It seems that Mr. Tingle is a master of the ad-hominem attack. He seems like a downright nasty and angry man.  His side won and he is still angry.

I'd rather spend an evening with Limbaugh or Cheney than Matthews..

   Too bad Republicans are so mature and fair.  Otherwise we could welcome this nominee with the full Sarah Palin treatment, send teams of lawyers to probe into every facet of her past and go interview everyone she has ever known to see if maybe they have something negative to say about her.

Brings to mind my alternate tag line:

I was just in the car and heard Sean Hannity reference this article by Jeffrey Rosen at TNR...not exactly a bastion of conservatism, so I looked it up.

The Case Against Sotomayor

A couple of tidbits:

Over the past few weeks, [after reporting that Sotomayor's own law clerks spoke very highly of her]I've been talking to a range of people who
have worked with her, nearly all of them former law clerks for other
judges on the Second Circuit or former federal prosecutors in New York..[   ] ...Most of them Democrats..... but nearly none of them
raved about her. They expressed questions about her temperament, her
judicial craftsmanship, and most of all, her ability to provide an
intellectual counterweight to the conservative justices, as well as a
clear liberal alternative.

The most consistent concern was that Sotomayor, although an able
lawyer, was "not that smart and kind of a bully on the bench," as one
former Second Circuit clerk for another judge put it. "She has an
inflated opinion of herself, and is domineering during oral arguments,
but her questions aren't penetrating and don't get to the heart of the
issue."

Chris Matthews made clear on Morning Joe that he was going to try to make this president a success.  He has no integrity.

Did Bush "wow" Matthews when he nominated John Roberts?  How about when he nominated Samuel Alito?  Uhh, yea I didn't think so.

Should someone who applies the law, taking into consideration a person's standing, be seen as someone of "wow" stature?  No.  And when we're talking Supreme Court level, the "no" is magnified 100 times.

Supreme Court justice is not a difficult job for a legal thinker who understands the Constitution.  The Constitution was a painstakingly designed document, with much sweat and tears and deep thought put into it as a document to empower people and dispower the federal government.  It was a very complex process to create it, yet it's one of the simplest documents imaginable to be the TOP document in our government, to which every idea for any must directly or indirectly consult.  Law.......not empathy....not malice.......LAW!

Any why would nominating anyone who would not view the Constitution as the supreme document of our nation, be considered "wowing" anyone?  How would picking someone based on their race and/or gender, not top credentials, be considered "wowing?"  It's not wowing at all, it's blatantly crapping on the United States.

Chrissy:  The Cheneys, the Newt Gingriches, the Rush Limbaughs. Here, I've noticed in all the criticism today -- I'm sure you've gone through it -- the only critics of this nomination with any kind of violence are that R.N.C crowd: Rush, Newt and Limbaugh, I mean and, and, and, and Cheney. It just seems like you guys are brilliant at picking fights with people that don't matter, that aren't in government, aren't in the Senate, aren't in the Congress. 

Chrissy, those "crazies" are the ones who matter most, because they aren't shy about opposing an openly liberal and obviously racist candidate.  And you prove that they are the ones that matter by mentioning them again and again and again.

It'll take the GOP rank and file getting riled up for there to be any hope of stopping this nominee, and even then the odds are very long.  But if it happens, the "crazies" will have a lot to do with getting it done.

When you put the clowns in charge, don't be surprised when a circus breaks out.

Pretty wild that Chrissy skipped any comparisons to Carter the First and Slick Willy and went straight to Reagan?

Actually, I'd go back to Tammany Hall.

One of the 34% who thinks George W. Bush was a great President. One of the 61% who wants to bring back the stock and pillory (yep...approval for Congress now at 39%...do you believe that!?).

 A liberal moron and his brain are soon parted.

When will Chris Matthews come out of the closet, announce his man love for Obama and make an offer to publicly fellate the President of the United States? It can only be a matter of time.
