Chris Matthews: Obama's Win a 'Magic Moment,' Like 'Camelot'

Photo of Geoffrey Dickens.

Chris Matthews took to the air on MSNBC's "Hardball," just moments after former Obama fundraiser Tony Rezko was convicted on fraud and money laundering charges, but Matthews wasn't about to let that bit of breaking news ruin the moment, as he never mentioned the conviction once on the hour long program.

However, he did find time, during the 5 PM EDT edition of Wednesday's Hardball, to gush about Obama's "magic moment" with his wife Michelle:

CHRIS MATTHEWS: Let's go now to Roger Simon. Again your thoughts on last night's magic moment for a lot of Americans, in fact, me included. I, that picture is right out of Camelot, as far as I'm concerned.

Matthews

Off camera Matthews admitted that he had to change his shorts after watching Barry's speech. Sad.

Who is Barry Ostero?

NEVER,NEVER trust a "liberal"

There is simply no hope for Chris.

There is simply no hope for Chris.

Chris Matthews is

Chris Matthews is disgusting!!!

The man was having Obagasms all last night!

By the way, did you guys hear Obama's speech?

It went something like this....

"Hope and change, hope and change, this is what I will bring to America.  You the people have chosen hope and change because hope and change is what you want.  Hope and change is what America needs and hope and change is what we will give to America.  Oh yeah, by the way we will bring this hope and change by stealing the profits of the oil companies and the big corporations.  But hope and change is what I will bring to America."

How anyone can fall for this empty rhetoric is beyond me, honestly.

and for some, like, five

and for something, like, five hours, give or take, wasn't it? Reminds me of a speech by Castro or Chavez.

Republicans - the party of No Hope...

I'm sure when Reagan referred to the Shining City on the Hill - you just snickered...

Please outline all the substantive aspects of McBush's intolerably boring speech last night in front of 200 yawning fans... I just wonder what kind of specific policy plans Obama should've been outlining last night - aside from reducing the troops in Iraq, working towards healthcare for all Americans, instituting middle class tax cuts, containing iran, capturing bin laden and making America safe from terrorism.

But you didn't actually listen to his speech...

Democrats don't need a plan

Democrats don't need a plan. Look at Kery. He was going to do it smarter and better. He had a secret plan but ony if elected. And after he lost, screw the American people. "Damned if they think I will reveal any smarter and better plan."

Now we have Obama, hope and change and change and hope. Yea, buddy. That alone speaks mountains. Carter hoped for change too. And we got change. McBush or a Bush 3rd term is better than a Carter 2nd term.

"Forget change, I want improvement!"

Jabelson, Well,  I find

Jabelson,

Well,  I find it amusing that you would assert that anyone didn't listen to the speech.  Don't be so quick to assume.

I did hear his speech and the only thing Obama had to say was "Hope and Change, HOpe and Change and then, some more hope and change..."

I do find it interesting that instead of saying, no you are wrong and this is why....you went and head and claimed that McCain's speech was boring with no subtance.  Thus admitting that Obama was too.

Don't worry, dictators like Chavez, Castro, Stalin, Mao Tsung, also gave great speeches that arouse the masses.  They also spoke to hope and change.  They also said that they were going to steal from the oil companies and big corporations.  The problme is that they didn't tell you how they were going to do it.

I swear it and say it every time, Obama's words are Chavez's words in 1998.  NO different.  The masses fell for him and now the masses are begging him to leave, but too late, he literally re-wrote the Venezuelan constitution.

I am embarrassed for any human being that actually believes and gets excited by the empty rhetoric spewed by Obama.

hey didn't you love it too when he said he was not going to play the politics of attacks and of hate, etc, etc and immediatly after he was done saying that, in the next breath he took a jab at McCain and insulted McCain....

You have to love the "honesty" and "sincerity" of Obama.

I don't know what I find sadder, Obama's speech or the masses in St. Paul that were applauding his empty rhetoric and lies.

Faux

Somebody get this guy some Viagra! He keeps having these faux-gasms up and down his legs every time he looks at Obama.

Flip a few blue rockets Chris, turn on your gay side and have a real one already!

Camelot

Camelot. I love how the libs can't refrain from adding continual references to people and places that make me think of ROYALTY! Luckily I just re-read the Declaration of Independence and am renewed in my will to fight off the tyranical rule of his majesty, BO, the emperor of no substance. Maybe Chris, the court jester and licker of the boots, will throw himself in front of the King's carriage.

Alan Keyes for President

Everyone will have to "eat

Everyone will have to "eat ham, jam and Spam a lot" after BHO's taxes leave us with mere "change".

houdini....Actually, Alan Keyes ran against Obama...

Of course he was shipped in from out of town, trying to Emulate Hillary, but he was a little Too Right of Chicago, and a little too Religious for the Trinity Church Goers.

But I'd vote for Alan Keyes in a Minute.....at least he has a head on his Shoulders, and he's 100% Black.

You are 100% Right J

You are 100% Right J ... on all accounts. I remember Alan's move from MD to Ill at the behest of the Republican Party. A good man, a good conservative, sacrificed by the Party!

.... that picture, is right

.... that picture, is right out of Camelot, as far as I'm concerned.

Camelot never existed except as a fantasy.  In the sixties no ordinary person talked about 'Camelot'.  It was just media shorthand for being in the tank for the kennedys.

Hey Chrissy...if it was Right out of Camelot...you would see

Kennedy grabbing her Boobs.....

These guys are gonna run outta metaphors and Abraham Lincoln comparisons soon, aren't they ?

I can't keep up these Puns forever......

"Kennedy grabbing her

"Kennedy grabbing her Boobs....."

LOL. Yeah, with one hand, the other would be holding the rum and Coke.

Restless ....that reminds me..why would the Govt. take over

Why would the Government take over Exxon/Mobil....A company that can't Drill in American, hasn't built a Refinery in 30 years, and only makes Millions because the Govt. is shrinking the Supply by Restricting access, production, and Expansion of Refining capacity ?

If the Govt. took the Oil companies over, at least the MSM could Figure out Who to Blame for High Gas Prices.

As it is, the Govt. has taken over the Oil Fields themselves, keeping Federal lands Drilling Rig free, and they interview the Oil companies asking what the Problem is.....just as the oil companies told them in Congression hearings in 2007, they repeated the description of the Problem.

Even the most casual Observer should have figured it out by now.

So why does Congress call them "Hearings" when Congress can't HEAR ?

Jay Tee,

Don't give the liberals any ideas. They would take over drilling rigs in a second, what few there are domestically, if they thought they could get away with it.

I think the quote from Maxine Waters if just what these socialists feel. They think they should be in charge because they know what's best. If you saw the video of the quote, then you saw the look on waters' face. She truly believed what she was saying, but at the word socialize, you could see her have an "oh sh!t" moment.

You are absolutely right that the lack of domestic drilling and refining are making the oil execs. rich. As long as the dems have the enviromental vote, and the fawning msm, they will never see themselves for the fools they are.
