NBC's Mitchell Showcases Obama's Touching Moment

Photo of Geoffrey Dickens.

On Tuesday's "Today" show Andrea Mitchell highlighted John McCain's struggles, as he was forced to campaign in "red states Republicans don't usually have to defend," but when it came to Barack Obama, she promoted Obama's soft side as she aired a clip of the Democratic nominee hugging a tearful college student as she cooed: "During two days of campaigning in Ohio, the nation's economic crisis got personal when Obama met a 19-year-old nursing student named Hannah, already deep in debt with student loans."

Mitchell then followed that tease with the following back and forth between Obama and the student:

HANNAH: I'm paying for school myself, so-

BARACK OBAMA: How much, how much you in debt?

HANNAH: Right now about $24,000 and I'm only 19.

OBAMA: Alright well we're gonna try to see if we can provide you some relief, alright?

HANNAH: Yeah I need it because the grants aren't enough.

OBAMA HUGGING STUDENT: I know, I know! I appreciate it, c'mon. Nice to meet you.

HANNAH: Thank you.

Story Continues Below Ad ↓

As for the McCain campaign Mitchell noted, "Gone were last weeks' personal attacks against Barack Obama," but pointed out:

MITCHELL: While McCain and Sarah Palin soften the personal attacks they were accompanied by Hank Williams Jr., with new lyrics for his song "Family Tradition," attacking Obama and praising McCain and Palin.

HANK WILLIAMS JR SINGING: John and Sarah gonna tell you just what they think, they're not gonna blink! And they don't have radical friends to whom their careers are linked!

The following is the full segment as it occurred on the October 14, "Today" show:

MATT LAUER: Three weeks from today the nation will elect the next president and the candidates are hard at work revamping their messages. NBC's Andrea Mitchell is keeping track of all of this for us. Andrea, good morning to you.

ANDREA MITCHELL: Good morning, Matt. Well down in the polls campaigning now in two states, long considered Republican strongholds. John McCain is recasting himself as an underdog and a fighter. And today he will propose new tax cuts aimed at seniors and a capital gains tax cut among other ideas. But Barack Obama got there first on Monday, with some immediate steps for the troubled economy.

JOHN MCCAIN: Don't give up hope! Be strong! Have courage and fight!

MITCHELL: In one campaign speech John McCain used the word "fight," no less than 18 times.

MCCAIN: Fight for a new direction for our country. Fight for what's right for America. Fight to clean up the mess of corruption, infighting, and selfishness in Washington!

MITCHELL: In Virginia and North Carolina, Monday, red states Republicans don't usually have to defend. Gone were last week's personal attacks against Barack Obama. Even some Republicans say those backfired. Under a headline, "Fire the Campaign," commentator William Kristol wrote in the New York Times, "The McCain campaign is now close to being out-and-out dysfunctional." So now a toned down candidate is asking, "Whom do you trust to lead America through a crisis?"

MCCAIN: The national media has written us off. Senator Obama is measuring the drapes. But they forgot to let you decide. We got them just where we want 'em!

SARAH PALIN: Mr. Hank Williams Jr.!

MITCHELL: But while McCain and Sarah Palin soften the personal attacks they were accompanied by Hank Williams Jr., with new lyrics for his song "Family Tradition," attacking Obama and praising McCain and Palin.

HANK WILLIAMS JR SINGING: John and Sarah gonna tell you just what they think, they're not gonna blink! And they don't have radical friends to whom their careers are linked!

MITCHELL: In Ohio, Obama sounded different notes, trying to build on his lead with new proposals for the economy.

BARACK OBAMA: Senator McCain may be worried about losing an election but I'm worried about you losing your jobs. I'm worried about you losing your homes. I'm worried about you losing your life savings.

MITCHELL: Obama's fix, a 90 day ban on foreclosures for people trying to pay off their mortgages. A two year tax break for businesses that create new jobs. Penalty-free withdrawals from retirement accounts of up to $10,000 this year and next, similar to a McCain proposal. And short-term direct loans to cash-strapped state and municipal governments.

