Acting like Caroline Kennedy's PR flack NBC's Andrea Mitchell, on Monday's "Today" show, first delivered the news that the Kennedy family was "furious," at the way her Senate bid was treated by New York Governor David Paterson, but then she quickly merged her own personal opinion into the story, calling the smearing of the former First Daughter, "inexcusable." Curiously Mitchell never revealed to viewers, what specifically Paterson or those close to Paterson had said of Kennedy, only vaguely mentioning "they went after her on personal issues."
The following exchange occurred on the January 26, edition of the "Today" show:
MATT LAUER: While Caroline Kennedy's Senate bid crashed and burned some Democrats are burning at the way New York's governor handled the whole affair. NBC's Andrea Mitchell is in Washington. Andrea, good morning to you.
ANDREA MITCHELL: Good morning.
LAUER: And we're basically talking about three dynasties here. And let's start with the first one. The Kennedys. How did they come out of this whole thing?
MITCHELL: They are furious, Matt. They are furious because basically people close to the governor are believed to have trashed Caroline Kennedy's reputation, even after she withdrew. And there's no excuse for that at all. There's no excuse in any case. But the fact that they went after her on personal issues and put it all out there for the tabloid press after she had withdrawn - inexcusable.

How true
January 26, 2009 - 19:36 ET by GalvanicIt is interesting to see these kind of splits in the DP, though.
While the NY-Washington-Hollywood Democratic elite (including the senior MSM correspondents and pundits like Chris "The Tingler" Matthews) embellished Princess Caroline's resume as they shamelessly promoted her clumsy bid for the NY Senate seat, the Dem 'outsiders' including Gov. Patterson were irritated by her presumption of entitlement. Afterall, he is the governor and the selection was up to him, but the Kennedys and their Camelotian-wanna-bees went full-throttle with a media blitz as if Patterson couldn't buck their will. Well, he did, and now the elite is pee-oh'ed.

Good luck, Governor! Keep your powder dry.

Hey Andrea..... Get Over It !
January 26, 2009 - 22:08 ET by Morgan StevensOh boo hoo .....poor little Andrea (Hatchet Face) Mitchell is all upset that the Kennedy's are furious because Caroline wasn't made a Senator. I guess according to Mitchell,we are all supposed to feel sorry for the 'Camelot Clan' cause they didn't get what they wanted.... namely another chance to promilgate their name in perputity by having Ms. You Know appointed to the Senate, from which she could make an eventual run for the White House in 2012. It's about time somebody stood up to that Irish Mob and told them they can't always get what they want, simply because of their last name. While we're on the subject, wasn't it Daddy Jack who was on drugs for most of his administration (especially during the Cuban Missile Crisis) and wasn't it Uncle Bobby who couldn't keep his hands off of MarlyinMonroe (after Jack had his roll in the hey with her) and arguably had something to due with her death, and wiretapped Martlin Luther King all the while proclaiming to be a champion of civil rights? And wasn't it Uncle Teddy who got away with murder ? And wasn't it Cousin Joe who drove drunk and flipped a jeep over on his female passenger making her a quadraplegic ? And wasn't it Cousin Robert who was picked up for transporting heroin on across state lines (on an airplane in 1979 or 1980) ? And wasn't it Cousin Patrick who got half a bag on and drove around Washington and hit a telephone poll all the while claiming he was on his way to vote on Captiol Hill (of course at 2:00 AM)? And how can we forget good ol' Grandpa Joe who couldn't keep his mitts off of Gloria Swanson, thought Hitler was an okay guy,was a bootlegger, associated with known gangsters and made seceret deals with 'Mr. Mooney' and 'King Richard' in Chicago to make sure that Jackie boy got elected in 1960 ? Thank goodness Governor Paterson had the 'stones' to stand up to the 'Camelot Clan' and tell them in so many words to go take a long walk off a short pier. Ah yes, the Kennedy's they're just American Royality aren't they ? Hey Andrea, get over it, you Kennedy sychophant.
