case, we could only save 5% of the 3% Obama claims. Which makes his statement ludicrous.

Barry, you made an unsupported and patently silly comment, and now you and the MSM are furiously tap dancing, trying to persuade the public that you didn't say what we all heard.  That won't work in this day and age.

Rush had an expert on his show Monday or Tues. his comments were if you drive 70-75 or are caught in a traffic jam the small amount saved is erased.

I loved his hit on the Ms Dictator but. He needed to ask her questions rather than state the republican position. Ms Wittless "what are the current figures regarding disparity between production and import? In a best possible scenario how many barrels/gallons could the public expect to save? According to me Obama me and my fellow rebulicans are ignorant, but it seem these numbers don't match? There seems to be a gigantic difference between these numbers, yes? Would you say they Mr Obama’s claim that inflating tires is going to solve ALL our oil dependencies needs seems childishly ignorant don’t you think?  Thank you Ms Wittless.  

How much energy is used to acheive the needed pressure in the compressor to fully inflate your tires? Or do we need to use a hand pump?
