CNBC’s Cramer Calls Liberal New York AG ‘Communist’

Leave it to resident CNBC loose cannon Jim Cramer to take it upon himself to call a spade a spade or a red a red.

Cramer, host of the CNBC’s “Mad Money” called liberal Democratic New York State Attorney General Andrew Cuomo as “communist” on CNBC’s November 7 “Street Signs.”

“[W]itness the fact that right now, the most important man in America for the stock market – the most important man and I mean it negatively is this guy Andrew Cuomo, the New York State Attorney General,” Cramer said. “I’m getting tired of the New York State Attorney General being the most important man in America.”

Then Cramer went into full-scale attack mode by comparing Cuomo to his politicized predecessor Eliot Spitzer. “Cuomo’s about confiscation – genuine communist,” Cramer said. “The Chinese are capitalists, we got a communist.”

Cuomo announced November 7 he was expanding his probe into the mortgage industry by sending subpoenas to Freddie Mac (NYSE:FRE) and Fannie Mae (NYSE:FNM) and urging them to conduct a total review of all Washington Mutual Inc. (NYSE:WM) appraisals and mortgages they purchased.

“Why doesn’t he just destroy any opportunity we have to move the $1.25 trillion in houses that are just sitting on the market right now?”

Cramer intensified his critique of the Cuomo by questioning his motivations for this expanded probe.

“Can I give you the real headline?” Cramer said. “Cuomo says let’s make it harder to get a mortgage, let’s make it harder to lend. Is that really the intent of this Democrat who wants to be president of the universe?”

Cramer referred to him as “General Cuomo,” and “Street Signs” host Erin Burnett said CNBC had offered him an invitation to appear on CNBC, but he has thus far not accepted.

“Oh, he’ll come on in a second. He’s worse than [Connecticut Attorney General Richard] Blumenthal,” Cramer said. “He’d walk a mile for a camera.”

Cramer is right

Cramer is right! As a former New Yorker under dad Mario, I know the Cuomos are socialist/communist in the truest sense. They are elitists who roll in ill-gotten personal affluence while closing down the free market and ignoring the will of the people. Cramer probably doesn't even know half the story when it comes to these pompous #$@% s.

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

He'd walk a mile for a

He'd walk a mile for a camera...

LMAO!

Cramer spoke volumes but is anybody really listening...especially in NY?

Isn't Cramer a Democrat?

Isn't Cramer a Democrat?

Nbb... I'm pretty sure he

Nbb...

I'm pretty sure he is...at least seems to be most of the time I have ever watched him, which is rare anymore.

I know he was opposite Kudlow when he was on Kudlow and Cramer, the only time I really watched him awhile back.

Here is a mumbled jumble of a link...I just glanced through it all, didn't see a bio there on much.

I read one of his books

I read one of his books recently. When relating his bio he mentioned how he hated the lefty professors he had in college. Maybe he is one of those old Democrats that haven't figured out that the extreme left wing of the party has taken over.

It's hard to believe Jim

It's hard to believe Jim Cramer is criticizing Cuomo because he is too left-wing(I wish).  Cramer and Eliot Spitzer were law school buddies.  And Spitzer's father got Cramer a good deal on an apartment in Manhattan in one of his buildings after he graduated(Spitzer lived next door).

Spitzer is angry that Cuomo issued a report that was critical of the Governor for using the State Police to follow Republican State Senate leader Joseph Bruno.  They were trying to catch Brumo misusing state resources for personal travel.  Cuomo could have issued a report that whitewashed the incident, but did not.  This has kept the issue alive and helped damage Spitzer's popularity in New York.

If Cramer is so worried about activist attorney generals, why didn't he criticize super-activist AG Eliot Spitzer during his tenure?  The anchoress asks Cramer this during his rant, but he does not respond.

nyt... Thank you for all

nyt...

Thank you for all of that...very very interesting, I did wonder why he never seemed to criticize Sptiz the little I have seen of him lately, now I know.

Exactly why I have always loved NBs you learn something or a lot every single time you are here.

You'd think that Cramer, on

You'd think that Cramer, on CNBC, is only being listened to by housewifes and stay-at-home types, but corporate America is hooking up to cable in the work place so that their employees can keep abreast of current events and business news.

Where I work we have TVs in our offices and one in each break room.  I keep mine tuned to CNBC or Bloomberg all day long.

Cramer has to be lauded for this "outburst" today as he must for a similar "outburst" toward Bernacke, our Fed Fund Chairman, to goad him into the first Federal Funds rate cut a month ago of 50 basis points.  His rant there and then numerous times on his own show may not have made Bernacke lower, but it sure didn't hurt.

Kudos to Cramer regardless of his political persuasion for that effort and this one. One can only hope that his rant today will get Cuomo to back off.

By the way, I listened to his show when I can, I DVR it, and it has helped me make some money this year.  For example, I bought Google when it was over 300 points lower than it is today!