OBAMA: It's a plan that begins with one word that's on everybody's mind. And it's easy to spell: J-O-B-S. Jobs!

MITCHELL: During two days of campaigning in Ohio, the nation's economic crisis got personal when Obama met a 19-year-old nursing student named Hannah, already deep in debt with student loans.

(BEGIN CLIP)

HANNAH: I'm paying for school myself, so-

OBAMA: How much, how much you in debt?

HANNAH: Right now about $24,000 and I'm only 19.

HANNAH: Yeah I need it because the grants aren't enough.

OBAMA HUGGING STUDENT: I know, I know! I appreciate it, c'mon. Nice to meet you.

HANNAH: Thank you.

(END CLIP)

MITCHELL: McCain advisers hope that the economic plan that they unveil today will help restart their campaign before the self-described Republican underdog gets one more chance to take on Obama in the final debate of this campaign tomorrow night.

I saw it this morning

And I laughed. Andrea Mitchell goes out of her way to make Obama look like some kind of white knight.

NBC would never air something similar to this with John McCain as the 'savior.'

Isn't she the one Obama was

Isn't she the one in the photo that Obama was kissing on Matt Drudge's site?

"Forget change, I want improvement!"

You Racist!!!

When does the black knight get to be the good one?

Quick, where's the tissue?

Amazing, over 40 years of hatred coming from this man, and now he fakes tenderness. Boo, hoo, I cannot stop crying!

Bill Kristol

I don't know or care whether Kristol is right or not, but he did a big disservice to everyone by being a pastry for the left wing lard-arses to chew up and swallow in one bite.

retro

I agree 100% on Kristol. What was he thinking? This election isn't a high-school debate format where everybody gets to comment on style and substance. Kristol needs to get in the real world and think about how his comments are going to be used by the leftests -- and also not forget who has the biggest bullhorn -- the Dims do with the MSM.

Kristol could just as easily kept his comments private, but he didn't -- and he's a fool.

$200,000.00 in

$200,000.00 in debt????

At 19???

From "student loans"???

What the Hell? How is this possible? I understand the burden of paying for a secondary education on those of us not fortunate enough to be a minority but $200,000.00.

If my son had to pay for his college education at a private Ohio school sans any  grants, etc. it still would have only totaled $120,000.00 (Ha! Only ...)

"All generalizations are false, including this one.” Mark Twain

That's the exact same thing

That's the exact same thing I thought of. She must have included her wardrobe expenses for her Freshman year. You know she just had to look good for the first day of school. Or, did she even use the money for school???

If this girl cannot afford this particular college, then why on earth did she go there? She should have first taken a course in economics!

And as far as Obama is concerned...what's he gonna do now pay $200,000 to every wanna-be college kid in the country? Not with my money he won't!

Women

This is exactly the kind of bleeding heart crap that a majority (I said a majority) of women voters buy into.

You can pretty well track the genesis of the decline of America, right back to women's suffrage. FACT-Without the women's vote, we would never have had a democrat in the White House, nor would we ever have had a democrat controlled congress.

Thanks ladies (present company of Newsbusterladies excluded, I guess). NAAAAHHH, that's a cop-out.

Where is everybody getting

Where is everybody getting this $200,000 figure?

FINALY A REAL CANDIATE FOR PRESIDENT!!!!!!!!!

http://zod2008.com/index.htm

19 years old and therefore

19 years old and therefore likely in first year, maybe 2nd year of college. $200,000 in debt already! No way. I know college is expensive, but this poor girl is getting ripped off. But, damn the facts, it makes a good sound bite and demonstrates BHO's compassion.

 PG

19 years old and $200k in debt...come on

How does a 19 year old nursing student run up 200k in debt?  This has to be a campaign plant or a girl spouting BS.  The most expensive Ivy League schools are about 40k a year.  Unless she went to Harvard at age 14, I highly doubt she has 200k in tuition debt.

hannah is no doogie howser

If she were exceptional enough to be at Harvard at age 14, she would have received exceptional scholarships. Plus, we are to assume that she attends a college in Ohio. How much is nursing school tuition in Ohio?

