You know when the liberal host of MSNBC’s “Hardball,” Chris Matthews, paints a grim picture of a Hillary Clinton presidency for investors on a financial show, things must be pretty dismal. (See video here.)
“I know that most people are very fearful of Hillary being elected,” Jim Cramer said to Matthews on the October 29 “Mad Money.”
“Well, they ought to be fearful,” Matthews responded. “Democrats raise taxes and Hillary already said she's going to repeal the Bush tax cuts. The Republicans start this election with their hole card, the ace showing – they’re going to keep taxes lower. That’s always a big plus for Republicans.”
Matthews also compared politics to business, making the analogy that paying debts was what occurred when newly-elected Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) supported Rep. Jack Murtha’s (D-Pa.) failed attempt to win the House Majority Leader seat in January – conjuring up memories of Murtha being an unindicted co-conspirator in the “Abscam” investigation of the late 1970s and 1980.
“You have to understand how you got the job and you got to remember your supply line and one thing Pelosi does since her father was mayor of Baltimore all those years is remember your favors list. Those are the people who put you there and make sure they're paid off and kept happy. That's what she did when she took the side of Jack Murtha in that leadership fight earlier this year. Sure Murtha lost, but everybody saw Nancy being loyal.”

I wonder if maybe some on
October 30, 2007 - 15:24 ET by mattmI wonder if maybe some on the Left are getting fearful that Hillary might not be such a sure winner in the general election as she is portrayed to be, or if this is an example of a MSM attempt to steer a candidate into the "right" message...
That's what she did when

Chris, Chris, Chris, nice spin, but don't you know, Pelosi knew very well Murtha couldn't get the job in the first place and could have spared him the humiliation, she hung him out to dry to appease the ultra left, just like she, Dean and Reid had absolutely no intention of delivering on the Iraq pull out. It was all great theater. If you actually believe the Dem party was serious about their promises, you are really naive. As usual, they got the money and the votes and left you suckers standing there, and like the total rubes you are, then you bought the excuses of why they couldn't deliver. As PT Barnum said, "there's a sucker born every minute"
Murtha you see, violated the most sacred beliefs of the Dem Party, Abortion and Gun Control, Murtha is AGAINST BOTH! These are unforgiveable sins in their Party Platform. Note the positions of the Dem Majority Leader, Steny Hoyer are exactly the opposite of Murtha's, he supports Abortion and Gun Control and is FOR the GWOT including Iraq, he supported W for the invasion.

I have always felt that
October 30, 2007 - 16:02 ET by bigtimerI have always felt that Matthews is more of an Obama guy, just watching him for all the years I have I recall him not liking the Clinton duo much at all, in fact he was ferocious when it came to a lot of things during the scandalous eight years...that are still continuing to this day...
The dems don't have a viable candidate at this point IMO...they all can and will be beat...so far anyway.
Just my opinion at this time of the race...
Ever since the impeachment
October 30, 2007 - 17:04 ET by Chris NormanEver since the impeachment days, I remember Matthews has been openly hostile to the Clintons. Possibly, because he's an old line liberal who resents them as interlopers.
How about a story on the positive comments about Romney on this

Tonite, just before the debate, Matthews said "If Hillary
October 30, 2007 - 20:10 ET by RJdoesn't bring change to America, she doesn't deserve to be elected."
Strong stuff, Chrissy.
Opening question went to Obama, prodding him to attack Hillary.
Response from Hillary
Second question went to Edwards, prodding him to attack Hillary.
Response from Hillary.
Looks like tonight's pattern has been established.....
Hil sounds really shrill tonite.
October 30, 2007 - 20:16 ET by BlondeI wonder why the chat hasn't been turned on here.
Hillary is more grating than usual, IMO.
