California Teacher Tells Kindergarteners There Are 'More Than Two Genders'

Redwood Heights Elementary School in Oakland, CA has joined the chorus of those wishing to mainstream “gender-bending” by enacting a program this week that, according to a press release, tells kindergarteners “there are more than two genders.”

The kindergarten through fifth grade school hosted a 2-day program for students titled, “Gender Spectrum Diversity Training,” in which single-sex Hawaiian geckos and transgender clownfish were brought in to teach children that “there are different ways to be boys. There are different ways to be girls,” according to Redwood Heights principal Sara Stone. Students received gender diversity training as they learned about “boy snakes that act ‘girly’.”

This is only the latest example of what seems to be a New-Age, gender-bending agenda pushed into the mainstream media by those who refuse to accept the traditional sex differences between men and women. A couple in Toronto, Canada has sparked outrage because they refuse to assign a specific gender to their infant “Storm,” preferring instead to believe “a child’s sex should not determine his or her place in the world.”

The Culture and Media Institute exposed clothing company J. Crew’s gender-bending advertisement in which creative director Jenna Lyons was seen exploiting son Beckett’s favorite color by painting his toenails pink.

Earlier this year, NBC’s “Today Show” show host Meredith Vieira fawned over 5-year-old Dyson Kilodavis who twirled around in a tu-tu on set as his mother pimped out her book titled “My Princess Boy.” Perhaps not surprisingly, reading “My Princess Boy” was on the agenda for kindergarten and first grade students at Redwood Heights this week.

The Pacific Justice Institute is taking action against the school, providing outraged parents with legal counsel because it believes the school’s program “does not represent the values of the majority of families in Oakland,” attorney Kevin Snider said.

Redwood Heights is a public school, funded by taxpayers, but the $1,500 program was paid for by a California Teachers Association grant, a point brought up by the San Francisco Chronicle. Troy Flint, a spokesman for the Oakland school district said media members from USA Today and Fox News visited the school on Monday.

The San Jose Mercury News couldn't afford to even mention the gender-bending controversy in its headline, “Oakland elementary school teaches children about gender.” The non-chalant article glossed over the blatant propaganda by stating, “Some girls like the color blue. Some boys like to wear things that sparkle. Not all girls play with dolls, and not all boys like to play with trucks.” That was enough for Mercury News author Katy Murphy who concluded, “Kindergartners at Redwood Heights Elementary School reached those conclusions on Monday during a lesson about gender and acceptance.”

Perhaps the most famous example of gender-bending was talk-show queen Oprah’s astonishing admission that she believes a “pregnant man” is “normal.” Winfrey hosted Thomas Beatie and her wife in April 2008, praising the couple's courage saying, “…And a new definition of what diversity means for everybody, and redefining normal. And I really applaud you for having the courage to do it.”

You cannot insult a single-sex Hawaiian gecko by telling him to go eff himself.

They just stare at you all funny-like.

Their plan is working.

Submitted by MaximusBraveheart on Wed, 05/25/2011 - 11:11am.

Their plan is working. People too afraid to speak out since they are pre-framed and slandered on the front side as being hateful. Time to turn the table on them since they are the ones being bigoted. It is one value vs. another new value system. Hate is their political strategy to win the culture & political war. It is more than powerful but is built on a lie and hurts people on both sides.

This is royally screwed up. Just another example of social engineering performed by public schools and protected by the NEA. They can't do an adequate job of teaching math and sciences but they concentrate on rubbish such as this?

When the puberty hormones hit these children a funny thing will happen. They will be repelled by persons of their own sex and be irresistibly drawn to the opposite sex.  Being called Gay will never become a mainstream compliment.

This is state sponsored child

Submitted by rbosque on Wed, 05/25/2011 - 11:20am.

This is state sponsored child abuse. The state has no business confusing children by undermining the parent's teaching authority. No wonder the left is desperate to hang on to public schools, how else to indoctrinate kids?

Only two genders

Submitted by jon_torlin on Wed, 05/25/2011 - 12:15pm.

Aside from rare genetic abnormalities, there are only two genders, XX chromosomes and XY chromosomes,  Female and Male, respectively.

That's it.  The male mates with the female who then creates a baby of which will either be male or female.

And these morons want to complicate that very essence that is the foundation of LIFE with this crap to kindergartners??

Argh!  This is deliberate social engineering of the worst kind!

More than two genders vs. God

Submitted by Radical1979 on Wed, 05/25/2011 - 10:23pm.

We live a very confused society when schools can teach there are more than two genders, against all scientific fact, but God cannot be seen or heard in school, because there is no scientific proof of him.

"a child's sex should not

Submitted by ant on Thu, 05/26/2011 - 2:19am.

"a child's sex should not determine his or her place in the world"
First point, they used the terms "his or her", thereby proving they KNOW that there exists a 'his and her'. TWO distinct genders. Second point, by placing the onus of being a 'non'gender' person on him or her, they have assured that their place in the world will not be determined, they want to insure that they have no real place in the world and have guaranteed 'him or her' a life of confusion, stress, and crisis of identity. But then that was probably the plan of those who have brought useful idiots to think in these terms.
If they are going to use examples in nature, such as "transgendered clownfish", I'm too assume logically that all traits exhibited by other animals can be related to the human experience. Is this what passes for 'thinking' and 'edumacation' these days? Can a child now expect to presume they can live out their life as an oceanic mammal? or they can also fly? Or they can subsist on grass? use echo-location? ETc? Absolutely retarded and evil are leftist scum.

Considering how this very same group of people won't consider a fetus a person but merely a "thing" and refer to the fetus as an "it" I wonder how long it will take before they refer to children as "it"'s to further this ridiculous "more than two genders" nonsense?

In current academic-speak

Submitted by redfish on Thu, 05/26/2011 - 11:42am.

In current academic-speak "gender" refers to peoples social personas, and not their biological sex. Hence why boys that act like girls can be considered them a "gender".

That's contradictory with the fact that they're using biological examples, like clownfish and geckos to push the issue of course. There are real cases of genetic disorders in humans like hermaphroditism, and apparent sex changes through having extra chromosomes. And there's nothing wrong with teaching tolerance towards people who are honestly, authentically different , if there's ever a need to do that.

But people shouldn't be forced to be approve the CHOICES of people, or treat choices made out of a person's free will as if they were biologically forced on individuals. Nor if the person says they didn't have a choice, should people be forced not to view that as a psychological issue rather than a genetic fact.