I hope someone does a followup story on her.

regarding Barack Obama's tax plan - I never received a job from a poor person.

How in Hell

How in Hell does a 19 yr-old get 200,000 dollars in debt to go to nursing school, "19 yrs old"????? If this is true no wonder the gov is broke and the education system is broken!!!!

kilrod

edit add on; Sounds like babooon crap by the train load to me,-,- kilrod

Remember, only two defining forces have ever offered to die for you, Jesus Christ and the American Soldier

$200,000 for college loans

$200,000 for college loans at 19yrs old?  Now, I don't know the colleges in Ohio very well, but by sampling some of the more expensive private ones: Notre Dame, Xavier, Wesleyan, I'm finding the total cost including tuition and room & board and other expenses comes to at max, $40,000/yr.

If she is 19 yrs old, she at most has paid for two years of college (she could be a child prodigy, but if she was, she likely would not be in nursing).  So, at max, she could have $80,000 in loans - which also assumes she has chosen not to take a part-time job as a source of some income and not received any grant money or parental support.

Something smells fishy.  I detect the faint odor of a plant.

this is most definitely a

this is most definitely a plant

the finances don't make sense, unless she is counting her condo and car and stuff like that in her debt

and notice its nursing school, not business school - who could criticize a nurse, she is not going into one of those evil industries that only the rich and greedy are in - she is going to help grandma and sick kids

pure politics

as for relief - how about she stops borrowing money?

It could be that she took up

It could be that she took up an elective in Ski Vacation class or Nightly Club Crawl class something.

A freeze on foreclosures ...

... for people "trying" to pay their mortgage?  Does this mean that for those that are no longer "trying" to pay, there is no freeze?  I doubt it. And Andrea instead of getting "touched" by that scene, most unbiased people would be left wondering -- how come so much debt for a 19 y.o.  Andrea has no problem making others pay for her supposed student debt.  Obama's massive wealth redistribution plan is almost here folks.  Hold onto your wallets.

200k?

Yeah right,

I can see them now trying to fabricate this thing...

"What kind of debt would a regular Joe have if they had to pay for it themselves?"

"$200,000"

"Run with it..."

I could send all my kids to college and buy a house with that kind of money.

Update: Correction

$200,000 figure is wrong, sorry about that. She said $24,000.

you'd think she be smart and

you'd think she be smart and find a job and WORK FOR TUITION MONEY.

Or

find a cheaper school.  Closer to home.  Part-time.

There's no reason to go to a $40k/year private college halfway across the country for a nursing degree.

There you go ruining our fun :-)

Thought that number was a little high. Still, 24k is kind of steep for a Freshman year. There are plenty of community colleges out there with Nursing programs. You know sweety, not everyone can afford  steak.

Thanks for the clarification Geoff.

"All generalizations are false, including this one.” Mark Twain

Thanks for the correction.

Thanks for the correction. Ok, now, am I suppose to be shedding a tear for the sophomore college student with $24k in debt? College is not meant to be free! How do you think they can afford to operate? This is a classic opportunity cost scenario. By choosing college, you don't have to have a job for 4-5 years (going to college was much more fun than working) and you open up countless career doors and expand opportunities for higher pay. However, you do have to pay a price for that, which only seems reasonable. You also have a choice as to how much you are willing to pay for school; it's not like they force you to go to an expensive private school - that's your choice. It's time for this generation to learn fiscal responsibility and quit looking for handouts.

Ok, even I did that (2

Ok, even I did that (2 semesters of  $16k) when I started up my MBA.  I am still in the program but now paying for it as I go AND  paying the loan off.

Seriously, loans like this are one of the best educations that young adults get these days.  C'mon Obama, don't take this girl's education away!

The more ignorant someone

The more ignorant someone is, the more likely they are to vote for Obama.

A plant ?

Here is a chance for some blogger to track down the paper trail.

