Actor Compares Pro-Navy SEAL Movie 'Act of Valor' to Hitler Propaganda Film
Star of TV’s Parenthood, Dax Shepard, compared the pro-U.S. military film that stars actual Navy SEALs, Act of Valor to Adolf Hitler's Triumph of the Will. On his Twitter feed the one time Ashton Kutcher prank boy from Punk'd wrote: "Saw 'Triumph of the Will' tonight, oh wait, I mean 'Act of Valor' great action." Apparently the reaction to Shepard's obnoxious tweet, comparing this week's #1 movie starring active duty Navy Seals to a Nazi propaganda movie was immediate, as he attempted to walk back his comments.
Shepard lamely claimed he was: "not comparing our military to nazis. Pointing out the exceedingly high level of propaganda in both."
The following is a screen grab of the relevant portion of Shepard's Twitter timeline from February 27, 2012:

BTW. I saw Act of Valor this weekend and it was great. They aren't actors, for sure , but they sounded like real people for a change. It did seem like a commercial for all the new toys we have. I was glad we have them. I don't ever want us going into a fair fight with bad guys. The sooner the bad guys give up the fewer lives are lost...on both sides.

and one of the most worthwhile ever to watch.
With this tweet, Dax a) proves he's an idiot with extremely poor judgment, and b) undermines his excellent TV show.
We also now know that Dax is a blithering liberal idiot, which is more than I wanted to know about "the Real Crosby". Of course, on the show he plays an immature dad, with a recent history as an irresponsible womanizer, who fathered a child out of wedlock, and didn't even know he was a father until years after the fact. On the verge of reuniting with and marrying his young son's mother, he has a one night stand which causes a breakup with mommy, and additionally causes his brother to lose his son's terrific Asberger's therapist. So apparently, Crosby, like Dax, is also an irresponsible liberal. Of course, Parenthood takes place outside of Berkely CA, so being a touched in the head liberal makes sense.
Way to go Dax - compare the US Navy Seals to the SS. Hopefully Dax will soon be advised to submit to screening his tweets thru his publicist, a la' Ashton "I didn't know Jo Pa failed to report child-rape" Kutcher.

He shot off his mouth in the usual anti-American way popular among leftists and expected a Greek chorus among his Twitter syncophants to praise him. It didn't. And as for SEAL's propaganda "bosses," there aren't any; SEALs are a team and they are all volunteers. They follow orders, they do the job, and they have corpsmen to patch them up if they can be patched up. It's called sacrifice and is very much related to a belief in and love for this country. I have a feeling this clown knows nothing of that. (And by the way, Dax, it's pronounced "CORE-man," not "CORPSE-man," in case you've been listening to the wrong propagandist.)
Thanks for making that point

As a recently retired corpsman, it has irked me to no end that the Commander-In-Chief cannot get that right, not once, but on two separate occasions.
And to the original point of this article, Hollywood dweebs should just keep their mouths shut before commenting about the military, none of it sounds genuine when they're trying to complement us anyway. They don't get us or understand why we serve. I'm listening to the same kind of liberal crap right now in school and it's difficult to keep my cool.

I could see the humor in it. Not that he couldn't pronounce a word anyone who had spent any time in the military would have heard many times but that he is the CiC and didn't know...and wasn't corrected. He either didn't care or is surrounded by those who don't know either.
Also was NOT surprised by the non-coverage it got in the sycophantic media. They still chuckle at Quayle's misspelling of potato at a spelling bee. (even though it was misspelled on his master list )

You know, I've seen several of his movies(some not to completion) and the one that sticks out the most that describes his actual personality is Idiocracy(funny how that movie comes up in comparison to real life these days) that he played a character in. Only now that I think about it after his moronic statements(and his squeeze ought to be right embarrassed if she has any scruples, who is Kristin Bell btw), he wasn't playing a character in it, he was IN character as himself.
These actors better stop making things kinds of statements if they want fans to keep watching their movies and shows. I've already written a lot of them off my list and this is one that I'll be sure not to watch unless he's a minor character that gets killed off in the movie like SLJackson. Then I'll be happy to watch...depending on what it is.
As to the Hitlerian reference, I think we are seeing signs of that with the Dem Governors getting together with Our Lord and Savior the Merciful DuhOne to circumvent the elections. Reminds me of when Governor Tarkin gave the news about the Imperial Senate being dissolved and the Governors taking over in their own systems to use a Star Wars analogy....or when Chancellor Hitler took over by his similar actions for those more familiar with History.

Acts of Valor vs. the Critics
“Valor” is defined by Merriam-Webster as “strength of mind or spirit that enables a person to encounter danger with firmness : personal bravery.” The only real issue concerning the just-released war film, “Act of Valor,” is that it is mistitled since it depicts not just one but multiple instances of amazing personal bravery.
I wouldn’t dare suggest movie critics don’t respect the courage of our military and, especially, among the Navy’s SEALS. At least none of the critics have said that–although most of them find fault with virtually everything else in the movie. Then, too, how could they criticize or say they abhor the military without sacrificing the illusion of their objectivity.
For a brief synopsis and trailers, see http://bit.ly/roegRu.
The chief critical objections to “Act of Valor” is that the principal characters are wooden and that the plot is contrived.
The former charge is somewhat true due to the fact that the protagonists are active duty SEALS and not professional actors, though we’ve all sat through stinko acting by pros. The contention that the story is unreal is more a reflection of critical biases than of actuality.
The narrative is complex, taking the viewer all over the globe and filled with unrelenting, ultra-violent action but I suspect left-leaning movie critics were far more exercised over the film’s themes than its plot.
Those themes incorporated not just military bravery but the reality of war, the essence of patriotism, the principle of idealism, and even a recogntion of God, none of which are favorite themes of America’s Left. . . (Read more at http://www.genelalor.com/blog1/?p=14853.)

Submitted by Galvanic on Tue, 02/28/2012 - 2:02pm.
. . . fair game.
But of course, the critics are grading the film from a template that they themselves have derived from other Hollywood war films written and acted (for the most part) by people who have never seen military operations (let alone war) personally and up close. It's not the film they would've made, so it's not likely to get positive reviews.
It might surprise them to learn that real Navy SEALs do not behave like Charlie Sheen or Arnold Schwarzenegger. They are likely behaving more like they actually do. So, which is the more realistic portrayal?
I have not seen the film myself, though I intend to. Having observed actual SEALs in training (but not on the battlefield), I look forward to being able to draw a comparison.
