Arianna Sees Obama Push for Infrastructure Jobs as 'All a Show'

By Jack Coleman | November 07, 2011 | 22:33

A  A

These things take time, especially when it comes to a politician initially touted as walking on water.

But it's finally happening with liberal media mogul Arianna Huffington -- a willingness to criticize the Obama administration's penchant for theatrics over substance. (video after page break)

Appearing in a panel discussion yesterday on "This Week," Huffington appeared to criticize House Speaker John Boehner for his alleged indifference to job creation -- followed by Huffington's unambiguous criticism of Obama for the same reason --

'THIS WEEK' HOST CHRISTIANE AMANPOUR: There's a bit of a, Arianna, a national sort of funk, isn't there, to Niall's (Ferguson) point?

HUFFINGTON: Well, I think what's happening is there's a sense of a bit of "Groundhog Day" feeling, that every Friday, the first Friday of each month, we get these jobs numbers and really nothing is fundamentally changing. And the most depressing thing is really what was in Ron Suskind's book ("Confidence Men"), of Paul Volcker quoting Larry Summers, saying that politicians when it comes to reform just want to be caught trying.

And you saw that in your interview with John Boehner. He's laminated proof of how he's trying to create jobs. You see the president in front of crumbling bridges that have been crumbling ever since he's been in the White House, but suddenly we're getting closer to 2012 so he wants to be seen to be trying to create infrastructure jobs. But it's all a show. And the American people sense it, that there is no real effort or will to create jobs, because there are many ideas out there about how it could be done, but it's not happening.

Boehner as "laminated proof" (huh?) aside, much distance here between Huffington and Limbaugh?

Uh hoh geez....

Submitted by NeoKong on Mon, 11/07/2011 - 10:43pm.

How can she even show her face and cry about jobs after stiffing all her contributors who worked for years for ZERO ZIP ZILCH and NADA on her website before she sold it for $300 million dollars.....?
She even recently wrote a book about how to succeed and find a job.
I wonder if she included a chapter about how to never ever try working for her.

If you listen very carefully...

...you can hear the sound of Hell freezing over.

Progressives seem to be completely averse to facts and logic. Apparently, reality has a conservative bias.

Jack, she said, "his laminated proof"

(this was referring to the card Boehner held up earlier listing the numerous jobs bills which have been passed by the House.)

On a related note, one of my teenage sons just read the following Onion article to me:

As far as I have been able to

Submitted by killa37 on Tue, 11/08/2011 - 1:37am.

As far as I have been able to tell, MOST of what Boy Barry does is just a 'show'.............and he is ALWAYS the center of attention, in his mind. This whole infrastructure thing is just part of his continuing efforts to make it appear as though he actually CARES about anything - when the only thing he CARES about is getting re-elected. If he had such a heat-on for fixing roads and bridges, I though he allready did that with the Porkulus Bill.........which created two zillion jobs and 'saved' a couple million more. Of course............he's only spent a minority of that 'bill'............so where's the rest of the money going, Barry??? And why do you want more???

We've even got some federally-funded road projects going on over here on my little island...........of course, I can't tell you whether they make any sense,or if they were well thought-out.............but I can tell you that somebody is getting paid, and in return, they are giving back a portion of the monopoly money to the REGIME.

please correct me if i am wrong. Did Andrew Breitbart start her website for her under the guise she was a conservative and than she flip-flopped over and went to where the money and airtime was most in the libs favor? .... I am sure i read that in his book he released. So she is a phony that deserves no airtime whatsoever. - this HACK has NO credibility.

She's a poster child for the Top 1%

Submitted by Galvanic on Tue, 11/08/2011 - 9:57am.

Here's a woman who married into a fortune, got $ millions in the divorce settlement, and stiffed the contributors to her multi-million dollar enterprise.

She is the very kind of person that OWS is targeting, and she knows it.

But I'll give her credit for describing Obama's current campaign tour as nothing but show, which it is.

"Showtime" would be a great name for Obama

Submitted by OxyCon on Tue, 11/08/2011 - 1:21pm.

The guy's a fraud, created through marketing manipulation by David Axlefraud, and even he knows it when he candidly says things like "I can PLAY at this GAME" and "I'm LeBron, Baby" and "I believe my own bullsh*t".

There should seriously be an attempt to permanently tag him as "Showtime" so that it sticks with him throughout his lifetime and throughout history. He's all about putting on a show and manipulating people people through theatrics.

desperately trying ...

Submitted by wizardjr on Tue, 11/08/2011 - 1:39pm.

Her idiot 'media' empire is sinking into the sunset so she's trying to get someone, anyone, to read/listen to her trash so she posts actual truthful news (for once). What's the over/under on how many months until the next truthful post?