 And please post the video

Obama and college tuition

Maybe Obama could explain to her how a muslim extremist in Saudi Arabia helped him get into Harvard Law and how he helped him with his tuition.

 Unbelievable...

And the golden one says:

"Alright well we're gonna try to see if we can provide you some relief, alright?"

And Lebowski is going to the end of the rainbow to look for gold!

Honey, if you do get through school, Obama and the DemonRats will take all of your money and give it to people who don't or won't work but want something for nothing.

Jeff Lebowski

www.angrywhitedude.c...

I don't understand.  My

I don't understand.  My loans are high and I am not looking to government for help.  I took a calculated risk that if I took out loans because I believed that I could find a good enough paying job to pay them back slowly, which I did.

And as far as being a nurse, my wife is a nurse and barely has any student loans.  She worked during the first two years of prerequisites while going to community college, and then applied for grants and scholarships while she finished her bachelor's degree.

If you don't work to get scholarships and grants, then you need to go to a cheaper college.  And the need for nurses is so bad that it really doesn't matter what college you go to get your nursing degree.

Thomas Jefferson once said, 'We should never judge a president by his age, only by his works.' And ever since he told me that, I stopped worrying. - Ronald Reagan

Maybe tuition wouldn't be so high

if there wasn't a bunch of lazy 60's throwbacks running the schools.

question ...

how is he going to help her ... when she graduates and becomes a nurse ... she'll be one of the "haves" and he'll tax the hell out of her.

this is the typical whiney victim that democrats dupe into blindly following them ... like lemmings to the sea.

sad thing ... this girl is not even near the point where she'll have to pay those loans back ... why is she crying about it now?  it seems as if the youth of america is eager to jump on the nanny-wagon so they never have to deal with difficult situations.  for the most part, college students should have nothing to bitch about ... life is pretty easy for the majority of them ... and for those facing difficulties, they're usually too busy to show up to a presidential pep rally.

meanwhile, the rest of us ... you know, those who do work, keep our families fed and pay our mortgages ... we just keep our mouth shut and deal with it ... all we get is a tax increase ... yea.

She was born at the wrong time, too bad for her.

If only she was a senior with $50,000 in debt who was just getting ready to graduate. Then she could default on the loans, the government would prevent any action being taken against her or her credit rating and the bank would be bailed out by the Treasury Department and all would be well. Too bad that in 2 years when she is ready to graduate we'll be in the second year of the depression caused by the bank bailout bill and the Gov will own all the banks.

You want change? Give me a dollar.

As concerned as he was, I

As concerned as he was, I thought he was going to pull out a wad of money and give it to her to fix her pain. But we all know how little the Obama's contribute to charities.

A lot of these students don't go into debt from tuition alone, they will live off their credit cards during their school years, charging clothes, food, trips, etc. My brother's dating a woman who lived like this and is now having to pay off a whopper of a debt bill.

How many of these students are working at least two jobs to help out while they're in school? Probably not many. Much more fun to get loans, live off your credit cards, and complain about how in debt you are.

"As concerned as he was, I

"As concerned as he was, I thought he was going to pull out a wad of money and give it to her to fix her pain."

He didn't even slip his own Kenyan brother a c-note.

Well, give him a friggin' break.

It's only his half brother and a C-note is really hard to break in Kennya

You want change? Give me a dollar.

Whiny kids

Obama's trying to buy off college kids who think they will not have to pay off their student loans if he wins.  I know many college students who really believe this.  All that will do is 1) jack up the tax burden on working people like me and 2) make it harder for future students to get loans.

Cry me a river, Hannah.  I got out of law school with over $80K in debt.  I was lucky, I had no debt from undergraduate school.  The average medical school student graduates over $100K in the hole, not including any undergraduate loans.  I got a job and did whatever I could to pay.  It wasn't easy but I finally got it paid off recently.

If Hannah didn't want to be in debt, she could've gone to a community college part-time, looked for scholarships, or go to a state university where she'll pay in-state tuition.

