Self-Righteous Miley Cyrus Bashes Rick Santorum

Pop star Miley Cyrus got on her high horse, via Twitter, to paint former Pennsylvania senator and current GOP presidential contender Rick Santorum as a bigot for his stance on same-sex marriage. As reported by the Politico, the singer/actress was so upset that Urban Outfitters had contributed to Santorum she took to Twitter, last Thursday, to preach to her fans that every time they made a purchase from the clothing retailer they were helping to "finance a campaign against gay equality."

The former star of Disney's hit kid show, Hannah Montana, who was already annoyed that the company had allegedly stolen jewelry designs, added the Santorum donation to her list of personal grievances against Urban Outfitters, as seen in the following May 26 tweet:

"IF WE ALLOW GAY MARRIAGE NEXT THING U KNOW PEOPLE WILL BE MARRYING GOLD FISH" - Rick Santorum UO contributed $13,000 to this mans campaign."

It's hip to be over-supportive of the lavender mafia - all non-discriminatory dontcha know. The only down side is that thousands of little girls with no life of their own wait for some icon to tell them what to think and do so they'll be "accepted". *yawn*

"She's just another manufactured teen sensation...."

I wonder how famous and/or successful she'd be had it not been for the Disney Channel virtually creating her out of nothing? Her entire career was built on the "Hannah Montana" franchise. Without that major boost would her "talents" alone have carried her this far?

But beyond that, who gives a flying fire truck what this little twit thinks? But then again, who gives a flying fire truck what I think?

He's pretty unhappy right now. A coterie of agents and such have walled her off from access to him. Whether this is her design, or she's too high/drunk to know, I'm not sure. However, it is a tragedy and yet, it's not the first time that success has led to the gutter. Hollywood and the music industry do everything they can to shut up the stars of yesteryear -- the ones that are still breathing and thinking, that is.

Looks like another sign that

Submitted by Slyrr on Tue, 05/31/2011 - 6:36pm.

Looks like another sign that her career is on the skids.
Sure she's made her pile, but most celebrities measure their self-worth by how often and how many times they appear on camera, or on concerts or wherever.

And ol' Hanna has been off the radar for a year or so, in terms of hollywood fame. She's had a few specials here and there, but she hasn't been nearly the on-screen person she used to be. And that means she may as well be last year's i-Phone. Obsolete - unwanted - yesterday's news. A one-trick pony. Whatever turn of phrase for 'washed up has-been' you want to use.

But dying fad starlets who see themselves being herded out to pasture know exactly what to do to keep clawing at the gate for a few desperate seconds longer. Become an 'activist'. Usually it's 'environmentalism', and ol' Miley's probably one of those too. But it's become 'hip' in Hollywood to be pro-gay, so it looks like she's leeched onto this as her cause du-jour in her bid to keep herself from being dumped into the ash-heap of D-list celebrities.

She should just go join 'The View' with all the other has-beens, where she can spout outrageous bilge all day long to a captive audience that's been bribed to applaud at every full stop.

If a Liberal/Democrat politician/media figure wants to put their arms around you, or pat you on the back, all they're doing is looking for a good place to stick a knife.

Urban Outfitters contributed

Urban Outfitters contributed to Santorum? Wha?

Was it some employees at UO or a PAC? Was he one of several candidates they contributed to, to buy influence, or the only one?

And actually I think the quote she attributes to Santorum was made by Pat Robertson. But I don't know anyway, social conservatives are all alike. :)

Submitted by Beukeboom on Thu, 06/02/2011 - 10:46am.

She's not all that good of a singer. It's amazing what they can do in the studio. Apparently she lip synched to her many of her "live" shows and from what I read of the times she actually did sing live and without effects she didn't do a good job (at least one source linked to a YouTube video of an actual live performance). That combined with the fact that she's not developed as an actress leads me to believe that her career is close to going into obscurity mode. it would behoove her to take whatever money she may have and enroll in college but frankly I don't have confidence that she is intelligent enough to actually make it through college and receive a legitimate degree.

Hamma Montana

Submitted by Less1leg on Thu, 06/02/2011 - 3:15am.

Her Disney gig is over, and her memory of her fledgling career is pretty well over too. You will probably see her headline a show at some Indian Reserve. Nobody will remember Miley in let's say five years. Does anybody remember the Jonas Brothers? Their Great Big Gig in the Sky died some time ago too. Again Disney milked them for as long as they could. Smart Disney aren't they. Sign up these one-hit wonders for three years then kick them to the curb. If you get them noticed in the first year, the show is a go. Make big profits on year two, and keep them around for year three, with sell, sell, sell. Then a TV Special, or like the Jonas Brothers, Camp Rock, and out you go.
Miley, a sizable number of people outside of Hollywood, and liberal groups have expressed that Gay Marriage is a no. Civil Unions were modestly acceptable, but introduce the term marriage into the mix, NO.
Its only liberal court judges who go against the will of the people and upsurp the vote. But currently the majority of North Americans are against Gay Marriage.

And as Walter Cronkite would say, "And that's the way it is. Good nite".
