Sounding like a voice-over on a movie trailer for an upcoming action blockbuster starring Barack Obama, Chris Matthews greeted viewers, on Thursday's "Hardball," with this exclamation: "The excitement begins! Barack Obama makes his first major appointments." Matthews then continued his giddiness, a little later in the show, when he raised up an electoral map, published in the New York Times, that featured a "sea of blue" for Obama and hailed: "This is maybe the best map ever seen!"
The following exchanges occurred on the November 6, "Hardball":
CHRIS MATTHEWS OPENING SHOW: The excitement begins! Barack Obama makes his first major appointments. Let's play "Hardball!" Good evening, I'm Chris Matthews, welcome to "Hardball." Leading off tonight, reconstruction. President-Elect Obama -- first time I ever said that -- is moving fast to build his team to rebuild a national consensus for action.
...
MATTHEWS HOLDING UP MAP: Let me show you a map that's one of the, I know we've shown a lot of maps. And Chuck [Todd] and his colleagues have shown a lot of great maps.
HOWARD FINEMAN, NEWSWEEK: That's a good one.
Story Continues Below Ad ↓MATTHEWS: This is maybe the best map ever seen! If you look at this map, let me hold it up higher. There it is, electronically. Hold that sign up there a bit. This is not a state of where people voted, Mayor [Willie] Brown, this is, this is map that tells you where people voted more for Barack Obama than they did for the Democratic candidate, last time. Everything blue there. That whole sea of blue across the country, with the exception of the mountain areas of Appalachia and the Ozarks, basically down there in that sort of crescent in the middle right there. All voted more for Barack than they did for John Kerry, four years ago.
So you see an amazing sweep toward Barack in the country. Mayor Brown this is amazing! I'm looking at the entire Northwest, entire Midwest, the Big 10 teams, by the way. Every state which there is a Big 10 team all went for Barack Obama. The entire Northeast. The coastal areas of, of, of, the Atlantic coast. All along the coast. In fact all along the Texas coast where Texas either touches Mexico or goes to the, to the Gulf of Mexico. All that. All California, up and down California, up and down Washington, Oregon. Everywhere went more for Barack than it did for John Kerry. What do ya think?

I see you have bought into the lie that under the Clinton years we have peace and prosperity.
I guess you weren't around in 1993 when under the Clinton administration the WTC were bombed with the intention of bringing them down, right? I guess your forgot that.
I guess you missed it too when American troops were attacked in Saudi Arabia by terrorists, right?
I guess you also missed it when terrorists bombed two American embassies in Africa.
I guesss you also missed it when the USS Cole was attacked.
I guess you missed it when Al Qaeda declared war on the USA in the 1990s during the Clinton administration.
I guess you missed the war in Kosovo.

I guess since you didn't hear it in the news it didn't happen, but why don't you go check out and compare the salaries that people that voted made in 2004 and compare them to the people that voted this time around. you will find that the salaries went up, that people making over 200,000 doubled.

Really? I guess Josh didn't see this report:
terrorism fatalities were down by some 40 percent in late 2006
compared to 2001, and according to preliminary data, dropped even
further in mid-2007.The study pointed to more widespread and
coordinated counterterrorism efforts, "bitter doctrinal infighting"
within the global Islamist networks, and Muslims' rejection of
terrorists' "indiscriminate violence, extremist ideology and harshly
repressive policies" for the downswing. As well, it specifically
acknowledged a "dramatic collapse in popular support throughout the
Muslim world" for Osama bin Laden's Al-Qaeda network.

Josh, do you possess the linear logic to cross a street?
November 6, 2008 - 19:52 ET by R D HelmAs for Iranian ICBMs, not only do they lack a missile that could reach America, but also the N.I.E. said they stopped working on a nuclear bomb in 2003.
But its perfectly okay if they nuke Tel Aviv, right? I mean, we all know its those pesky Joos that are responsible for all the problems in the Middle East, Right?
Or, how about if they nuke Paris? Or what if they nuke any of the half dozen or so major population centers that are currently in range of their missiles. No biggie, right? After all, Paris and those other places are on the other of the planet, and therefore, we aren't affected, are we? Right?
BTW, you military illiterate, missiles are not the only delivery system for nuclear weapons.

THEY ARE NOT WORKING ON A BOMB
November 6, 2008 - 20:02 ET by Josh SNSo they can't nuke Tel Aviv, Riyadh, or, especially since they lack any ICBMs, America.

I don't have to, nobody else has to, either
November 6, 2008 - 20:13 ET by Josh SNOf course we should do what we can, within reason, to monitor, inspect and spy on Iran to continually confirm they aren't working on a bomb.
In point of fact, most of the "revelations" of the last 5 years about the history of the Iranian nuclear program has come from Iran volunteering information. If they are so evil, why are they volunteering info?
Read the IAEA website, and each update on Iran. It is not at all like you read in the NY Times or on FoxNews.com

I actually agree with Josh here, guy's.
This was a smashing success when we used it against the Soviet's, the Chinese, the DPRK and Pakistan. Why fix it if it's broke?

Um, Josh, the IAEA? The IAEA of Hans Blix?
November 6, 2008 - 20:55 ET by R D HelmBlix wouldn't know a nuke if he tripped over it.
Why would I take the word of a UN organization (that has a history of anti-semitism) over that of the Mossad, which is of the considered opinion that Iran is, in fact, corrently working to assemble multiple devices?
So, you are confident that Iran allowed the IAEA inspectors to have free run of the country, right? I mean, Iran covers a lot of real estate, but you are 100% positive they aren't working toward nukes.
You had better be right, given the consequences to the world of what would happen if Iran was to even attempt, much less carry out, a nuclear attack on any part of Israel.
I can promise you, if they do, Israel will not bother crawling to the UN, begging for permission to retaliate. In fact, I doubt they would even contact us, until after Iran, in its enirety, has been nuked halfway to the edge of the galaxy.

November 6, 2008 - 21:20 ET by HockeyKidOh, don't get me started on the IAEA, you pretentious little prick. I don't have to read their website--I know about them in a way that I can't even tell you about. I wish I could, but that's life. Trust me when I say you would soil your little 12-year-old pants if you had ANY idea about the truth of the matter.
That's it. No more for you, Josh. You're now beneath contempt.

No, of course their not Josh. They just threaten Israel every other day with another holocaust, but certainly their not working on the bomb.
They have been offered by the U.S. and Russia numerous times to have thier Uranium enriched elsewhere, and refused, but certainly thier not working on the bomb.
Well if they weren't, after Tuesday I'm sure they got crackin' on it.
Oh by the way, leave your car door unlocked tonight, cause I certainly won't be coming by to jack your stereo.