Reminds me of touching moment w/ Bush & Sheehan

This reminds me of that touching moment w/ Bush & Cindy Sheehan at the private ceremony, and how our MSM always reminded us of it, during all that coverage of Bush never agreeing to meet with Sheehan. (I will now remove my tongue from my cheek). (;~> gary

Bush shown kissing Cindy in family pix

Isn't it about time to start

Isn't it about time to start a campaign to provide snorkeling equipment to the on-air bundits at NBC. As much time as they spend in the Obama tank, they could certainly use it.

This is such garbage, I have

This is such garbage, I have ~10k in student loans that I have to pay back and Im not running around looking for sympathy. God forbid anyone have to actually PAY FOR THEIR OWN SCHOOL. My wife was reading me this article about generations, and part of it was how my generation which this girl is apart of is the whiner generation that never had to fail or do anything on their own. Everything was handed to them, they got trophies for their sports even if they stunk, they played sports where there were no winners or loser, etc. they have never earned anything and think they deserve to be given it all. WORST. GENERATION. EVER.

No way! A college student

No way! A college student who has college LOANS? Totally unheard of!

Left Out?

OBAMA: "I tell you what sweetie, I'll pay for your education if you 'volunteer' to teach at one of the Re-Education Camps. If not, you can attend the Camp for free. Deal?"

Boo f-ing hoo. When I was

Boo f-ing hoo.

When I was just slightly older than the teary eyed crybaby here, I bought a house and was instantly in debt $125,000.

I smell bull. My brother

I smell bull.

My brother who is a nurse went to a community college...paid off his debt pretty quickly and got a good education.  Nursing pays pretty well and even with those debts with good spending habits she could have it payed off in 10 years or less.

I went to the same community college, transfered and stayed in state at the big university.  I worked all 5 years, had 2 1/2 years paid off when I graduated, and 12,000 in loans.  I think I did pretty well.  It can be done.

Paying for College

I thought all of you were smart. None of you have come up with two sure fire ways for your kids to get a college education for free. Option one: take your kids to Nebraska for their 17th birthday. (If you don't get the joke do a little research.) Option two: Send them off to their school of choice and tell them to tell the admissions people they are illegal aliens. Either way the state will pay for their education. Or you can use that old conservative standby: hard work and personal responsibility. Since when is there a RIGHT to a college education? What RIGHT do you have to take money from me to pay for YOUR college education?

HU?  I tell my kids over

HU?

I tell my kids over and over...USMA or nothing.  So, I upped you, they pay you to go there!

WHEN THE F*** DID THE US POST THE FREE SIGN?

Free housing

Free tuition

Free healthcare

Free welfare

Free immigration

I will tell you when...when the US started listening to that sick and dying area of the world called Europe and quit forcing people to take responsibility for your own actions.

to this piece of crap student that is complaining about $24k, I ask, did anyone force you to do this?  did you work your butt off to try to get scholarships?  did you look for a cheaper school?  did you not do an economic analysis and realize that, despite what the liberal piece of crap you were talking to that is running for president told you, NOTHING IN THIS WORLD IS FOR FREE.  you have to sacrifice you little tramp.

If money is a drug, the biggest drug dealers are democrats.  They have done nothing for minorities other than to feed their dependence upon them, pandering for their vote, either by giving or guilt.

Pathetic.

I agree but ...

Can we lay off the "little tramp" comment?

I put myself through school - had to go to a "state" school since I didn't want $100,000+ in loans ... found a way to manage and pay off all my loans in less than 8 years. Honestly, people like this make me sick. If you want to go to college, you will have to come up with a way to pay for it. Period. Our country does not OWE you a college degree. Your parents do not OWE you a college degree.

Talk about creating a country of people completely dependent on government ...

my apologies for the little tramp comment

i was just so mad.  i funded/worked my way through law school, racked up debt close to a mortgage and never, ever expected anyone other than me to have responsibility to pay it off.

now, this girl knows nothing of personal responsibility, and someone's life is going to be in her hands?  that is scary.

bubba... You said it all

bubba...

