Chris Matthews, on Monday's "Hardball," mocked Florida GOP Senate candidate Marco Rubio for pondering, on his Twitter page, that the "situation in Iran would be a little different if they had a 2nd Amendment like ours." Matthews, completely missing the point that our Founding Fathers understood that it is much harder to repress a free people that is armed, derided Rubio in the "Sideshow" portion of his June 22 show:

How people are getting beaten, getting hit with tear gas, getting shot. it's insane to think that having thousands of people marching against each other will lead to no violence.
i understand your argument of giving the people a fighting chance, but in this situation, its not only the government vs the people.

Matthews is mentally

The Iranians had their privately owned guns taken away decades ago, under Shah Pavlavi. They are not used to having guns in their homes for use for any reason. The same is true of England, Australia and other country's where gun ownership has been either banned or restricted. Matthews falls into this catagory. He's not been around guns, he didn't grow up with guns in his home, he only knows what has been fed to him by schools and our lousy media.
Those of us that were raised around guns, used guns for legal purposes, and are aware of what our founding fathers meant when they wrote the 2nd have no fear of guns. We respect our weapons for the tools that they are, much like a hammer or a screw driver. Matthews in his nieve beliefs automatically assumes weapons are always bad, all the time, unless they are owned by a government entity. There is no helping Matthews at this point. He will never learn nor appreciate what we know to be true. I hope the Iranians find a way to defeat these mullahs and they are replaced with a true representative government. We'll see.
