Geraldo Launches Radio Show Revisiting Death of bin Laden as 'Greatest Night of My Career!''
Debuting his first radio show yesterday on WABC in New York City, Geraldo Rivera reminisced about his storied career in media with guests including Donald Trump, former NYC mayor Ed Koch and Fox News colleague Mike Huckabee.
The show turned unintentionally hilarious when Rivera described how he begged Fox chief Roger Ailes to send him to Afghanistan as a war correspondent after 9/11, and Rivera's response to the stunning news last May that bin Laden was dead (audio) --
Ten years later I was blessed to be on the air live when word came that our SEALs had killed Osama bin Laden. (Audio played of Rivera announcing this on Fox). Bin Laden is dead. Bin Laden is dead. Confirmed, urgent confirmed, bin Laden is dead. Multiple sources, Osama bin Laden is dead. Happy days! Happy days everybody! This is the greatest, give me a wide shot of the general, this is the greatest night of my career!
There's history, and then there's its grandiose counterpart -- Geraldo history. Stay tuned for more adventures.
Rivera describes himself as a "radical centrist" -- "not red, not blue, but red white and blue" -- who voted for Obama in 2008 but remains undecided this time around.

the words right out of my mouth!! These blockheads have no idea how irrelevant they are. I work with folks in end stage dementia and Alzheimer's who utter more intelligent things than idiots like Jerry Rivers.

Geraldo actually blew it ... didn't he?

I was watching when Geraldo made the dramatic announcement and, as I recall, he blew it in substituting "Obama" instead of "Osama" in leading off the report.
He paused, looked to the side as if for help, as if thinking in disgust this couldn't be possible, could he take it back? ... but it was live, and then he went on.
At least that's the way I remember his big moment.
Or was I dreaming?
Can anyone else corroborate?
Sorry I can't help. I change channels when Geraldo...

There are two things that are absolute when it comes to Geraldo - it will be about death, and it will be about HIM!!! So there's no reason to watch or listen to anything after you see the subject matter.
But, I do have to give him props for at least one thing - he DID say that the SEALS killed bin Laden, and not Obama.

Even though he has spent months on the front lines, Geraldo is definitely not on our side. I believe he pretends to be a partriot so he can find fault with our military. I do not think that he thinks that killing bin Laden was a good thing. His loyalties are with our enemies.
He fully supported OWS. If you support the the occupy movement, then you are somewhere between incredibly stupid and just plain evil.
Geraldo was always a lib!

Even after 9/11-it wasnt til he needed a job, and Roger Ailes, his old boss, was running Fox, that took a last chance on him, and hes revitalized his career. But dont be fooled, hes still a pro-illegal alien and tax the rich for more social programs left-winged kinda guy. He cracked me up when he first was "deployed" to Afghanistan, and he started telling war stories, that he was part of the fighting, and he spotted Bin Laden, and went after him, and blah blah blah! More fables for him to spin to his latest child, of which he has quite a few baby mammas!

Publicity whore, extraordinaire.
Haven't watched any show on FNC since they fired Beck. Don't listen to WABC radio anymore either.
The level of intellectual dishonesty in all our media is just too over the top.