You said it all in your first post..you summed it up in a nutshell what is wrong and going wrong with this country...I am angry too...you are not alone.

The msm and the dems are nothing but working hard year after year repeating enough that everything is owed to the younger generation, everything is free...and you should expect it, you are owed it by the Constitution of the US...the Living Constitution that is if the left take over more and more.

It is absolutely unbelievable.

"America isn't the problem...America is the solution." ~ Rush Limbaugh

She could do what I and others have done .....

Join the military. I joined to get my college paid for and gained valuable experience while I was at it. I know its hard Hanna, having to work full time(and longer) and going to school at the same time....but at least I didn't ask for hand outs. Twelve  years later I graduated...got out and am now an engineer for an Aerospace company

GO EARN SOMETHING FOR A CHANGE HANNA......unbelievable....

*hurl*

People like her make me want to vomit.  Seriously.

My parents had no money to send me to college. I paid my own way, with some fairly minor help from grants. I worked crap jobs and I attended a public university. Now I'm, frankly, making way more money than my parents ever did.

I can't even fathom going $24,000 into debt. Unless she's talking about medical bills, she has no excuse. She's part of the problem and I see no reason to bail her out.

Couldn't agree more...

"She's part of the problem and I see no reason to bail her out."

I agree. My parents didn't have money to send me to college either. Dad said I'd have to join the Army to pay for college, so I did.  Unfortunately, I didn't take full advantage of the opportunities that the Army gave.  Since getting out, I've been working for a company that paid for me to finish my BS in Businesss Administration (graduated magna cum laude - 3.92GPA).

A little "tough love" would do this girl a world of good.

worse yet, my mother did

worse yet, my mother did have money and she still said she would not pay for any of my college, "It is part f your education, dear."  I worked durring the day for a company that reimbursed some school expenses, joind the National Guard and they paid over 100% of my tuition, and I went to night school with people 10-20 years older than me.  But then I got pregnant and cashed in my 401K and went to school full time to graduate faster (no welfare for me).  I wound up with $10,000 in loans.

Paying for college

Good grief, what a whiny brat.  Like you, I paid my way through undergrad (mostly by washing dishes).  Even so, by the time I was 20, I had 10K in savings in my bank account.  I have a Masters Degree now, and make a decent living - much more than either of my parents (neither of whom went to college) did.  No student loans to pay off at graduation.  It is possible for those willing to put some effort into it.  Now I am a would-be target for an Obama administration.

Just Write Her A Check!

Hey Barack!  If you want to "provide some relief" then write her a check with your own money.  Don't take food out of my family's mouth for your ridiculous social programs.

Obama = All Talk, No Record

Just like he did for his brother who lives in a hut in Kenya...

Maybe Obama can ask his buddy Ayers to help this poor student out since they worked so hard fighting for students in Chicago together.

Obama is going to bring in a new world order, like when Scar and the hyenas took contol of Pride Land in the movie Lion King.  I suspect that Obama has plenty of friends in lowly places.

Obama = False Christ

Student:  "Mr. Obama sir, I have sins that I can't pay for..."

Obama:  "Come to me and I will heal your wounds."

I'm sure it makes Obama feel good to be a savior (false Christ dare I say?) If you think education is expensive, try ignorance.

If you can't afford the tuition, transfer to a cheaper school.  Is it government's role to pay for students' ivy league educations?

Government funding and assistance is partly to blame for increasing tuitions.  If a university can expect that government will assist student tuitions they will increase their rates with confidence knowing that government will be the students' insurance in case they run into trouble, like this young student.

Savior Obama

"Oh how unfortunate, I think I'll get my Kenyan brother to send you a dollar".

More thoughts on this ...

You know, for all of you out there who paid your way through college ... did you resent it? Or did it make you a better person?

For me, it absolutely made me a better person. I appreciated my parents so much more. I realized what it takes to make it in the world - HARD WORK!!! What happens if we start handing all kids everything they want, when they want it? If you don't have to earn anything in life, what type of person do you become?

