Conan Repeats False HuffPo Claim That Fox Business’s Bolling Called Muppets ‘Communist’
A false Huffington Post claim that Fox Business Network’s Eric Bolling called the Muppets “communist” quickly spread to other news and entertainment outlets on Dec. 5. A segment on the latest Muppet villain, oil tycoon Tex Richman, was quickly twisted by the left into an attack on Fox and showed where news organizations and comedy shows get their information.
In the movie, the Muppets are out to save their studio and prevent Richman from destroying it to drill for oil. “Follow the Money” host Bolling said at the end of his segment, “We’re teaching our kids class warfare. What are we, communist China?” Apparently this expression of exasperation caused HuffPo to say he went “McCarthy” on the movie.
Conan claimed that Bolling called the Muppets communist, “That’s what he said about the new Muppet movie. Left-wing communist propaganda.” Not exactly, Conan, he just said liberals are trying to brainwash children against capitalism. The liberal elites in Hollywood make the rich oil man a sinister capitalist and happily portray the rich as evil.
Other news outlets jumped on the story that the Muppets are communist and went after Fox Business making this claim. The Washington Post picked up on the story and wrote an article about “communist Muppet brainwashing” without actually looking at the facts.
The Guardian, along with Slate, Hollywood Reporter, and other outlets continued the discussion of communist Muppets. Jon Stewart even included in his Moment of Zen Andrea Tantaros of Fox Business discussion of the Muppets later in the same segment.
In the original segment, Media Research Center Vice President Dan Gainor said that the spin of the Muppet movie wasn’t unusual for Hollywood. “They've been doing it for decades. Hollywood, the left, the media, they hate the oil industry,” he said.” “They hate corporate America. And so you'll see all these movies attacking it, whether it was 'Cars 2,' which was another kids' movie, the George Clooney movie 'Syriana,' 'There Will Be Blood,' all these movies attacking the oil industry, none of them reminding people what oil means for most people: fuel to light a hospital, heat your home, fuel an ambulance to get you to the hospital if you need that. And they don't want to tell that story.”

By 'McCarthy' do you mean the exposure of documented threats to America's national security via Communist infiltration of the U.S. government 'McCarthy', or the vehement and present to this day, despite vindicating information declassified over 16 years ago, character assassination of the man devoted to the exposure of documented threats to America's national security via Communist infiltration of the U.S. government, 'McCarthy'?
M. Stanton Evans' book is 5 years old as of 11/6/11. If you haven't read it I'd highly recommend it. History should be rewritten to recognize Sen. Joseph R. McCarthy as an American hero.

not often, but on nearly 100% of all accounts according to a declassified in 1995 Army project, called the Venona Project, that decoded Soviet cables to and from spies in the U.S. He had substantial evidence on all of his list members and he was vilified for exposing a know infiltration as high up as Undersecretary. of U.S. Department of State Acheson and factual misrepresentations of, wait for it, the media. Shocking, I know. I believe this is the era where the MSM began the legend it has become today.

I highly recommend it. It's not the easiest read, but you won't be able to put it down. It's over 600 pages and I burned through it in two weekends. You will be outraged and wonder how the hell we ever won the cold war. I thank god for Ronald Reagan every day.

It's obvious where the writers are coming from. They can only live off of past glories from others as they have nothing new or original to offer. And I am not a muppet or star wars fan. I don't know the extent of Conan's politics but I though that skit was very funny.

When Bolling says "We're teaching our kids class warfare. What are we, communist China?" he's drawing an analogy. We are acting like communist China, which would make the muppets the communist propaganda that China uses to teach their kids about class warfare.
How is it misleading to say that that is calling the muppets communist propaganda? What else could he be saying? The muppets aren't at all like communist propaganda but there are other unrelated ways in which we teach our kids about class warfare just like the Chinese, I just happened to think of those things while talking about the muppets? That doesn't make any sense.

Hollywood hates oil companies, the rich (Apparently no one in Hollywood owns a mirror), anyone looking to be a successful businessman,.. all are portrayed as evil selfish monsters who'd boil pets if they could make a profit from it.
That Hollywood is nothing if not money grubbing after the lowest commen denominater film dollar available, seems lost on them,... or that if they got their wish and money were all siezed and redistributed,.. why would they think they would get an exception?
The first ones shot after every revolution, are the most rabid revolutionaries.
Stalin cleaned house pretty quickly to disgard professional malcontents.. and none of that sinks in the leftwing fever swamp in Hollywood. Sure it's just a kid movie, and Das Juden was just a movie about hating rats... both sent a crystal clear message, "hate these people".... That the nazi's acted on their baser hatreds,. and these kid films have no apparently current harm,... well,.. let's just pile on a decade or two of these films,..
