"Part of the reason you guys are on there, you're like America's water cooler. People come around, they listen to you. You start, you're like the angels of democracy. You start people talking about the things that are most important in society."
Things like sex, porn and sex toys, sex ed for five-year-olds, and more sex? Or maybe its bashing the Catholic Church, hypocritically defending Barack Obama or sniffing at religious Christmas cards?
The magazine hit news stands on April 30. People including Barack and Michelle Obama, Sarah Palin, and Zac Effron made the list. Each "winner," as Stengel referred to them, has their impact written by "somebody famous." New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg wrote the article on the ladies of the show.
Now that they made the list, the leftist hosts of The View, along with Elizabeth Hasselbeck's sole dissenting voice of the five, will be able to nominate influential people for next year's top 100 edition.

My three dogs veto that idea
May 1, 2009 - 07:53 ET by Ole_SargeMy dogs said that to refer the "View" harpies as canines gives canines, espeically "breeding canines" a bad name, Although they did agree "cat-fight" was an acceptable term for what happens on the show.
I "used to" watch, key word, is past tense. I stopped on September 12th, and only catch bits and pieces of the outrage on blogs.
Don't miss it either.

April 30, 2009 - 17:21 ET by jdhawkI guess it is time to reminisce about the "View." So, I guess my most vivid memory, as recounted on this blog, was when the head "View" person told us about, well how she had been giving head to anyone that could get her a head in the broadcasting business. And, it now she seems to have become one . . . a head . . . that is . . .

April 30, 2009 - 19:08 ET by Georgia GirlAbsolutely. Don't underestimate the value of your cancellation. Here is the scoop on our newspaper cancellation that made it is especially sweet, and it taught me a lesson...
We had been dealing with getting USA Today because it was a quick read and we liked the medical updates (which we now easily find online). Anyway, we were still getting the paper up until the day after the election of "The One," but we were so sick of the pages splattered with complete bias against Bush, pro-Obama (the news sections, not just the editorials). It had been like that for a long time, but it had gotten progressively worse. If USA Today can find anyway to spin it to the left, they do. Well, after both of us being so bummed out after Obama was elected, we realized we could not take another day of seeing Obama on the front page of USA Today, with more "fantabulous" news about him. Why were we doing this to ourselves? We didn't have to read this newspaper every day. So the next day, we called to cancel...and found out something fairly interesting.
The USA Today rep really tried to get us to change our minds. He grilled us on why we were cancelling, after we had gotten the paper for so many years. We were polite, but we told him exactly why were were cancelling -- that were taking a stand, and this was the small way we could do it. The rep told us: "This has been happening all day -- people calling in to cancel the newspaper." We were surprised that so many others were doing the same thing (kind of cheered me up). So everybody can make a difference, even if it seems small.
We could have kicked ourselves we kept USA Today as long as we did. They still call us every few months, trying to get us to "come back." No way, USA Today -- my blood pressure is much lower, thanks. ;)

April 30, 2009 - 19:19 ET by bigtimerEvening GG and Cape...
Now that is interesting, I have heard others say this now and again here and there, so you can't tell me that behind the scenes they all know why they are losing business/$$$ etc...but the spokesmen for these entities all avoid saying the reason why, that the bias is rampant, people are telling them that....yet they keep doing the same thing....eating their own pages.
Unbelievable they keep doing this...really is.
Agenda is going to sink them all...bail-out or not, they are going to die at their own hands.

Two points.
1. It's DAYTIME SHOW. The mainly women who watch it are at home. They do not gather around the water cooler at work.
But even if they did...
2. how many people actually watch The View
Well according to Nielsen..
The show drew in 4.42 million viewers for the week of February 2, 2009.
That's 884,000 viewers per DAY! My -- how unimpressive is THAT.
Less than those watching Scooby Doo.

Watching the clip of old lady Walters telling 'the one' how sexy he was should go down in history as one of the crudest television minutes ever to go out to the public! However, considering the source does explain a lot - it seems ladies not only 'kiss and tell' now, they BRAG about having affairs with married men!
