After playing an exchange from last night's presidential debate between Barack Obama and John McCain, "Hardball" host Chris Matthews, thought he was watching an old "Looney Tunes" cartoon, as he chuckled: "Sometimes I think I'm watching Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd here." In this case Matthews believed McCain, in the role of Fudd, was being outwitted, once again, by that "wascally wabbit," Obama.
And for those keeping track Matthews has compared Obama to Mark Twain, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Abraham Lincoln and now Bugs Bunny.
The following occurred on the October 16, edition of "Hardball:"
(BEGIN DEBATE CLIP)
JOHN MCCAIN: Free trade with Colombia is something that’s a no- brainer. But maybe you ought to travel down there and visit them and maybe you could understand it a lot better.
BARACK OBAMA: Let me respond. Actually I understand it pretty well. The history in Colombia right now is that labor leaders have been targeted for assassination on a fairly consistent basis and there have not been prosecutions. And what I have said-
(END DEBATE CLIP)
CHRIS MATTHEWS: Sometimes I think I’m watching Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd here. You know Bugs Bunny is driving him crazy. He’s laughing, running away and Elmer just can’t keep, can’t keep, can’t get his eyes off the guy. Anyway thank you Chuck Todd, thank you Norah O’Donnell. That was an old guy's reference point. Bugs Bunny and Elmer Fudd, okay!
Of course, as Eyeblast users already know, Matthews most resembles the Looney Tunes character Wile E. Coyote, at least when he's talking about Obama.

Matthews tingling leg must have spread to VD of the brain in his bisexual lust for Obama, because the only thing Obama did last night was run from his own policy and as stated above agree with John McCain.

MSM = Matthews Smells Mephtic
October 16, 2008 - 18:23 ET by wdhorningIn other news that "smashes" left wing MSM rhetoric, including Mr Matthews ....
A few years ago the leftists in Spain voted to remove the former conservative leadership from power and then get out of Iraq. The reason for doing this was in the hope that Islamic terrorists would not attack them again, especially after the horrific Madrid commuter train terrorist attacks by terrorists.
WELL IT DID NOT WORK!!!!
It also seems that the Spanish do not know their own history. The Muslims, a long time ago, occupied a huge portion of southern Spain, that is, until the Crusades drove them out. Today, many Muslims still believe that they have a right to this land. This is the reason the Islamic radicals are still trying to kill the Spanish in terrorists attacks. It had virtually nothing to do with Iraq.
But the Spanish thought getting out of Iraq would work, and also they forgot their own history and current events to boot. They are just dummies. The leftist MSM was equally stupid for supporting the point of view that getting out of Iraq was the right thing to do for Spain.
Yoy see, you do not run from terrorists, but you bring the fight to them and thus deal them the justice they deserve. The Spanish, after the Madrid train attacks, should have voted to put even more troops into Iraq as a means to help in tracking down al Qaida in Iraq and to show terrorists they were both not afraid of them and will take the fight to them, not only in their own country, but abroad.
Here is the story related that proves the above is true.

I loved the way Laura handled BOR...Especially when he said that he didn't really have a problem with Obama, because he at least knew "...who he was." That's when I started yelling at the TV! I couldn't believe my ears!!!
At least we know who Obama is?? Is he serious? Barak Obama is the most slickly packaged, media created, artificial candidate for president we have ever had. We have NO idea who he is, because we have been kept from learning about who he really is, with the help of the media running interference for him from the beginning. Practically nothing from his college years, including his time at Harvard, is known, beyond his being the president of the Harvard Law Review. Everything else in "unavailable."
I don't know what BOR was thinking when he said that...I was just stunned...

Yeah, it's always those
October 17, 2008 - 11:59 ET by fitzfongYeah, it's always those vacuous "Sex and the City" single girl types with the grave-robbing crush tendencies. The media fossils like Gergen probably fill some relational void that their fathers never did. While feeling a sense of intellectual and moral superiority in expressing love for an academic type, they haven't a clue how transparent and infantile they sound. They engage in bouts of self-congratulation between Cosmopolitans or Appletinis believing that they're seen as smart, self-sufficient adults...when in reality they're properly viewed as empty-headed bimbos with loose morals. But for phony May-December crushes, you can't get any more schmaltzy than Ben Stiller and Diane Keaton. I remember him writing a magazine article about it...and how he loved when she wore those silly Annie Hall suits.

October 16, 2008 - 21:40 ET by HamiltonNJI forget which morning talk show I was listening to on the way into work the other day, but they brought up the whole 'Elmer Fudd/Bugs Bunny' bit. It was either Imus when he was talking to a guy from Newsmax or Opie and Anthony and someone like Jim Norton brought it up...but i remember them saying this exact thing. This just proves Chris Matthews is a complete hack. Joe Biden's got nothing on him when it comes to plagiarism.
I am convinced of two
October 17, 2008 - 01:44 ET by RogerCfromSDI am convinced of two things: First, that Obama is an Alinsky radical who has been groomed by Ayers and others to ascend quickly and with little scrutiny to where he is today. Second, that Chris Matthews is absolutely in love with Obama. And not just in a "man crush" sort of way, either. If he gushes and tingles any more because of Obama, Matthews will be nominated the Grand Marshall of the next San Francisco Rainbow Parade.

October 17, 2008 - 01:51 ET by tomnkikiGood Lord! That stupid, in(s)ane tripe is what passes for Main Stream Media journalism now? I truly do believe that those who appear on MSNBC as well as other leftist media organizations have truly lost their minds. "Mothballs" with Chris Matthews has gone totally off the deep end. His comments don't even make a bit of sense. I seem to recall a time when he and Olbermann would have been placed in a mental institution to be medicated, have therapy, and hopefully, stabilize their minds somewhat. Now, they're hired by the MSM and put on the air as wise, scintillating journalists. God help us all! Thank the Lord for the internet and the right-wing bloggers who fact-check and speak the truth. I won't insult them by calling them journalists. How about using the good old-fashioned word, "reporter", as it seems they do report the truth.