I really hope America wakes up before it is too late. As we all know, it is virtually impossible to reverse or stop a government program once it is in place.

GOP... Could not agree

GOP...

Could not agree more...you said it all.

It is sad what I have seen happen in my lifetime...and sadder yet what I foresee down the road.

"America isn't the problem...America is the solution." ~ Rush Limbaugh

awwww

God bless her little heart, she's having to borrow money to go to school! We're in that much debt from college and have never whined about it. You get a job, you pay down your loans, problem solved.

There are still countries out there where poor kids don't stand a chance of going to college. But brats in America expect everything to be free now.

Sorry, G Dickens, but I saw

Sorry, G Dickens, but I saw the clip too, and here's what I saw:

HANNAH: I'm paying for school myself, so-

OBAMA: How much, how much you in debt?

HANNAH: Right now about $24,000 and I'm only 19.

OBAMA: Alright well we're gonna try to see if we can provide you some relief, alright? Here's a check for $5,000 -- direct from my checking account. I feel really, really bad for you, and I hope this little bit helps.

HANNAH: Yeah I need it because the grants aren't enough.

OBAMA HUGGING STUDENT: I know, I know! I appreciate it, c'mon. Nice to meet you.

HANNAH: Thank you. You're so kind. Wait till I tell everybody at next week's Young Republicans Club -- they're not going to believe it. This check will help pay for some of my dues. And, I'm behind in giving -- I really wanted to provide the Boy Scouts with a grant, but I didn't have the money. And finally, I can quit my crummy part-time job and buy that stereo I've always wanted. Thank you again, Obama.

Think this is far-fetched? I don't. Give someone some money for free, with no strings attached, and see what happens.

How much are schools?

I thought tuition in public state schools was around $5,000.

A quick google search tells me that in California for instance, 70% of nurses are educated in community college which runs $12 per unit! (wow).

No, in Texas its closer to

No, in Texas its closer to 10K with books and fees, a junior college is close to 4K

Nuke em til they glow then shoot em in the dark.

Ditto, McCain

"But they forgot to let YOU decide."

Good for McCain to remind the media that their polls, interpretations, perceptions, etc. don't mean dip!   Whoever gets more of our votes--the votes of the American citizens--will be president, and those results will be revealed in due time.  Be patient, media, and let the people decide!

"We're going to try to see

"We're going to try to see if we can provide you some relief"

Obama: "Heyyyy, somebody stop that guy over there, yea that guy with the suit on, he's bound to have money.   Someone grab a fistful and bring it over to this poor student.  Don't worry about how much, he doesn't need it, bring it to this student."

Wealth redistribution done at hands of government.  What's the freakin difference in that and what I just described?

ACORN, that is where you can

ACORN, that is where you can make a little money..

USA... Yeah as us

USA...

Yeah as us tax-payers pay over 40% to ACORN anyway, may as well, plus Obama giving 800,000 to them from his contributions for his campaign.

Wonderful isn't it...just peachy.

She was $24,000 in debt, not $200,000.

See Geoffrey's note above. He corrected the amount about 10 hours before your message.

regarding Barack Obama's tax plan - I never received a job from a poor person.

COLLEGE IS A RIGHT!!

COLLEGE IS A RIGHT!!  COLLEGE IS A RIGHT DAM..-IT!!!  sob sob, wimper, wimper.

Who needs college if Obama gets elected, anyway?

After all, we all are going to be getting guaranteed jobs, right?

And heck, with Obama being the HMFWIC, we aren't going to have to pay any federal income taxes, healthcare costs, tuition, mortgage payments, car payments, electric bills, gas bills, water bills, sewer bills, cable bills, or even our credit card bills!

And, if we play our cards right (and ask real nice like) we can probably get our gasoline and beer taken care of, too!

LOL-Crap, we can all live like kings on just $26k/yr.   :-)

Ct,

This Obamassiah worship is getting very unsettling. Not just this, which is ridiculous on its face, but when you take a few steps back, pause for a moment, then take it all in as a whole.

It is beginning to look not a little Hitlerian to me.
