Libtalker Mike Malloy Blames Family Research Council for Gunman Shooting at Them

By Jack Coleman | August 20, 2012 | 18:45

A  A

Predictably, left-wing radio talker Mike Malloy blames the Family Research Council for being targeted by a pro-gay rights activist who allegedly opened fire at their headquarters and wounded a security guard.

What is surprising about Malloy's rant, even to those of us familiar with this most vampiric of radio hosts, is its jaw-dropped toxicity -- an American version of Radio Rwanda, circa 1994. (Audio clip after page break) --

MALLOY: Ya filthy, filthy right-wing bastards! You're going too far! You really are going too far! One of these days somebody's going to go berserk and walk into one of your filthy holes of religious insanity with a gun! Oh, I think that happened today. ...

So this is what the fanatics -- these filthy, degenerate, gutter Christians are doing. They would happily sacrifice this 10-year-old child in order to save their goddamn fetus! ...

And that's the only thing that matters to this filthy, gutter, stinking, corpse-eating, filthy anti-abortion movement. I, I, I cannot come up with harsh enough or strong enough language about these, these, these scum. A 10-year-old. Goddamn you people. You have 10-year-old daughters, what would you do? What would you do?

How about you (FRC president) Tony Perkins, you got a 10-year-old daughter, you ever had one? Supposing your brother raped her and impregnated her and she was 10. What would you do, Tony Perkins?! You filthy swine. ...

This morning a guy walks into the Family Research Council headquarters in Washington, D.C., which is not about family, it's not about research. It is a council, it's a council of goddamn Christian corpse-eaters! You know, this has gotta be a conservative! Liberals hate guns! We hate 'em! So this had to be a conservative who walked in with a Sig Sauer, 9-mm. handgun, pulled it from his backpack!

Cursed right-wing fanatics, making people shoot at you! How dare you cause such bloodshed!

"Liberals hate guns!" Malloy insists. More accurately, they hate it when conservatives own guns, just as they hate when conservatives own more property than they do. Not incidentally, Malloy often boasts on air of that impressive arsenal he's been accumulating.

Malloy's ludicrous claim that the FRC gunman was a conservative is right up there with Slate magazine's David Greenberg asserting the same about the late Gore Vidal. Greenberg's claim was eviscerated by the National Review's Jonah Goldberg, who -- remarkably enough -- never once suggested that Greenberg should be shot for not sharing Goldberg's views.

Malloy is indeed entitled to his opinions, no less or more than I am. Just as the people who run Sirius Left, XM America Left, and the dozen-odd stations that also air Malloy's show might wonder if they are emboldening a man whose pathologies bubble so close to the surface.
