Appearing in the timeslot of the fourth hour of Tuesday's "Today" show that Ann Coulter was originally booked to appear on, celebrity blogger/author Perez Hilton addressed the Coulter bumping controversy directly, as he challenged the conservative author: "Ann Coulter, if you’re watching, bite me!"
"Today" co-hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb then acknowledged that Coulter was, in fact, scheduled to promote her book at that time but may be invited back on Wednesday's show. Gifford expressed disappointment that Coulter and Hilton weren't on together, saying it would have been "good television," which prompted Hilton to respond: "She's not very friendly with the gays...but that's okay I'm friendly with everyone." However Hilton then went on to brag, "I'll talk trash about her, to her face...I'm not a fan of anyone trying to deny me my rights."
The following exchange aired during the fourth hour of the January 6, "Today" show:

Think back to high school.
The daily announcements on the P.A. were kind of like how the MSM should be. Kind of boring, but they tell you all you need to know for the day. That's kind of why they are there in the first place.
The opinion commentators and, to some extent, Internet sites like this are like the notes or conversations passed between students. They offer opinions on those announcements as well as basic gossip about the student population (Dear lord! We gotta have meatloaf again, why does the pep rally center around the quarter-back when the defensive line is much more co-ordinated?) You know, basic interaction of differing opinions about serious topics.
People like this "Perez Hilton" are like the writing on the bathroom walls. Always good for a laugh or chuckle, but you still feel the need to wash your hands afterward. Even if you weren't exactly a fan of the person mentioned. Still, we all read them to some extent or another back then, and we'd be lying if we said we didn't laugh at times when we did so. Just so long as we don't take people like him too seriously. Nothing wrong with laughing when you feel the desire to do so.
